C2 I Suspect That the Dog System Is Causing Trouble!

When Mu Jin came to from her coma, the first thing that met her eyes was a brown creature resembling a bear cub, intently staring at her.

"Wuwaa!" Startled, she clutched the blanket and scurried to the corner of the bed, instinctively searching for her baseball bat for protection.

"Guoba! You've frightened the patient!"

"Gululu..." Guoba, the creature in question, trudged over to the girl's side, looking rather downcast.

Mu Jin let out a sigh of relief, her nerves still jangled from the scare she'd received upon awakening.

She took in her surroundings with a careful eye. The room was suffused with the subtle scent of Chinese medicine and decorated in a style she recognized from period dramas. Had she been rescued and taken to an herbal pharmacy?

"Are you alright? I've cooked up some porridge for you. Bai Shu mentioned you fainted due to irregular eating habits. Have some now, so you can take your medicine afterward," said a girl with deep blue hair and pale golden eyes, approaching with a bowl of freshly cooked porridge. She had a ponytail tied at the back of her head.

As an avid player of Primordial God, Mu Jin immediately recognized the girl as the four-star War God Xiangling, along with her companion... ahem, Guoba!

Still, it seemed wiser to feign ignorance for now. Playing the unknowing part often garnered more sympathy.

There's a saying that playing the amnesia card is incredibly handy—it can get you out of any scrape.

Mu Jin eyed Xiangling warily, though her stomach betrayed her with its earnest growling.

"Oh dear, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Xiangling, the chef and server at Wanmin Restaurant! And this is Guoba, who found you!" Guoba let out a sound, and upon closer inspection, was quite endearing.

"...I, I'm Mu Jin..."

It must have been a while since she'd had a proper meal because at the sight of the simple white porridge, Mu Jin's stomach embarrassingly grumbled again.

In the quiet of the room, the rumbling of her stomach was unmistakably audible to Xiangling.

"Then you should eat up quickly! I'll go prepare the medicine," Xiangling said, setting the porridge down in front of Mu Jin before dashing off.

Once Xiangling had left, Guoba, with its short legs, bounced along after her.

She massaged her face, and with renewed spirit, she lifted the bowl and began to eat!

Rescued by Xiangling, this must be Liyue, right?

Thankfully, she had some knowledge of Liyue's storyline. Had she been in Inazuma, she would have been utterly clueless.

She wondered if the Traveler had managed to find Paimon yet.

Was it Aether? Or perhaps Lumine?

Mu Jin secretly hoped it was the adorable Lumine; a girl's charm was always a sight for sore eyes.

Oh, hold on a second...

Mu Jin realized something very serious.

Her current body was that of Kiana Kaslana.

And the Traveler's greatest enemy, the Herrscher of the Eonothem, shared the same model in the game as Kiana.

As Kiana, with her hair down and different eye color, she feared a backstab from the Traveler if seen only from behind.

If she actually encountered the Traveler, would she end up on the receiving end of a beating?

Mu Jin, spoon in mouth, faced the greatest challenge of her life.

No, she hadn't done anything wrong, but it was best not to flaunt Kiana's face in front of the Traveler.

She needed to quickly farm crystals and win over others' affections, aiming to summon other Valkyrjas!

Even using Kiana's Character Card, she had to draw other, stronger Kiana Character Cards first.

Her current Domain equipment, the White Comet, was truly ineffective—training in it would be in vain.

She had to be strong enough to defend herself against an enraged Traveler with this face.

Mu Jin nibbled at her porridge, simultaneously summoning the system page in her mind, adeptly multitasking.

Character Card: Mu Jin (Kiana Kaslana)

Strength: 20 (10% higher than an average adult male, capable of easily defeating ordinary Hilichurls.)

Intelligence: 9 (Slightly smarter than a child, but hey, a youthful spirit has its perks!)

Charm: 50 (Thanks to Kiana Kaslana's inherent beauty, she can activate the passive trait, Goddess of the Moon, granting a 10% increase in favorability from anyone who sees her.)

(Small Tip: If your Charm reaches an exceedingly high level, you might just catch the attention of the divine.)

System Notification: Genshin's main character, Xiangling, now has a 25% favorability towards you (She thinks you're quite beautiful and you seem like a pitiable girl).

Since Xiangling's favorability has surpassed 20%, 50 crystals have been dispatched to your email. Host, please be sure to check and claim them. Wishing you a joyful life.

Host, do remember that as you increase favorability... there will also be dark...

The system's message was cut off abruptly as the page was forcibly closed.

Overcome with excitement, Mu Jin nearly leapt out of bed.

