C9 Elder Chiang

"Kill him, kill him!"

Jia Zihao's eyes bulged as he watched the bodyguard close in on Ye Yu.

Inside the banquet hall, a smug smile played on everyone's lips. They despised Ye Yu, the disruptor, so much they wished they could tear him limb from limb.

The punch was inches away, the knuckles nearly grazing his back.

In the nick of time, Ye Yu narrowed his eyes, swerved to the left with the swiftness of lightning, and effortlessly sidestepped the ambush, ending up behind the bodyguard.

The tables turned in an instant.

Confronted with the lethal bodyguard, Ye Yu showed no restraint. He lifted his foot and delivered a solid kick to the man's rear.

The force of the kick sent the bodyguard flying five or six meters, crashing onto a dining table.

With a resounding crack, the table splintered, and the bodyguard hit the floor, eyes rolling back, motionless.

Is he even human?

That was the crowd's assessment of Ye Yu, whose speed seemed beyond human capability.

"I'm taking her with me. Anyone who tries to stop me will die!"

Ye Yu declared icily, turning to leave.

Just then, the steel doors of two elevators opened simultaneously, and a dozen young men, resembling security guards, emerged. Each brandished a baton, their posturing foolhardy and arrogant.

They were the security guards of the Yangcheng Hotel, doubling as enforcers. Backed by the hotel, they operated with a brutal edge.

There was a customer who once complained about the hotel's service and raised his voice, only to be dragged into a back room and have his teeth violently extracted.

"Manager Wang, this is the man causing trouble and who attacked our brothers!"

Luo Xinghong stepped forward, complaining to a man in a high-level suit with the air of a schoolboy tattling to his teacher.

This Manager Wang, known as Wang Kun, was the sole heir of the Yangcheng Hotel owner, Wang Shaojun.

Wang Kun was a troublemaker, always roaming around with his cronies stirring up chaos. Without his father's protection, he'd likely have been sleeping with the fishes by now.

"Young Master Jia!" Wang Kun shoved Luo Xinghong aside and made a beeline for Jia Zihao.

Like attracts like, and these two were notoriously known as troublemakers among the wealthy heirs. They were often seen together and shared a close friendship.

"Wang Kun, help me take him down. I'll pay you, whatever the amount!"

With his ally by his side, Jia Zihao's confidence surged. Yet, he failed to realize that if his own bodyguard, a former mercenary, couldn't handle Ye Yu, what chance did Wang Kun's underlings have?

"Talk about money? If we're brothers, one million should do it!"

Wang Kun chuckled, thinking he had stumbled upon a windfall. To earn a million from Young Master Jia just to deal with one guy seemed like a steal, but he was oblivious to the magnitude of the problem he was about to face.

But maybe fate was on his side, because before he could issue the command to strike, an elderly man with white hair emerged from the observation deck.

Jia Zihao's eyes bulged with a mix of excitement and bewilderment. "Elder Chiang? How did you get up here?"

The newcomer was none other than Elder Chiang, the revered Ancient Martial Cultivator cherished by the Jia family.

"I heard you were in a bind, so I hurried over. It's true, I'm getting old. It took me a whole minute to climb the stairs."

Elder Chiang's nonchalant bragging left the crowd speechless. They glanced from the sixty-eighth-floor balcony railing to Elder Chiang, who wasn't even out of breath.

Could he be some kind of superhero?

To witness such an extraordinary individual was truly astonishing! It looked like the foolish young man who had crossed Young Master Jia was in deep trouble...
