C18 Limitless Hall
After scrutinizing the positions of the Dragon Head Sect Disciples, Qin Yu couldn't help but furrow his brow, realizing that, for the time being, there was no opportunity to blend in undetected. With this in mind, he had no choice but to wait. Meanwhile, the Genuine Qi within him was slowly circulating through his meridians, ready to confront any potential threats.
At that moment, within the Limitless Hall, the Sect Master of the Clear Essence Sect was seated at the highest point, his gaze sweeping over everyone present. To the left, Elder Feng and Elder Tian sat with dignified postures. In the center of the hall, Yun Hee and his two young disciples were respectfully facing the Sect Master, bowing slightly in greeting.
"Yun Hee of the Dragon Head Sect pays his respects to the Sect Master of the Clear Essence Sect," Yun Hee stated calmly as he performed the courtesy.
The Sect Master maintained a stern expression, betraying no emotion. After a brief pause, he finally spoke, "Elder Yun Hee is too humble. Please, take your seat."
"Thank you, Sect Master," responded Yun Hee with a faint smile, the lines on his face gathering as he nodded. He then made his way to a chair on the right side of the hall, dusted off his robes, and took his seat, while his disciples positioned themselves behind him.
Once seated, a sly smile crept onto Elder Feng's face as he addressed Yun Hee, "Alright, Yun Hee, you've made your formalities clear. Let's not beat around the bush. Why have you brought so many disciples to our Clear Essence Sect today?"
Elder Feng was convinced that the Dragon Head Sect's decision to send Yun Hee was not a friendly overture; it had to be for some ulterior motive.
As expected, upon hearing Elder Feng's direct approach, Yun Hee let out a soft chuckle. After a moment, his smile faded, and his eyes briefly met those of Elder Feng and Elder Tian before he replied evenly, "Since Elder Feng has put it so plainly, I will be direct. My visit to the Clear Essence Sect today has a singular purpose: to request that the Sect surrender the Great Demon and restore tranquility to the Human Race."
"What utter nonsense are you spouting!" Elder Feng exclaimed in shock, rising to his feet and pointing an accusatory finger at Yun Hee.
Elder Feng was acutely aware of the dire consequences that would ensue if the Dragon Head Sect learned of the Great Demon's presence. It had been a mere decade since the Three-eye Great Demon led the demon race in their invasion of humanity, and the human race's hatred for demons was still profoundly deep. Now, for reasons unknown, this Great Demon had surfaced within a Miscellaneous Affairs Disciple of the Clear Essence Sect. Should the Dragon Head Sect catch wind of this, they would undoubtedly stoke the fires of conflict. In such a scenario, the Clear Essence Sect would inevitably become a target for all, while the Dragon Head Sect could effortlessly unite with other human sects to obliterate the Clear Essence Sect.
"Why so agitated, Elder Feng? Feeling a bit guilty, are we?" Yun Hee's eyes shone with a piercing intensity as he fixed his gaze on Elder Feng, resembling a ferocious tiger ready to pounce at the slightest lapse in vigilance.
An ordinary person would surely recoil in fear under Yun Hee's menacing stare. However, Elder Feng's strength was on par with Yun Hee's, rendering the intimidating gaze ineffective. Instead, Elder Feng's Genuine Qi began to surge, and a Strong Wind could be faintly sensed swirling around his frame.
Observing Elder Feng's stance, the two Dragon Head Sect Disciples behind Yun Hee swiftly moved their hands towards their swords, poised to draw them at a moment's notice.
The hall was charged with tension, a fight seeming imminent. However, after a brief pause, the calm voice of the Sect Master resonated through the space, "Enough, enough, Junior Brother Feng, let's not be rash. Please, take a seat."
Upon hearing the Sect Master's voice, Elder Feng cast a glance at him, unclenched his fists, and the Strong Wind around him gradually subsided. He let out a cold snort towards Yun Hee and returned to his seat.
Yun Hee, in turn, gestured dismissively to the two young disciples behind him, who then nodded and slowly released their grip on their sword hilts.
As the tension in the room eased, the Sect Master briefly closed his eyes, then directed a measured look at Yun Hee, remarking coolly, "Yun Hee, to accuse our Clear Essence Sect of harboring a great demon is quite an impertinent allegation, don't you think?"
Yun Hee's expression shifted subtly before he respectfully addressed the Sect Master, "Sect Master, I assure you, there's no intent on my part to defame the Clear Essence Sect. Elder Feng has simply misconstrued my words. Our Dragon Head Sect detected a powerful demonic aura emanating from the vicinity of the Clear Essence Sect a few days ago. As longstanding allies, we felt it was only neighborly to investigate the matter."
"Since when are we friends with your Dragon Head Sect? Yun Hee, you may be getting on in years, but you certainly haven't lost your nerve. You're as brazen as ever," Elder Feng retorted with evident disdain after hearing Yun Hee's explanation.
Unfazed, Yun Hee continued, "The great demon is a shared adversary of our human race. A decade ago, Qin Tiange single-handedly sealed it away, sparing our people from catastrophe. Given the gravity of the threat, I'm sure everyone here can appreciate the concern. With the recent resurgence of the demonic aura, is it not our duty as members of the Dragon Head Sect, and indeed the human race, to remain vigilant?"
"I'm telling you now, there is no great demon within the Clear Essence Sect. If you persist with these baseless claims, Yun Hee, don't expect me to hold back!" Elder Feng exclaimed, barely able to contain his fury at Yun Hee's insinuations.
As Elder Feng looked ready to explode with anger once more, Elder Tian intervened, "Yun Hee, enough has been said. Our Clear Essence Sect has no great demon. If you have any respect for your position as the Second Elder of the Dragon Head Sect, you would apologize and take your leave."
Yun Hee yawned, showing a blatant disregard for Elder Tian's words, then turned his attention to the Sect Master, "Sect Master, I trust you won't be as obstinate as your disciples here. Further discussion is pointless. I came with a sincere warning, but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. Let me be clear: harboring a great demon is tantamount to defying the entire human race. Should I uncover any proof that your Clear Essence Sect is concealing such a threat, can you imagine the consequences?"
