C7 Yun Siyu
"Hahaha," Qin Biao scoffed throatily, his laughter tinged with mockery.
"You... just drop dead!"
Duan Hao was on the brink of madness. Today, he had been humiliated several times in front of his junior sister. First, it was the giant ape's desperate struggle, and his own underestimation of the adversary that had caused his embarrassment.
But now, a little squirrel?
Whoosh!
The Cold Soul Sword was drawn, its tip pressing against Qin Biao's stomach.
"Even if you've swallowed it, I'll extract it from your belly today!" Duan Hao's eyes were bloodshot as he spoke.
Once the Snake Saliva Fruit entered Qin Biao's stomach, it transformed into a burning spiritual force, combating the chill of the Cold Soul Sword while simultaneously scorching Qin Biao's body.
Qin Biao could feel it—he was on the verge of death.
Well...
If death was his fate, then so be it. It wasn't his first time facing the end, after all.
He just hoped that in his next life, if he had a choice, he wouldn't be reborn as a squirrel.
The feeling of being utterly powerless, at the mercy of another, was truly despairing.
"Senior Brother, please be merciful!" As Qin Biao closed his eyes, bracing for the end, the woman's voice echoed once more.
The sword's tip halted just an inch from Qin Biao's chest, nicking his skin and allowing a trickle of blood to seep out.
"I'm vouching for this squirrel!" The woman's icy voice filled the cramped cave with an air of unwavering resolve.
Duan Hao's grip on the Cold Soul Sword wavered, his resolve shaken.
Should he complete the mission and risk alienating his junior sister, or should he offer her a favor and risk mission failure?
"If you spare this little one, Senior Brother, I assure you, you won't be at a loss," the woman offered, giving Duan Hao an out. "You're after the Snake Saliva Fruit, right? It's yours."
With that, she produced a jade box and tossed it to Duan Hao.
Catching the box, Duan Hao opened it to find the Snake Saliva Fruit indeed.
"Junior Sister, if you already had the Snake Saliva Fruit, why did you have me take on this mission? Was it just to see me make a fool of myself?" Duan Hao couldn't hide his irritation as he spoke.
The woman's laughter seemed to make the surrounding radiance pale in comparison.
She smiled charmingly and said, "Senior brother, you're such a proud person. If I offered it to you directly, you'd surely refuse. My thought was to wait until you couldn't find the Snake Saliva Fruit, then 'happen' upon it and give it to you. Wouldn't that be delightful?"
In truth, the woman was thinking: Why should I have to give anything to you?
Duan Hao sullenly sheathed the Cold Soul Sword. Despite his irritation, he handed Qin Biao over to the woman.
Cradling Qin Biao in her arms, she inhaled slightly, and a subtle, enchanting fragrance filled the air, bringing a sense of tranquility and pleasure.
Looking up at the woman's face from such a close distance, Qin Biao was struck by her stunning beauty.
The only phrase that came to his mind that could describe her flawless features was "breathtakingly beautiful."
Her eyes, in particular, were a deep blue, reminiscent of ageless ice, yet brimming with life. Her gaze seemed to reach into the depths of one's soul.
"Little one, hello. My name is Yun Siyu. From now on, you'll be with me, alright?" Siyu playfully teased Qin Biao with a straw she had found.
Hey, I'm not a cat! And if you're so capable, why not lift this restriction on me?
Seeing Qin Biao's almost human-like disdain, Siyu chuckled, "Little one, don't want to follow me? Then I might have to hand you back to Senior Brother..."
A bead of cold sweat formed on Qin Biao's forehead. Could she be serious?
"Haha, I'm just kidding. After all the trouble I went through to get you from Senior Brother, why would I send you to your doom?"
Watching Siyu's continuous laughter, Duan Hao felt a mix of happiness and a twinge of jealousy. He had been with her for so long without seeing her smile, yet she laughed so freely with someone she had just met.
But Duan Hao quickly found himself smiling too.
"I, Duan Hao, am not so petty as to be jealous of a Little Demon that hasn't even mastered Shape Transforming," he thought to himself.
"Little guy... I can't just keep calling you 'little guy.' I need to give you a proper name..." Yun Siyu was too preoccupied to be concerned with whether Duan Hao was feeling jealous or not; she was fully engaged in playing with Qin Biao.
Yun Siyu furrowed her brow in thought before suggesting, "Your fur is as white as snow. How about the name White Snow?"
White Snow?
Are you sure that's not a girl's name?
Sure, I'm a snow-white squirrel, but I'm male, through and through! How does the name "White Snow," with its feminine ring, suit me?
And another thing... Are you certain you're older than me? Considering my two lifetimes, I'm probably your senior. Calling me White Snow doesn't seem very respectful!
"Do you like the name?" Yun Siyu asked with a smile, glancing at Qin Biao.
Qin Biao vehemently shook his head.
I don't like it! Not one bit!
But have I really resigned myself to the fate of being a pet?
"You seem quite spirited, almost as if you do like the name. Maybe I have a knack for naming after all..." The young woman's mood was ever poetic, her happiness easily sparked by the acceptance of a name she chose, a stark contrast to the composed quietude she maintained in front of Duan Hao.
But oh, the naivety of youth! Does this squirrel look like he's fond of the name?
Despite Qin Biao's protests, it seemed he couldn't escape the moniker "White Snow."
Yun Siyu persisted in calling out "White Snow, White Snow" near Qin Biao's ear, who could only feign deafness, as if she were calling someone else entirely.
"Junior Sister, since we've both got what we came for, how about we head back to the sect together?" Duan Hao approached Yun Siyu, his face beaming as he continued his solicitous behavior.
Yun Siyu, who had not forgotten Duan Hao's earlier demeanor, was not inclined to feign affection in return. Yet, as fellow sect members, there was a bond of camaraderie to consider.
With a dignified nod, Yun Siyu picked up Qin Biao and followed behind Duan Hao.
Curiously, ever since Qin Biao's body had reached the size of a young leopard, it hadn't grown any larger. However, the strength within him continued to increase.
Qin Biao was gathering his strength, determined to shatter the binding spell in one fell swoop. He kept a watchful eye on his surroundings, looking for a chance to make his escape.
Being someone's pet was certainly not the future Qin Biao had envisioned for himself!
But he was trapped; Siyu's vigilance left him no opportunity to flee.
To make matters worse, Duan Hao was lurking with predatory intent. If Qin Biao so much as stepped away from Siyu's side, his life would be in grave danger.
Qin Biao resolved internally: First, I need to find a way to break free from this restriction, then I can plan my escape.
