Just as Seventh Army was reorganizing herself in the Prowling Stream, Li Boyang personally led the main forces of the Third Division to the outskirts of Dian at dawn on October 9th to formally engage in an exchange of fire with the Dian's garrison.

The Dian City was located in the middle section of the Nanxun Road, which was commonly known as the "Chu Wei Wu Tou"
