C3 Black Dragon Card!

Duane quickly glanced at Christian.

With his wealth of experience, Christian feigned frailty, coughing as he addressed Duane, "Young man, I can't thank you enough. Without those acupuncture points you gave me, I might very well have died here today."

"There's no need for thanks."

Duane played along seamlessly.

He turned to Lavinia with a smile, "I just ran into this elderly gentleman having a heart attack, so I lent a hand with his treatment."

The lie had a ring of truth to it.

Years ago, an old man had rescued him from life under a bridge, imparting some medical knowledge along the way.

He had once given Lavinia and her husband a simple treatment for a fever. Despite their skepticism about his healing abilities, attributing their recovery to the medicine they took, he knew better.

"With those medical skills you picked up in the village, and without a proper medical license, you really shouldn't be treating people!" Lavinia scolded, then turned to Christian in the car, "Grandpa, don't listen to him. He's just a country doctor. There's a hospital just up ahead—please go get a proper check-up."

"Alright, thank you."

Christian nodded and smiled appreciatively at her, then cast a meaningful glance at Duane, silently commending the kindness of Duane's wife.

The car sped off.

Lavinia, still irked, confronted Duane, "You're not to go around treating people willy-nilly anymore. What if something goes wrong? Can you handle the consequences?"

"I understand," Duane replied.

The old man who had taught him medicine was none other than the renowned Old Dr. Dipper, sought after by countless dignitaries and the wealthy.

Suddenly, Lavinia's face lit up with realization, "Hold on! Didn't you think that old man looked familiar?"

"Who?"

"The wealthiest man in Sylvan Province, Old Master Farrell!" As the realization dawned on her, excitement sparkled in Lavinia's eyes. She went on, "Exactly, it was Old Master Farrell! The very tycoon of Sylvan Province. It's incredible—I actually met Old Master Farrell!"

Duane muttered under his breath, "Is all this excitement really necessary?"

Lavinia's face chilled, "How can you be so impolite? It's a stroke of luck to have even a brief encounter with the richest man in Sylvan Province. You truly lack any sense of awareness!"

"Honey, where are you off to?"

Duane deftly steered the conversation elsewhere.

"The financial backbone of my company is broken. I need to figure something out fast, or I'm facing bankruptcy," Lavinia lamented.

Her company had been in trouble for some time. Initially, she had hoped for an investment from her family, but after the incident with Melvin yesterday, the entire Xavier family was in distress, leaving her without their support. Her only option was to seek help from friends.

"How much do you need? Let me help you," Duane offered.

"You?" Lavinia gave him a scornful look. "Right now, I need eight million!"

"That's not an issue, this card..."

Duane pulled out the bank card Christian had given him.

In frustration, Lavinia tossed the card to the ground, exclaiming, "Enough! Don't you think I know how little money you have? Stop making things worse!"

With that, she turned and walked away, her mood sour.

Duane could only offer a wry smile.

That card contained 800 million!

Oh well.

He decided to head straight to the bank.

Upon arriving, Duane bumped into Lavinia's friend, Ruby.

Ruby had once tried to set Lavinia up with a wealthy boss to gain some favor for herself. She had gotten Lavinia drunk at a nightclub and was about to call the boss when Duane unexpectedly showed up and foiled her scheme, earning her animosity.

Now, Ruby was at the bank to meet her boyfriend and ran into Duane instead. Talk about bad luck!

"Isn't this Lavinia's husband?" Ruby said to Duane, her tone dripping with condescension.

Duane gave her a cool look and acted as if she wasn't there.

Ruby felt slighted, as if Duane regarded her as nothing more than roadside trash.

"Look at this, everyone! His wife gives him a measly 600 dollars a month, even for groceries. Can you believe he's not using an ATM and is actually queuing here? He's just wasting everyone's time," she announced to the onlookers.

The crowd turned their gaze to Duane, their looks filled with curiosity and judgment.

"He's not bad-looking, so why is he such a loser?"

"I bet he's just lazy. The younger generation is really losing their drive."

Ruby's lips curled into a smirk as she taunted, "Duane, I forgot you're from the countryside. You probably don't even know how to use an ATM. My bad, I shouldn't have spoken to you like that."

Upon learning that Duane hailed from the countryside, the crowd's grins grew even broader.

"In this day and age, someone not knowing how to use an ATM? That's just laughable."

The bank's guide approached Duane and advised, "Sir, if you need to withdraw less than 20,000 dollars, you can use the ATM for that."

"I'm looking to withdraw more than 20,000 dollars," Duane replied.

Ruby, standing nearby, sneered, "As if you have that kind of money. I'd be surprised if you even had 2,000 dollars."

Duane gave her a cool, dismissive glance.

He had no interest in engaging with her.

Ruby's anger flared. "Don't have the guts to say how much you want to withdraw?" she taunted.

"I'm here to withdraw 8 million dollars. Can you believe that?" Duane retorted.

Ruby burst into uncontrollable laughter and called out to the onlookers, "Come see for yourselves! This country fellow claims he's withdrawing 8 million dollars."

The crowd joined in the laughter.

"How about a wager?" Duane suggested, eyeing her sidelong.

"Sure!" Ruby laughed heartily. "You're on. If you don't have 8 million dollars, you'll kneel and call me 'Mom'."

"And if I win?" Duane asked, a smile playing on his lips.

"Don't be absurd. But fine, if you somehow win, I'll call you 'godfather'—and everyone here can bear witness," Ruby scoffed.

Just then, bank manager Edwin arrived on the scene, Ruby's boyfriend.

With a smirk, Ruby informed him, "Honey, he's trying to take out 8 million dollars."

Edwin gave Duane a once-over, noting his worn-out clothes, and let out a derisive chuckle.

He was about to have security escort Duane away when he caught sight of the bank card in his hand and froze.

Emblazoned on the black card was a dazzling golden dragon, so vivid it seemed alive.

It was the Black Dragon Card!

While the average person might not recognize it, Edwin, as a bank manager, certainly did.

The Black Dragon Card was one of only fifty in the entire world, a card so exclusive that even some royals and nobles didn't possess one.

Thus, the Black Dragon Card is a symbol of exalted status!

"Please make your way to the high-end VIP room."

Edwin bowed hurriedly with deference.

He silently rejoiced that he hadn't committed a faux pas earlier; the repercussions would have been dire.

Observing this, Ruby scowled and remarked, "Do you actually think he's got eight million? Get him out of here, now!"

In a sudden move, Edwin slapped her across the face and blurted out in a panic, "Be quiet!"

He simply couldn't risk offending someone in possession of the Black Dragon Card.
