C4 The Schools Dark Side

Upon waking once more, Chu Yang found himself in his own bed with Meng Jingxian seated at his bedside.

"You're finally awake!"

Meng Jingxian had been so worried about Chu Yang that she lost her appetite. Despite her grandfather's protests, she was determined to see him.

"Are you okay? The doctor said you're fine, but you were out cold. You had me worried..."

"I'm fine," Chu Yang reassured her softly, stroking her head. Her innocent, endearing look compelled him to soothe her like a skittish fawn.

Chu Yang was aware he had been afflicted by a venomous insect, and he hadn't anticipated Chen Le to be a practitioner of such dark arts. It explained his boldness in opposing the Meng family.

He had just finished dealing with six thugs when he let his guard down, allowing the venomous insect to strike. Its poison was lethal; any ordinary person would have succumbed instantly. But Chu Yang, shielded by a spiritual seed, recovered fully after a rest.

Relieved to see Chu Yang unharmed, Meng Jingxian's tension eased. Yet, recalling how he had tenderly touched her hair and the softness in his eyes, her cheeks flushed, and her heart raced, leaving her at a loss for words.

Fortuitously, Chu Yang's phone buzzed. As he checked the message, Meng Jingxian slipped away to the bathroom, hoping a splash of cold water would calm her fluttering heart.

Chu Yang's brow furrowed at the text.

"I'm outside your door. I know about Chen Le and your sister."

Then, the doorbell chimed.

"I've got it!" Meng Jingxian dashed to answer it, much to Chu Yang's silent dismay—she hadn't even asked who it was before opening the door.

A stunning woman with long, flowing hair and a figure to match stood at the threshold.

"Excuse me, is this Mr. Chu Yang's residence?"

Caught off guard by another woman at the door, she felt a twinge of embarrassment. As Meng Jingxian learned the visitor was there for Chu Yang, a pang of jealousy surged within her.

Chu Yang had just slipped into a fresh set of clothes: a sleek, black British-style coat paired with well-fitting jeans that accentuated his striking, statuesque appearance.

"Hello, my name is Gu Panpan. I'm a teacher at St. Peter's. I..."

"Understood, let's step outside to talk," Chu Yang interjected, recognizing the teacher from his school. He had taken particular notice of this stunning educator, who was the object of affection for all the male teachers and even the male students.

He hadn't anticipated her involvement in this affair.

Meng Jingxian watched with a heavy heart as Chu Yang prepared to step out alone with the beauty. Despite her reluctance, she had no say in the matter. With a pout and a huff, she instructed the driver to take her home.

Upon reaching an abandoned factory behind the school, Gu Panpan's demeanor betrayed her anxiety. She lingered outside the building before finally, with a tug on Chu Yang's arm, approaching the door.

As they opened the door, they were met with a shocking sight: women's clothing strewn across the concrete floor and a putrid smell of decay hanging in the air. Gu Panpan dashed to a nearby bush, doubled over, and retched violently.

Chu Yang's thoughts flew to Chen Le, and he pieced it together. Those who cultivated venomous insects often required the living bodies of young girls, particularly those in their twenties whose feminine energy was at its zenith—prime nourishment for the growth of the insects.

The sheer volume of clothing scattered on the ground sent a chill down Chu Yang's spine—so many young lives had ended here. His gaze locked onto a particular item, and his body shook uncontrollably. The familiar dress belonged to his sister, Chu Yu.

His sister hadn't taken her own life; she had been brought here, shamed and poisoned. She had managed to escape, only to succumb to the poison and drown in the river.

This revelation shed light on the state in which his sister was found—her face unrecognizable, her mouth filled with black blood. It was an image Chu Yang would never erase from his memory.

All signs pointed to a sinister plot by Chen Le, a man Chu Yang was now determined to confront.

Suddenly, a piercing scream echoed from outside.

"Damn it," Chu Yang cursed under his breath. Gu Panpan was out there alone, and the threat of lingering venomous insects loomed ominously.

Indeed, by the time Chu Yang reached the scene, Gu Panpan had collapsed in the grass, white foam at her mouth and a dark pool of blood beneath her neck.

Thankfully, Chu Yang's timely discovery meant that Gu Panpan still clung to a sliver of life, though her pulse was frighteningly faint.

Taking a deep breath, Chu Yang bent down and pressed his lips to Gu Panpan's, intent on transferring his Genuine Qi into her and expelling the toxins from her body.

Roughly ten minutes passed, and Gu Panpan's body began to relax, her body temperature slowly climbing, her breathing steadily evening out.

Upon awakening, she found Chu Yang still atop her, mouth-to-mouth, continuing the transfer of Genuine Qi.

Startled, she misinterpreted his intentions and, in a surge of anger, slapped him across the face. Her hand swelled instantly, resembling a puffy steamed bun.

Rising from the ground, poised to unleash a tirade, she caught sight of the congealed black blood and felt the sting of the wound on her neck. It dawned on her then that Chu Yang had just saved her life.

The memory of the ordeal sent a shiver of fear through her, and she broke out in a cold sweat. As she opened her mouth to speak, darkness overtook her vision, and she fainted.

Chu Yang carried her back to his place, and after a thorough examination, he realized that some of the Gu poison remained in Gu Panpan's system, beyond the reach of his Genuine Qi. Without immediate action, her life hung in the balance.

Having grown accustomed to the cycle of life and death through several lifetimes of cultivation, Chu Yang found the fragility of human life on Earth all the more precious.

Determined to save the young woman, he decided to use the Immortal Seed he had recently acquired, hoping its power would eradicate the Gu poison.

Four hours later, Gu Panpan regained consciousness. Her first realization was that she was scantily clad in Chu Yang's T-shirt, lying exposed on the living room carpet. Her cheeks burned with a mix of shame and indignation as she looked up at Chu Yang with a glare.

"Don't get the wrong idea. I did this to save you," Chu Yang stated, his voice cool and his face devoid of emotion.

"If you're skeptical, feel free to get checked out at the hospital, but if you pass out again, don't count on me to come to your rescue." Having said that, he left the internally chaotic beauty on the floor and returned to his own room.

Gu Panpan was convinced. Even though she didn't understand how Chu Yang had managed it, she could sense a significant improvement in her health. She was familiar with the Gu poison and had seen its devastating effects firsthand, fully aware that it was only thanks to this benefactor that she was still alive.

Gazing out at the deep night sky, Gu Panpan made a sudden decision: she would stay here until she was completely healed!

That night, Chu Yang's bedroom door swung open. Clutching a pillow and draped in Chu Yang's oversized T-shirt, Gu Panpan stood there, her slender, delicate legs catching the light and drawing Chu Yang's gaze.

"May I sleep here?" she asked.
