Ye Yu paid no attention to the commotion and kept walking toward the Ancient Treasure House.
"Damn it, you deaf or something?! Guys, circle him!"
The male security guard bellowed, prompting four other burly men from inside the Ancient Treasure House to rush out and encircle Ye Yu.
"Get on your knees and bow your head, or you're not leaving today!"
Upon hearing this, Ye Yu glanced at the nameplate on the chest of the security guard.
King Kong!
That's an orangutan's name!
"Hey, Baboon—no, orangutan—I'm laying down the law today. If you don't call me 'daddy,' I'll make sure you never have descendants!"
Silence fell around them, followed by an eruption of raucous laughter.
"You think you can take me on with that scrawny frame? I'll burst your head open with one punch!"
King Kong taunted, launching a heavy punch at Ye Yu's head.
The punch ruffled Ye Yu's hair, and the other security guards were sure the next moment would find Ye Yu sprawled on the ground, but instead, Ye Yu subtly shifted his stance and effortlessly dodged the blow.
King Kong threw several more punches, all of which Ye Yu evaded without a single one landing.
Humiliated in front of his peers, King Kong was seething with rage. He figured Ye Yu was just a skinny guy who was quick on his feet but couldn't take a hit. If they all struck at once, they could cut off his escape.
So he yelled, "Brothers, let's take him down together!"
Suddenly, five hefty figures lunged at Ye Yu.
Each security guard was easily over two hundred pounds. If they managed to pin him down, he'd be crushed into a pancake.
But Ye Yu remained calm. As the five men closed in, his hands formed into precise points, and with a rapid "pop pop pop pop pop," he tapped each of them.
In an instant, they were all frozen stiff, unable to move, and fell to the ground.
"Black magic?"
King Kong's eyes bulged, now only able to move his eyes and mouth.
"Don't be so shocked. What black magic? This is a traditional medical technique called acupoint pressing!"
Ye Yu explained as he moved closer to King Kong, his gaze fixed on King Kong's groin, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
"What are you doing? What are you doing?"
"What am I doing? I'm ensuring you'll never have descendants, of course!"
Ye Yu said this as he pressed a point on the inside of King Kong's thigh and then released his acupressure points.
A wave of excruciating pain instantly engulfed King Kong's entire body. He howled as he unbuckled his belt and peered inside.
"It's gone, it's gone! My manhood is gone!"
The other four, witnessing this, were struck with terror, breaking out in cold sweats.
At that moment, Ye Yu approached them, a mischievous grin on his face.
"You guys wanted to hit me just now. Oh, how terrified I was," Ye Yu feigned fear before his expression darkened, "I see you all get along so well, so you should share in his fate!"
With that, Ye Yu brandished his sword in front of them.
"No, young man, hear me out. Actually, we're not that close, so there's no need for us to suffer together."
"Yes, yes, we were foolish and didn't recognize your superiority. We're ready to bow down to you!"
The four men tried to prostrate themselves and plead for mercy, but they found they couldn't move at all, unable to even stand, let alone bow.
Seeing their plight, Ye Yu shook his head: "A gentleman's word is his bond. I think it's only right that you share in this consequence together!"
Ye Yu was about to proceed with their sterilization when he heard a voice from behind.
"Yu?"
Ye Yu turned to see a middle-aged man in a long robe standing there. He immediately recognized the man as Uncle Ren Hua.
Ren Hua was the leader of the Ancient Treasure House and had been close friends with Ye Yu's parents, hence his familiarity with Ye Yu.
"Oh, my apologies. I mistook you for someone else, someone who resembles the son of an old friend," Ren Hua scrutinized Ye Yu, though he recalled that Ye Yu's family had perished in a car accident a month prior. "May I ask your name, young man?"
Ren Hua had always treated Ye Yu kindly, bringing him gifts on each visit, which earned him Ye Yu's deep respect.
"Ye Rann!"
"Oh, your last name is Ye. Do you have any connection to the Ye family in West City?"
"What Ye family? I have no idea!"
The past was too painful to revisit. As for the Ye family, Ye Yu wanted nothing to do with them for the rest of his life. Besides, now that he was using the identity of Ye Rann, he certainly couldn't claim any kinship with the Ye family.
