C17 Pauli's
I nodded obediently. Lin Lu's car was driving very fast. My house was just two blocks away from the city center of Pauli.
At this time, the entrance was already surrounded by people. More than a dozen cops were driving police cars and pulling the police cordon, but they couldn't stop them. They were all shouting about having Paulie accompany them on the mental damage and medical expenses.
I was a little confused. I didn't get it until the deer said it. This was a comprehensive hotel, and this corpse had been in the water tower for at least three days. That water tower was the source of drinking water in the entire hotel.
The people at the door were all guests or diners who had come to the hotel from Paulie, which meant that they had been drinking the corpse water of the dead for so many days.
"F * ck, I feel disgusted just thinking about it." I couldn't help but grumble. Luckily, I was poor and didn't have the chance to spend money in such a high-end hotel.
The car was parked near the entrance to the hotel. I was just about to enter the hotel behind the deer when I heard someone call out to me.
"Old Lin!"
I turned my head to see a Qiang Zi in a uniform. I was about to reply subconsciously, but I was glared fiercely at by Lin Lu. I could only nod in acknowledgement before the confused Qiang Zi entered the hotel.
When we entered the elevator, Lin Lu told me that the victim's name was Dai Yongqiang and that he lived in room 501. However, when I pressed the button for the elevator, I realized that there was no third floor inside.
Lin Lu seemed to disdainfully say:
"Chinese people are superstitious and believe that death and four are the same, so people who open hotels usually jump over the fourth floor, but in essence he still exists."
But I always felt strange, inexplicable, and unlucky. When the elevator reached its destination, I walked out and looked at the red carpet embroidered with golden peonies and rich flowers. Somehow I felt repressed.
The corridor of this hotel was very long and crooked. A few dozen steps away on both sides was a door. On the wall, there were all kinds of European oil paintings or Chinese ink paintings.
I took a closer look. It could be said to be filled with gods and buddhas from the East and the West. There were paintings of the Virgin Mary, the Crucifixion, the goddess Athena and the Eastern camp.
As the room was located in the opposite direction, the dead man Dai Yongqiang's room was located in the deepest part of a long corridor, so I took a look at all the paintings on the wall on the way there, and saw that they were all deities.
I don't know what the boss is thinking, but there are so many deities from different sects that are not afraid of fighting in one place.
When I reached room 501, the picture hanging in the deepest corner of the room caught my attention.
It was a seven feet wide open picture of a Chinese painting, depicting five small, green-faced people with fangs. These people held umbrellas, carrying poles, gold ingots, brushes, and abacuses in their hands, respectively. Behind the small person was a large mountain.
However, what made me feel strange was that while I was staring at these items, I vaguely felt that the eyes of the little fellow on the painting were moving, as though it was also staring at me.
I couldn't help but feel a chill run down my spine as I glanced over at the deer, who had already opened the door of room 501, and before we could enter the door creaked open and a musty smell greeted us.
"It's only been a few days, the smell is so strong."
I couldn't help but cover my nose as I walked in. There were heavy traces of life in the house, so I could tell that after Dai Yongqiang, this room had been locked up. After all, the clues were all in this room.
Lin Lu let me take a good look at him. I'm not a forensic major, so I can't tell you the truth, but I have a very direct impression of him.
"Don't you think that painting at the door of the room is strange?"
"It does seem a little bit, but it doesn't seem to be a Chinese painting. It seems to be a Japanese one, but it's true that it's a Chinese painting by looking at its ink and water skills, but so what?" Lin Lu seemed to disagree with what I had said.
I told her to go back and read more books, not to just read science, and to tell her:
"If I'm not mistaken, the painting on this wall should be the Five Devils, which is the legendary Five Devils' fortune."
"It's just a painting. So what if it's a painting of the Netherworld?" When Lin Lu heard my serious expression, she seemed to become impatient and interrupted me. My expression was as though I hated myself for not being able to meet my expectations. She continued to listen to me and said,
"The Five Devils are the most powerful magic in China, but the Five Devils are evil spirits, so when drawing the Five Devils, one must be equipped with the Heavenly Master Zhong to be able to suppress them. If not, then the five Devils would be able to have fun."
After I said this, I asked Lin Lu to take a look again to see if the painting on the wall had only the Five Devils, not Zhong Kui.
"So what? Do you think the ghost on the wall will kill Dai Yongqiang?" Lin Lu felt that I was being a bit unreasonable, so he knocked on one of the ghosts in the picture on the wall.
The one that happened to hit the tree, but then I heard a faint whoop.
The sound was not much different from the sound of a mouse. It was so slow that one couldn't hear it at all.
"You … Did you hear anything? "
I kept feeling weird and asked Lin Lu about it. The girl shook her head and I couldn't help but look at the painting. I saw the ghost sitting on the tree tilt his body slightly as if he was about to fall from the tree.
When I first saw it, I clearly remembered that the ghost on the tree was sitting on a branch with its legs crossed. It was neutral, but now it had changed its position, and its eyes were tightly closed as if it was looking at a deer.
"I'm going to tell you that the ghost in this painting has moved. Do you believe me?" I was a little scared, so I couldn't help but pull Lin Lu back two steps. The girl stared at me and said,
"Stop trying to scare me like that. I'm not scared. You're just trying to scare me with these things. Do you think you're a three year old child?"
"Really." I saw it for real and understood what was going on, but for the moment I couldn't explain it to Lin Lu. I could only hold her hand and try to force myself to leave the corridor, but before I could do so, I heard a light go on in the corridor and all the lights went out.
The camera was like an old horror movie where evil spirits were about to appear. Lin Lu screamed out in fear, but in the end, she was still a medical examiner, so she quickly regained her composure.
