Su Chen was understandably annoyed.

Their bodies crashed into one another.

Then, from behind, a girl's voice pierced the chaos.

"Thief!"

The girl was short and exuded a cute, petite charm. Her hair was disheveled, and she was drenched in sweat, clearly at the end of her physical tether.

"It's a thief!" Su Chen realized in an instant.

Who else could this man be, if not a thief?

Su Chen, ever the good Samaritan, didn't hesitate to tackle the thief, pinning him down.

With a swift twist of his wrist, Su Chen secured the bag and restrained the thief's hand.

Thanks to the beautifying pill, Su Chen's looks had improved dramatically, and his presence had taken on a new charisma.

His physique had also become impressively robust.

Though he wasn't trained in martial arts, handling the scrawny thief proved to be no challenge. The thief's attempts to struggle were futile.

Just then, a police cruiser pulled up...

He simply gave a dismissive wave of his hand.

"Doing the right thing is just what I should do," Su Chen said with a smile, then turned and walked away. Chen Tingting watched him leave, her face betraying a curious mix of emotions.

Whatever thoughts were swirling in the girl's mind, no one could tell.

For Su Chen, the encounter was merely a brief episode. His spirits were high as he hailed a cab and headed straight back to the Tang family estate.

In just one day, Su Chen had come to know the Tang estate well. He made his way back to the villa.

That's when he caught a whiff of something delightful.

"What an amazing aroma!"

Su Chen mused to himself.

"Brother, you're back! Sister has made some porridge, come and try it!" Tang Zilu greeted him with a warm smile.

Her demeanor towards Su Chen had not always been so kind, but since he had healed her chronic foot ailment the day before, her gratitude ran deep.

She had come to see her brother in a new light.

And just like that, a steaming bowl of porridge was placed before Su Chen.

"Second Sister, I had no idea you were such a great cook!" Su Chen exclaimed, pleasantly surprised.

The scent of the porridge was inviting.

"Go on, give it a try!"

Tang Zilu urged him with a grin.

Su Chen tasted it and immediately savored the rich, aromatic flavor.

It was then that Tang Ziye entered.

"Brother, I'm back!" Tang Ziye approached Su Chen, her beautiful eyes lingering on him.

Feeling Tang Ziye's gaze, Su Chen couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed. Being scrutinized by such a gaze from a beautiful woman was not the most comfortable experience.

"Little brother, once you've finished eating, get ready. Big sister is taking you to an upscale gathering. After all, you haven't seen much of the world yet, so I've decided it's time you did," Tang Ziye announced.

Su Chen had little interest in the matter. High-end social gatherings had always seemed dull to him.

"Why not just accompany your sister? Is this small request too much to ask?" Tang Ziye resorted to a playful pout.

Su Chen squirmed at her words, though he couldn't deny Tang Ziye's effectiveness at being endearing.

"Fine, I'll go."

Despite his agreement, Su Chen couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this than met the eye.

What that was, he couldn't say.

But the knowing looks exchanged between the two women hinted at an unspoken connection.

At that moment, Tang Zilu chimed in cheerfully, "We're only thinking of your best interests. To advance, you need to network with the elite. Plus, we've decided you should work at our company!"

"Work?"

Su Chen's face twisted in discomfort.
