C11 You Are also Angry!

Xu Lin's entrance stirred up a buzz in the private room. His gaze landed on Yue Feng, who was cozily flanked by companions in the center. Xu Lin remained unfazed.

"You really should change your clothes if you're going to be this disgraceful," Gu Xing's grating voice echoed in Xu Lin's ears, irking him. Just then, the alarm system blared, and Yue Feng rose to his feet, his face stormy, a gleaming blade peeking out from behind him.

"You're not wrong; I do find your outfit rather appealing," Xu Lin quipped, the corners of his mouth tilting upward as his face darkened ominously. Gu Xing was momentarily taken aback, only to be hit by a powerful surge of air. In an instant, he was sent flying by Xu Lin's formidable grip.

The incident unfolded so swiftly that everyone in the room was left dumbfounded for a long stretch. The music continued its raucous play, but within seconds, screams erupted as the women scattered in panic.

Yue Feng's legs tingled with numbness as he fixed his gaze on the demonic figure of Xu Lin, haunted by the image of Xu Lin's robust arm. The muscle definition was impressive, but no human arm should look like that!

"What are you, Xu Lin, some kind of monster?" Yue Feng backed away with each step, Xu Lin matching his pace, driving him back toward Gu Xing.

"I, Xu Lin, have my limits, but there's only so much I can take. Three minutes of patience was a courtesy to you," Xu Lin declared, not one for idle chatter. But everything had its breaking point, and he was ready to take action.

He was about to bring his fist down when an elderly voice called out from the doorway, "Young man, please, show some restraint!"

Xu Lin turned to see an old man with a commanding presence, his age belied by the air of authority he exuded.

Interrupted in his moment of righteous indignation, Xu Lin held back, wondering, "Who's this now?"

"Xu Lin, what are you doing here?" Yue Yuqing emerged from behind the old man, her eyes widening at the chaos inside the room.

As Yue Yuqing approached, Xu Lin, puzzled, inquired, "Is that you?"

He wasn't well-acquainted with the renowned school beauty, so Yue Yuqing's appearance caught him off guard.

"You again, causing trouble?"

Yue Yuqing shed her usual gentle demeanor, her gaze falling sternly on Yue Feng, who was shivering on the ground, taking on the role of the authoritative older sister.

Xu Lin glanced at the elderly man, piecing together their relationship.

"The kids at home can be thoughtless. Please, pay it no mind." The old man suddenly spoke up, approaching Xu Lin and extending his business card.

Drawing on his years of experience in the martial arts world, he could tell that Xu Lin was no ordinary youth.

Xu Lin accepted the business card. The Yue family wasn't known for being overbearing, except for Yue Feng.

"Enough of this."

Xu Lin was ready to walk away when Yue Yuqing blocked his path, asking, "Where are you headed?"

Confused, Xu Lin watched as Yue Yuqing scratched her head and glanced at the old man, saying, "Grandpa, you go on ahead. I'll take care of the mess here."

The old man, with an air of otherworldly wisdom, nodded slightly and effortlessly hoisted the towering figure of Yue Feng, leaving without another word.

Xu Lin watched, dumbfounded. Yue Yuqing approached him, "Xu, I'm sorry for the trouble. Let me apologize for today's incident. I've got a car; I can give you a ride home."

"No, that's okay. Thank you."

Xu Lin, keen to avoid further issues, declined outright. But Yue Yuqing was persistent, following him until he reluctantly accepted her offer.

After a ride home in Yue Yuqing's car, Xu Lin expressed his gratitude and quickly departed.

The incident at the KTV became the talk of the school the next day, and Xu Lin's reputation skyrocketed overnight.

As his followers grew, Xu Lin wasn't content to rest on his laurels. He pooled some money and ventured into investing.

To his surprise, his funds doubled within a year. Freshly graduated, Xu Lin decided to pursue his career with vigor, balancing work and study.

Seizing the opportunity presented by Crismond's economic overhaul, Xu Lin anonymously acquired a film company.

Under his leadership, the once-fledgling film company was revitalized, shedding its former decline. Stars rose to fame one after another, and Xu Lin reveled in his success.

As his career soared, Xu Lin continued to keep a low profile in his dealings.

Yue Yuqing remained by Xu Lin's side, juggling a part-time role within the company even as it expanded.

Prior to the company's acquisition, most senior executives were groomed by the Chu family. Xu Lin, though new to his position, chose not to purge the ranks, retaining most of the staff.

He also concealed his true identity, assuming an unassuming role to come and go within the company daily. Yet, he entrusted Chu Lan with the company's reins. With the change in legal representation, his judgment of people was spot-on; this relatively unknown woman proved capable of shouldering the responsibility.

The company saw a change at the top, and Chu Lan found herself in the highest position quite unexpectedly. Her initial joy was short-lived, as the promotion came without a pay raise, a situation that seemed inherently unfair. Moreover, she was tasked with the training of promising new talent and the scheduling of top celebrities, keeping her incredibly busy.

Upon seeing Xu Lin lounging on the sofa, soaking up the sunlight in his opulent office, she couldn't resist barging in. Slapping the documents in her hand, a resume slipped out of the folder. "You seem to live as leisurely as the Old Master of Crismond, never seen working!"

Xu Lin, who had been resting with his eyes closed, was contemplating how to resurrect Yim Jiuge, whom he had recently subdued at Riverheart Villa, using a ring. His thoughts were abruptly interrupted by the intruder.