Wow!

I didn't realize that earning crystals through raising favorability would be so fast!

Although Xiangling's first impression of her was... somewhat odd.

No matter! The race for crystals is on!

Mu Jin's eyes sparkled as she hastily left the page and switched to her email.

Gazing at the fifty crystals in the email, she could almost feel a continuous flow of crystals coming her way!

But... how to further increase favorability?

It's easy with girls; they can get close without any reservations... but with boys...

Mu Jin just couldn't bring herself to do it.

She'd rather die on the spot than work on increasing a male character's favorability!

But really, she just wasn't that into male characters.

To put it bluntly, Mu Jin was all about the ladies.

She gleefully pocketed the fifty crystals, effectively snagging a day's worth of daily mission crystals for free. Who wouldn't be thrilled?

Mu Jin warmed her hands, eyeing her crystal count, which was nearing 1000.

She had saved up quite a bit while treasure hunting and battling Hilichurls in the forest.

With the five standard supply cards from the system's newbie gift pack, Mu Jin only needed to gather another 1400 crystals to unleash a ten-pull!

She wondered what she might pull next!

Landing a strong Character Card would be ideal! That way, she wouldn't feel so timid in the face of other travelers...

Unaware that the system had reduced her winning odds, Mu Jin was still lost in dreams of her next big ten-pull haul.

After finishing her porridge, Mu Jin, bored out of her mind, threw back the covers to find her Valkyrja armor still perfectly intact, though her coat had mysteriously disappeared.

Mu Jin felt the cool air against her chest and, despite the embarrassment, knew she had to find her coat.

Her yearning to draw a different Character Card intensified; even Kiana's Ranger Character Card would be a vast improvement over the constricting armor she currently wore.

Upon opening the door, Mu Jin was greeted by the potent aroma of Chinese medicine.

The scent alone was enough to taste the bitterness.

She wrinkled her nose instinctively, surveying the courtyard.

Xiangling was squatting attentively, while a rice crust nearby emitted a steady flame.

It appeared she was brewing Chinese medicine, the source of the acrid smoke filling the courtyard.

This isn't for me to drink, is it?

Xiangling, catching Mu Jin's gaze, turned and beamed at her.

"You're just in time! The medicine will be ready soon! Just a bit longer!"

Oh, what a curse.

Mu Jin silently reprimanded herself.

She had always detested the harsh taste of medicine. Seeing Mu Jin's lackluster demeanor, Xiangling blinked and smoothly shifted the conversation. "By the way, I never got to ask why you were at Wuwang Hill."

Mu Jin chose to feign ignorance.

"Wuwang Hill? Where's that?"

Xiangling, peering into Mu Jin's puzzled eyes, chose not to enlighten her about the place.

"Well, if you don't know, then you don't. But do you know where you came from?"

Mu Jin shook her head, perfecting her act of cluelessness.

"Sorry... I actually have no idea where this is. Miss Xiangling, could you tell me where we are?"

I certainly can't reveal that I've crossed over from the afterlife.

"Rice crust, stop the fire!"

Xiangling set the freshly brewed medicine aside to cool; it was far too hot to drink.

Once everything was in order, she stood and faced the silver-haired girl, roughly her own height.

Xiangling had tidied her up since finding her, and now, with her silver-white hair flowing, Mu Jin exuded the grace of a well-bred young lady.

Scratching her head with a sheepish grin, Xiangling said, "I initially thought you were a foreigner from Mondstadt."

"But after hearing you introduce yourself, I think you bear a striking resemblance to the people of Liyue."

"Really? Well, to be honest, I'm not sure where I'm from either..." Mu Jin offered a wry smile. Since her untimely demise, she had arrived in this place less than half a month ago. So much had happened in such a short time.

"Oh, Miss Xiangling, since we're in Liyue, could you tell me more about it?"

"Absolutely! I'd be delighted to give you a thorough introduction to Liyue!"

"But first, I need to take you to the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor."

"The Wangsheng Funeral Parlor?" Mu Jin echoed, her curiosity piqued.

She knew what the place was for, but why was Xiangling heading there now?

Xiangling scratched her cheek, her expression tinged with awkwardness. "Well... my last trip to Wuwang Hill was to meet someone, and instead, I ended up finding you. I accidentally stood her up, so I owe her an apology."

No sooner had Xiangling finished speaking than a detached voice echoed in Mu Jin's mind.

Kiana Kaslana, you have a time-limited mission. Please reach an understanding with Hu Tao, the seventy-seventh Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, and collaborate to promote the culture of the Funeral Parlor.
