C5 Thorn Defense Wall
In the evening, Arslan arrived at the west side of the tribe.
The Beautine Clan was located in a place with three mountains surrounding it. Only the west side of the tribe was left open. The west side of the tribe was a relatively low forest. The raiders from before had entered the tribe from here.
What Arslan wanted to do was to build a protective wall on one side of the tribe!
"First, dig such a deep trench from here to there. Then, bury the tree branches!" As Arslan spoke, he picked up a bone blade and started digging on the ground. Then, he picked up a three-meter long tree branch and inserted it into the ground. He stepped on it with his feet.
He stood up, picked up the bone blade, and drew a line at the foot of the mountain not far away from where he had buried the tree branches. He said, "All the tree branches are buried so deep like me!"
"Yes!" Mull responded.
"Also, when the tree branches are buried from here to the other side, pile up the stones behind the tree. Just like this!"
As he spoke, Arslan lifted up the stones and piled them up one by one, just like how he had built a wall in his previous life.
"What is this for?" Mull was confused. He carefully walked to Arslan and asked, "Grand Sheikh, what are you doing doing doing all this?"
Arslan thought for a moment and tried to say it to him in a simple way, "I want to build a wall here to protect the tribe!"
"Walls?" Mull was dumbfounded. "Protect the tribe?"
Arslan was truly speechless. Mull didn't even know what 'wall' was.
However, after thinking about it, he felt relieved. After all, the entire tribe, and even the entire era, was still in a state of ignorance.
"The wall can block the people outside and not let them easily enter the tribe!" Arslan explained as he personally built the tree branches.
After burying the tree branches for two to three meters, he started to build the wall again.
Some of the stones were not flat, so he used a small piece of stone to knock it down and smash the protruding parts before he built them back up.
Mull was stunned when he saw this. No one in the tribe had ever done this before, and no one knew what the meaning of this was.
He squatted down obediently and built the stones with Arslan. While he was building the stones, he asked, "Chieftain, the wall is so high that no one can come in. How are we going to get out?"
"Oh!" Arslan suddenly remembered something and quickly stood up and said, "Don't bury the tree branches here and don't build the wall!"
He remembered that he seemed to have forgotten where the door was.
Fortunately, the tree branches had not reached the position that he had mentioned, so he did not waste any time.
Dozens of people worked together, and it didn't take long for the tree branches to be buried. They formed a fence around the perimeter, and the stone wall was behind it, forming a wall.
Arslan looked at the gaps on the wall and wanted to add some mud to it to reinforce it. However, he realized that it was very difficult for the tribe to use water, so he gave up. At the same time, he remembered that after solving the problem of food, he would have to solve the problem of drinking water.
He glanced at the system and saw that there was also a mission to solve the water source problem. The achievement points were 300 points.
However, compared to drinking water, the safety and sustenance of the tribe was obviously more important. Therefore, this matter could only be put on hold for the time being.
Seeing that the fence and stone wall had already been built, Arslan said, "Now, bury the firethorn roots that we dug away near the frame tree, and then put the firethorn roots on the frame tree!"
"Ah?"
"This..."
A wave of exclamations came from the crowd.
The reason why firethorn trees were called firethorn trees was because they looked like modern climbing roses with thorns on them.
However, the firethorn trees were thicker than the vines of the roses, and the thorns were longer. The short ones were about an inch long, and the long ones were about two inches long!
When they dug out the firethorn roots, many of them had already been injured. Now, they had to bury them near the frame tree. It was inevitable that some of them would be injured.
"Chieftain, this is..." Mull wanted to say something, but stopped himself.
Just as Arslan was about to explain, he noticed that Popit had come over with the old chief.
"Grandpa!" Arslan went forward to support the old man.
The old man reached out his hand and placed it on Arslan's arm. He looked at the defensive wall that had been built, and then looked at the firethorn roots that were being buried. He asked in confusion, "What is this for?"
Arslan explained patiently, "This is Meng Chun. The tree can still sprout and grow after being buried. The firethorn can also grow up along the tree and form a defensive wall with the tree. If someone wants to rob the Beautine Clan, they must pass through this wall that is filled with thorns!"
The old man's eyes lit up as he looked at Arslan in surprise. "This is really a good idea. Why didn't anyone think of it before?"
Mull and Popit, who were beside him, finally understood Arslan's intention. Their faces revealed surprise.
Arslan continued, "The most important thing for the tribe now is safety and food. Now that the tribe is safe, the next thing to do is to solve the problem of food."
As he spoke, he looked at Popit. "Uncle Popit, how much food do we have left?"
Popit's expression turned ugly. "There isn't much left. It's not enough for two days!"
"This..." Initially, Arslan had a bad plan in his heart, but he did not expect the situation to be so bad.
Mull lowered his head. "I was useless!"
Arslan waved his hand. "You have done very well, but the method you used was wrong. This time, I will follow you. I have a way to help you catch more prey!"
"Method?" Mull revealed a look of doubt on his face, but then he turned joyful, "More prey?"
"Yes!" Arslan nodded, "I have a way!"
"But..." Mull still wanted to argue. At the same time, he looked at the old man.
The old man did not say anything. He just looked at Arslan.
"I am the chief!" Arslan said firmly.
Mull could only agree.