Opening his eyes, Xu Lin quipped, "Give it another forty years!"

He picked up the resume and glanced at the photo of the delicate-looking young girl, pausing in surprise.

The girl, Luo Jiu, had a pleasant face, but Xu Lin discerned a trace of malice in her features.

"I just can't figure it out. You're neither the heir nor a shareholder. Are you perhaps the boss's secret love child?"

Xu Lin laughed, handed back the resume, and stood up to playfully tap Chu Lan on the head. She was sharp-witted; since the company's overhaul, his identity had been under constant scrutiny.

Thankfully, his secrecy was impeccable, or she would have unraveled him by now.

"Let's grab some hotpot after we clock out."

"If you're paying, count me in!" Chu Lan said, watching Xu Lin walk away, her laughter making her hair bounce with joy.

After a full day's work, Chu Lan was finally off. She had been waiting outside the office for quite a while, not for Xu Lin, but instead, she ended up waiting for trouble.

"Lanlan, waiting for me?"

Yang Zhendong approached with a grin, reaching out to wrap his arm around Chu Lan's waist, but she swiftly dodged his grasp.

Seeing his irritation, she snapped, "What, not over me yet?"

"Yang Zhendong, you're like a relentless burr. Better back off, or I won't hold back!" Chu Lan loathed Yang Zhendong, who had been hounding her for ages. Not having him arrested was already a display of her leniency.

"Oh, so this is your true feelings? Should've told me you didn't fancy me sooner, I could've been more... persuasive."

Yang Zhendong sneered, seizing her wrist with ill intentions.

"Xu Lin, for heaven's sake, help me!"

Desperate to escape, Chu Lan looked up to see Xu Lin stepping off the elevator, a sight that felt like salvation.

Xu Lin strode over and kicked the man away, only then realizing it was Yang Zhendong. Talk about a small world.

"Kid, you messing up my plans?"

Yang Zhendong cursed and whipped out his phone. Xu Lin, seeing this, quickly ushered Chu Lan into his car and headed straight for the hotpot place.

To calm Chu Lan down, Xu Lin booked a private room. Just as the food arrived, the Yang family barged in en masse.

"Which one of you is Xu Lin?"

Yang Zhendong's mother, with her fierce, almond-shaped eyes, looked like a woman not to be trifled with. Spotting Xu Lin, Yang Zhendong pointed him out, "There he is!"

Ignoring her husband's attempts to restrain her, Yang Zhendong's mother charged forward, sleeves rolled up for a fight. Chu Lan stood to intercept her, but Xu Lin pulled her to safety behind him.

"You think you can mess with the Yang family and get away with it? Believe me, one phone call from me and you'll be behind bars!"

The voice of Yang Zhendong's mother was thunderous with fury, so much so that even the usually brash Yang Zhendong seemed diminished by her rage.

Xu Lin remained calm and collected, a smile playing on his lips as a hint of anger crept onto his face. "If you truly had that kind of clout, you wouldn't be making empty threats. If you can actually put me away, then perhaps I'll start taking the Yang family seriously."

Unable to tolerate this defiance, Yang Zhendong's mother lunged at Chu Lan. Xu Lin narrowed his eyes and effortlessly flung her aside, then proceeded to give Yang Zhendong a sound thrashing.

Fuming, Yang Zhendong's mother didn't relent and dialed her beloved brother.

"You'll all regret this! You little hooligan, you scoundrel, I'll make sure you both get what's coming to you today!"

"Thump, thump, thump!"

Soon after, a persistent knocking echoed at the door. Chu Lan opened it to find a middle-aged man standing there, his face etched with fear and cold sweat streaming down his forehead.

"Brother?"

Yang Zhendong's mother gazed at the newcomer in bewilderment. It was her brother, Yang Mingzhe, the police captain!

"Smack!"

Without a shred of courtesy, Yang Mingzhe delivered a sharp slap to her face and said icily, "I don't acknowledge a sister like you."

He was seething with resentment towards her. Of all people to provoke, she had to cross paths with King Yama?

Could she not see that even the formidable Chu family had been decimated by King Yama?

Now, although he was under King Yama's command, she had directly antagonized the man himself. Who else could she blame?

The slap left Yang Zhendong's mother dazed and confused. This wasn't how the story was supposed to go!

Wasn't he supposed to apprehend the young upstart before her? Why strike her instead?

Little did she know, the 'brat' she faced was none other than the feared King Yama of Crismond, a name that sent shivers down the spines of all in Crismond.

And how could she possibly comprehend the extent of power that the man before her wielded?

"Brother, I'm your sister! How could you hit me? That brat hit me. Send someone to arrest him right now!"

Yang Zhendong's mother persisted in her tirade, but at that moment, Yang Zhendong's father tugged at the hem of her garment.

Was he like Yang Zhendong's mother, oblivious to what was beneficial and blind to the gravity of the situation? Barely ten minutes had passed since he had summoned his brother-in-law, and the man had hurried over without delay. How could he not grasp the significance of that?

And why? Because his brother-in-law, the police captain, was no match for the other party, who could outpace him by miles!

"Ugh! Why are you pulling at me? I'm speaking to my brother! Just get out of my face!"

Yang Zhendong's mother protested.

"Smack!"

Another harsh slap left a crimson imprint on Yang Zhendong's mother's cheek.

"Foolish woman, are you trying to get us all killed?" Yang Zhendong's father hissed with icy disdain.