Ren Hua was momentarily at a loss for words, simply gazing at Ye Yu.
"Sect Master Ren, you have to save me. I'm done for, done for!"
King Kong clutched at Ren Hua's pant leg, snapping him out of his reverie.
Ren Hua looked from King Kong to the four security guards lying immobilized on the ground and, with a smile, pleaded with Ye Yu to spare them. He promised a visit to the Ancient Treasure House as a gesture of goodwill.
Seeing Uncle Ren step in to intercede, Ye Yu found it hard to refuse. Quickly and efficiently, he released the four security guards from their paralysis and turned his attention back to King Kong.
In truth, he hadn't emasculated King Kong; he had simply used a pressure point technique to retract his manhood temporarily, rendering it invisible for the time being.
Having settled matters with the five of them, Ren Hua kept his word and escorted Ye Yu into the Ancient Treasure House. But before they entered, he made sure Ye Yu turned off his cell phone.
The Ancient Treasure House was filled with numerous and exceptionally valuable treasures. To prevent the creation of replicas from photographs, the establishment enforced a strict rule requiring all visitors to switch off their phones before entering.
...
Inside the Yangquan Wine Cellar conference room.
"Yang Yi, consider how well Mr. Liu treats you. Give him the formula, and he'll increase your salary to 50,000 yuan a month!" Liu Meng sat next to Yang Yi, tempting her with the prospect of more money.
Yang Yi's current salary was 30,000 yuan a month. While not exorbitant, considering she hadn't even graduated yet and was earning this during her senior internship, it was quite impressive. Such a salary was rare, not just in Yangcheng but across all of Lunamis.
But outsiders only saw the surface of her success; they didn't witness the hard work behind it. They were unaware of the late nights she spent working until the early hours of the morning or the weekends she sacrificed for overtime. And on occasions when visiting her mother caused her to fall behind, she would pull all-nighters to catch up.
She was working tirelessly for two reasons: to earn money for her mother's medical treatment and to repay Mr. Liu's generosity for funding her university education. Yet, she had seen Mr. Liu's true colors. If not for her mother, she would have walked away without a second thought.
"I don't know the formula. The juice was mixed by someone named Ye Rann, who has already left Yangcheng. I have no idea where he might have gone," Yang Yi responded truthfully. It was nearing noon, and she suspected that Ye Yu had long since departed.
"That kid? But since he's left Yangcheng, then..." A spark of excitement lit up within her, and she quickly devised a cunning plan.
"Director Liu, Yang Yi and Ye Rann share a special bond. If she asks, Ye Rann will surely give up the juice formula. Then our Yangquan Wine Cellar will be back in business!" Liu Meng stroked his chin, pondered for a moment, and then nodded in agreement.
"Yang Yi, I'm giving you a day off. Go find Ye Rann. Whatever it takes, you must obtain that juice formula."
"But where do I even start looking?" When Yang Yi learned that Liu Meng was after the formula, she had tried calling Ye Yu multiple times, but his phone was off, and she was unable to reach him.
Finding someone in Yangcheng, though not a large city, was still a daunting task, especially since Ye Yu was likely long gone. The world was vast; where could Yang Yi possibly begin her search?
"Finding him is your responsibility. I'm not interested in the process, only the result. If I don't have the formula by tomorrow morning, don't bother coming to work," Liu Meng declared, then turned and strode towards the door. Pausing, he glanced back at Yang Yi, who looked utterly lost.
"Without your income, your mother can't afford her treatments. And if she stops receiving care, well, the consequences..." Liu Meng let out a cold, mocking laugh. "I know you're a devoted daughter, so for your mother's sake, you'd better put in the effort!"
"Oh dear, I certainly wouldn't want Mrs. Yang to pass away!" She said insincerely, then left the conference room along with the others, leaving Yang Yi slumped alone in her chair.
"Ye Rann, you big bad guy, where have you gone? Please come back!"
Tears shimmered in Yang Yi's eyes, yet in the vast expanse of the conference room, her plea met with silence...
