C15 The Provocation of the Security Captain
"Congratulations, Host, on earning a chance to draw!" The system's voice floated through the air.
Su Chen's eyes fluttered open to the morning light.
"Another drawing opportunity!" he exclaimed.
He recognized the value of this chance and was determined not to let it slip away. Without hesitation, Su Chen proceeded with the draw.
The draw was crucial, and Su Chen dove into the process.
Being a seasoned participant, he handled the drawing with ease, well-acquainted with the ritual.

Glancing at the clock, he realized his tardiness.
Fortunately, Director Liu had a bone to pick with him, ensuring a constant undercurrent of jealousy.
In light of this, Su Chen was acutely aware of the implications.
Yet his demeanor remained unfazed.

With his mood in check, Su Chen finished his breakfast, dressed, and sauntered off to the company.
As soon as Su Chen stepped into the company, he sensed something was off.
Right then, a security guard approached him with an air of arrogance. Su Chen couldn't help but smirk coldly at the sight; he could practically taste the guard's animosity.
"He's arrived," he thought, aware of the implications.
Su Chen composed himself, his brow furrowing slightly as he braced for the gravity of the situation. He had suspected that Liu Dagang was plotting against him, and the security guard's presence seemed to confirm his connection to Liu Dagang's schemes.
With this realization, Su Chen's gaze turned icy.

Liu Dagang, too, seemed to grasp the gravity of the situation, his expression turning stern.
The guard sized up Su Chen from head to toe. "You're Su Chen?" he asked, hands clasped behind his back.
With a frosty smile, Su Chen replied, "Yes, that's me." His tone dripped with sarcasm, a clear reflection of his contempt.
The guard responded with a sneer of his own. "For what it's worth, my name is Hou Shiguang," he said, slapping his shoulder.
Su Chen, exasperated, retorted, "And why should I care what you're called?" His disdain was palpable.
To Su Chen, Hou Shiguang's arrogance was laughable, hardly worth his concern. He smirked, mocking the guard's bravado.
Stung by Su Chen's words, Hou Shiguang's face grew cold, his expression souring.
With a scornful tone, Hou Shiguang revealed, "Captain Lin wants to meet with you. And just so you know, this is all Director Liu's doing. Today, you're going to be working with our security team."
His words were laced with derision.
"Work for the security team?" Su Chen's expression chilled.
He was under no illusions; this 'help' was nothing more than a part of Liu Dagang's plot, a fact that Su Chen was acutely aware of.
Hou Shiguang's sneer deepened. "If you doubt me, feel free to confirm with Director Liu," he said, his voice heavy with mockery.
It was clear that Hou Shiguang was brimming with confidence.
Su Chen let out a cold laugh. "There's no need. If these are Director Liu's orders, then I'll follow them," he stated, his face a mask of calm resolve.
Upon hearing those words, Hou Shiguang was taken aback.
He had anticipated some difficulty in luring Su Chen into Captain Lin's office, but to his astonishment, it proved to be a breeze. The ease of the situation left Hou Shiguang feeling bewildered.
Observing Hou Shiguang's befuddled look, Su Chen clapped him on the shoulder with a taunting grin.
"What's the matter? Is there an issue?" Su Chen asked, his gaze piercingly cold as he stared at Hou Shiguang, as if he could see right through him.
A jolt went through Hou Shiguang's heart, and he was shaking with rage.
Though Hou Shiguang was merely a regular security guard, he was also the cousin of Lin Shaodong, the head of the security team, which he believed gave him considerable clout. He had been tasked by Lin Shaodong to confront Su Chen and had underestimated him from the start.
To Hou Shiguang, Su Chen was nothing more than a lowly intern. He was confident that taking Su Chen down would be a walk in the park given his own capabilities.
So, he hadn't given the matter much thought.
His gaze, however, was razor-sharp.
"Just wait, kid. Once you're in Captain Lin's office, I'll make sure you have no place to rest in peace!" Hou Shiguang vowed silently.
Su Chen just smiled in response, fully aware of the implications behind the situation, yet remaining utterly composed.
And so, they made their way to Captain Lin's office.
Lin Shaodong held a respectable position within the company as the leader of the security team. His status might not rival that of Director Liu, but it was certainly not to be taken lightly by the average person.
Being the head of the company's security team, Lin Shaodong commanded a significant amount of authority.
With that, Hou Shiguang escorted Su Chen into the office, where they found not only Lin Shaodong but also several other individuals—all members of the security team.
