C1 Too Outrageous!!
Mu Jin gazed at her reflection in the river, her deep blue eyes blinking rapidly as she slipped into contemplation.
Judging by the reflection...
She could confirm it without a doubt.
Despite her tousled hair, the face staring back was unmistakably that of Kiana Kaslana, one of the main characters from Honkai Impact 3rd!
Her lovely features, marred by her sour mood, had stripped away the aloof, goddess-like demeanor, leaving her resembling a husky that had lost its rigidity.
"Damn it, what on earth is happening... This is infuriating!"
Mu Jin sat despondently on the riverbank, her hair unkempt, the very image of a crazed soul on the brink of a river plunge.
All she had been doing was passing by to pick up some groceries when something, thrown by someone, struck her on the head.
She was out like a light.
And when she came to, she found herself here.
Welcome to the world of Genshin Impact. Greetings, I am the system from the "Valkyrja Paradise Project." Since the physical body in your original world has perished, we have dispatched both the compensation and the beginner's gift packs to your mailbox. Please claim them at your earliest convenience.
Huh?!
What in the world?!
System?! Why does that name sound so dubious?!
Genshin Impact's world? So she's in the Teyvat Continent now? Is it Mondstadt? Or Liyue?
Could it be an unfamiliar start in Inazuma??
To her surprise, as she was quietly pondering, a transparent page popped up before her eyes.
Your current points are 0.
The Points Mall is locked until you reach 20 points.
Valkyrja's Domain Equipment and the Kaslana Character Card have been unlocked.
The supply box remains locked until Valkyrja reaches level 7.
Daily missions available: 0/4
You have two unclaimed emails.
??
Is this it?
"This is just pathetic," Mu Jin grumbled under her breath, yet her fingers dutifully tapped to open the unclaimed emails.
Compensation Gift Pack: 200 Crystals, and a half-hour trial card for the God-defying Miko, Yae Sakura.
Beginner's Gift Pack: 300 Crystals, five Standard Supply Cards, and three of Mei's Bentos (each replenishing 60% stamina).
...This crystal couldn't possibly be the kind used for drawing character cards, could it?
Mu Jin grimaced as she recalled her previous gaming misadventures, where she always ended up with the guaranteed minimum draw. It was one thing to hit rock bottom, but consistently pulling characters outside of the featured pool was downright disheartening.
The email confirmation came through, and the system announced it was entering sleep mode, maintaining only essential functions. "Enjoy your new life in this fresh world," it chimed.
"Hold on! Isn't there supposed to be a tutorial for beginners?!"
But no matter how desperately Mu Jin called out, the system remained silent, as if it had vanished into thin air.
This system was utterly unreliable!
Left with no other choice, Mu Jin stood up to face the harsh reality and surveyed her surroundings.
She glanced down at her scantily clad Valkyrja armor and felt a twinge of relief that the system had at least left her a coat for modesty's sake.
Otherwise, she'd be too embarrassed to even approach strangers for directions in such revealing attire.
But surely, she wouldn't get lost in such a vast forest, right?
Damn it all!
Mu Jin had been wandering lost in this forest for two whole days without a soul in sight!
Stupid system! Where on earth did you dump me?!
Her once pristine silver hair was now a tangled, filthy mess, making her look like a vagrant.
Parched and starving...
She also had to stay vigilant for those creatures known as the Qiu people.
Mu Jin had played Genshin Impact for some time but had stopped just before the Inazuma update. The storyline beyond that was a mystery to her.
Wiping the sweat from her cheeks, Mu Jin clutched a baseball bat—the default weapon provided by the system—now smeared with greenish blood.
Over the last couple of days, she had dispatched many of the Qiu people and earned some points, but not nearly enough to access the points mall.
With a bit of luck, she stumbled upon some supply boxes hidden in odd locations, each yielding a small number of crystals.
Single-digit crystals, stingy to the core.
Mu Jin accessed the Valkyrja page.
The Domain Equipment and the White Training page were still active, while the rest of the Valkyrja pages remained dim.
Seeing the flashy Valkyrja, Mu Jin couldn't help but feel a pang of envy.
Currently, Mu Jin had leveled up her domain equipment to level 6 in a flash, but the supply box wouldn't unlock until level 7.
Plus, over the last couple of days, Mu Jin had finally gotten the hang of the system's offerings.
Beyond the frustrating treasure chests and daily tasks, the only other way to earn crystals was...
Boosting her favorability.
Who would've thought her broad-browed, big-eyed system would operate like that?
And the system, still not fully dormant and ever so principled, sensed Mu Jin's inner musings. Of course, it had to... endure...
The system has no rights (a machine shedding tears).
Oblivious to the system's musings, Mu Jin simply rubbed her cheeks, sat beneath a tree, and seized the moment to claim her daily mission rewards.
The tasks were straightforward:
Defeat 10 Hilichurls daily (Newbie Protection Period)
Defeat 5 Slimes daily
Cook 1 meal daily
(With a cooking proficiency of 5%, your culinary creations could potentially poison a grown man.)
Slay 1 pigeon daily
She could net about 50 crystals and 300 experience points each day, meaning just one more day of tasks would unlock that supply box!
This was a gold mine compared to the daily chore of rummaging through those dilapidated chests!
Although her body seemed to cook on pure instinct...
Truth be told, each time she personally prepared a meal, she braced herself to eat it.
In the Kaslana household, not blowing up the kitchen counted as a culinary triumph!
Still a wanderer at heart, Mu Jin was content with just having something to eat.
She was determined not to let Yu eat that lunchbox named after Mei, out of sheer compassion.
She found herself longing for the instant noodles that were scorned in her past life.
"Wuwuwuwuwu... When will I ever get out of here? Wuwuwuwuwu..."
The more she dwelled on it, the more frustrated she became. Mu Jin's composure crumbled, and she threw a tantrum like a child.
That is until her gaze met that of a brown, bear-like creature.
"Hmm, you look tasty... Hey... wait, don't run away!"
It was a rare sight to come across a living creature that bore no malice toward her!
How could she possibly let it escape now?!
"Rice crust! Where have you been? I've been searching for you forever...! Wuwaa!"
Mu Jin, having been lost in the forest for two days, felt a wave of relief wash over her at the sound of a young girl's cry. Her pursuit of the creature slowed.
The only thing on her mind was...
Damn it... At last... I've found someone... I won't have to eat my own charred fish in the forest anymore... Wuwuwuwu...
Suddenly, darkness enveloped Mu Jin's vision, and she passed out.
