C21 Auction Storm

Su Chen's brazen antics left Tang Ziye feeling utterly helpless.

She even found herself regretting bringing Su Chen along.

After all, Suen Benwei was a master whom Tang Ziye had spared no expense to recruit for the sole purpose of outmaneuvering Liu Kaixuan.

Rumor had it that Liu Kaixuan had also secured a formidable ally.

Thus, Tang Ziye placed considerable reliance on Suen Benwei.

Yet, in this delicate situation, Su Chen had managed to deeply offend Suen Benwei, much to Tang Ziye's dismay.

Su Chen, however, just smirked.

Out of respect for his sister, he chose not to stoop to Suen Benwei's level.

But to him, it hardly mattered.

With that, Su Chen took his place behind the wheel, utterly indifferent to Suen Benwei.

Suen Benwei's expression turned icy.

"Miss Tang, such exemplary manners your brother has!" he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

Were it not for the paycheck, Suen Benwei would have long since abandoned the place.

Tang Ziye was quick to offer a profuse apology.

Yet she knew better than to expect anything more from Su Chen.

His stubbornness was apparent.

Tang Ziye found herself caught between the two, struggling to mediate and feeling increasingly helpless.

"Master Suen, I'm counting on you this time. If you can outdo Liu Kaixuan and secure that newly unveiled painting, I'll gladly double your fee!"

Suen Benwei gave a cold chuckle.

"Rest assured, with my involvement, success is guaranteed! As a top-tier master, my expertise in antique appraisal is unparalleled. Unless the world's supreme master emerges, I have no equal!"

He declared with an air of superiority.

He was the epitome of arrogance.

Su Chen couldn't help but scoff inwardly at the boast.

"This guy's full of hot air," he mused resignedly.

In his view, Suen Benwei's talent for tall tales was second to none.

Still, Su Chen had to admit that Suen Benwei wasn't entirely without merit; he wasn't just some worthless nobody.

He kept silent, out of respect for his sister.

"This piece is by Soong Taibai, a painter of great renown from ancient times," Tang Ziye added, unable to hide her concern.

This painting was undoubtedly a masterpiece, but there was something even more crucial than the artwork itself: taking down the Liu Corporation. That was the priority.

With this in mind, Tang Ziye couldn't help but feel that this task took precedence. Deep inside, she harbored great expectations for Suen Benwei.

Suen Benwei simply nodded.

"Rest assured, with Master Suen here, success is guaranteed. However, I must warn certain amateurs not to make fools of themselves. That place will be teeming with socialites and connoisseurs. Any embarrassment could be quite unforgivable," he said with a sardonic air.

His words seemed to take aim at Su Chen.

"Am I going?"

Su Chen was at a loss for words.

He hadn't anticipated such remarks from Suen Benwei, whose every word seemed to target him, leaving Su Chen feeling utterly speechless and helpless.

For him, Suen Benwei's behavior was crossing a line.

All he could do was remain silent.

As they arrived at the auction house, Su Chen pulled the car into the parking lot, and the trio disembarked.

Tang Ziye continued to assist Suen Benwei with utmost respect.

Su Chen, however, couldn't hide his contempt.

Suen Benwei's expression chilled as he cast a deliberate glance at Su Chen.

"Young man, you might want to pick up a few tricks from me once we're inside. Despite your shortcomings, I'm willing to impart some knowledge. The art of appraising treasures isn't easily mastered," Suen Benwei said deliberately, each word dripping with condescension.

Su Chen felt the sting of his words and his patience with Suen Benwei was wearing thin.

He found Suen Benwei utterly loathsome. It wasn't just about whether the man had any real talent; his arrogance alone was enough to frustrate Su Chen.

Shaking his head, Su Chen retorted, "I have no intention of learning from you!"

With that, he strode ahead into the auction house.

If it weren't for the fact that Suen Benwei was a guest of his sister's, Su Chen would have gladly ignored the man altogether.

And so, the three of them made their way into the bustling auction, which was housed in a vast, circular office filled with a crowd of attendees.

The attendees were all smartly dressed in suits and leather shoes, gathered for the auction. Su Chen and two others took their seats in a noticeable spot. Upon recognizing Suen Benwei, the crowd couldn't hide their astonishment.

"Is that really Master Suen?"

"I can't believe someone managed to bring Master Suen here!"

"With Soong Taibai's newly uncovered masterpiece in play, who else but Master Suen could be deemed its rightful owner? Who could possibly outshine him?"

The room was filled with connoisseurs, each visibly shaken by Suen Benwei's presence. His reputation for unparalleled skill was well-known.

Feeling the weight of their gaze, Suen Benwei sat up even straighter, exuding an air of self-assured pride.

He was thrilled, feeling a sense of validation as the admiration washed over him.

Tang Ziye was hopeful, too. The collective shock at Master Suen's arrival suggested that no one there could rival him.

Approaching Su Chen, Tang Ziye gave his arm a pinch.

"Why are you pinching me?" Su Chen asked, clearly annoyed.

Tang Ziye shot him a stern look. "Show some respect to Master Suen. He's crucial to my business," she said, her voice tinged with expectation.

"Uh..."

With no other option, Su Chen shrugged. "Relax, as long as he doesn't start acting up, I won't make a move against him," he assured her.

Reassured by his promise, Tang Ziye relaxed.

And so, they settled into their seats.

Master Suen's demeanor was one of unbridled confidence; his arrogance knew no bounds.

Su Chen braced himself, mentally prepared for what was to come.

Just then, another group entered, led by a middle-aged man in a sharp suit, accompanied by an elderly man with a head of white hair.

The elder's expression was stern, while the middle-aged man wore a look of wild ferocity.

"That's Liu Kaixuan!" Tang Ziye's face tensed.

It was clear that the middle-aged man was indeed Liu Kaixuan, and despite his age, the elder accompanying him radiated a formidable presence.
