C15 Betting

On December 3rd, 2083, at 7:20 AM, Su Wei arrived punctually at Moontown High's senior year Class 2.

The school hadn't provided details about the upcoming classes, but Su Wei had a hunch that today would bring something new.

With the significant awakening ritual for Soul Masters now concluded, it was likely that the school would introduce targeted strategies.

Sure enough, right after morning reading, Ma Tufu approached the podium and addressed the students, "Class! Starting today, we're introducing a new course called the Soul Master class!"

"From now until winter break, everyone must take this course seriously. It's crucial for your future and destiny, so give it the attention it deserves."

"Let's give a warm round of applause to welcome our class's Soul Master teacher — second level official Soul Master Tu Lei!"

A young male teacher with a mushroom haircut then stepped up to the podium. "Hello, everyone. My name is Tu Lei, and I'm currently a second level official Soul Master. In the coming period..."

"Since you're all new to the Soul Master profession, all four of this morning's classes will be led by Teacher Tu Lei!"

"This afternoon, everyone will head to the Moontown Culture and Sports Center for a physical assessment!" Ma Tufu stood by, lending his support to the new teacher.

"As you all know, since the Dark Ages began, Soul Masters and Horcruxes have become integral to our world, serving as a vital means for humans to combat Spectres."

"Spectres are inherently powerful! While the young ones stay hidden, there are also dangerous creatures known as Spectres in the wild. Typically, they don't surpass the third level. Beyond that, the wilderness belongs to the Spectres, with the lesser Spectres becoming prey."

...

During the break, Liu Shiya, the belle of Class 1, made her way to Class 2 and headed straight for Su Wei's desk.

"Su Wei, I want to thank you for your assistance the other day! I'm also thrilled to have encountered a rival like you as high school draws to a close!"

"I'm not sure why you concealed your abilities before, but from today on, let's all witness what you're truly capable of!"

"Alright!" Su Wei responded with a light smile.

......

"What? Su Wei saved Liu Shiya before?"

"Impossible! Don't we all know what Su Wei is capable of?"

After Liu Shiya left, the students of Class 2 were dumbfounded. They could easily deduce the truth from Liu Shiya's words, but the reality of it made them feel as though the sky was falling!

Have the times really changed?

When did the school's beauty need someone like Su Wei to come to her rescue?

This time, for some reason, Sanjin stopped his underlings who were about to stand up and ridicule Su Wei, giving them a knowing glance.

......

In the afternoon, the bus carrying all the seniors from Moontown High arrived at the Moontown Cultural and Sports Center.

Ma Tufu stood at the forefront, calling everyone together to brief them on the situation.

"This physical test is primarily to assess the talent and combat capabilities of Soul Masters, and it consists of three components!"

"Now, after dividing into three groups, your class teachers will lead you into the testing area!"

Su Wei was aware that the physical test following the awakening ritual for the Horcrux mainly involved measuring the strength of punches and kicks, the speed of short sprints, and nervous reflex velocity.

Following Ma Tufu into the gymnasium, Su Wei's first task was the punch strength test, where the goal was to strike the Rubberman with full force and have the electronic system gauge the power of the punch. Any stance was permissible.

Before even entering the official testing area, he overheard exclamations from the punch strength test center: "Wow, 100 kilograms!"

"Jia is truly impressive. When was the last time Moontown saw such a remarkable score? It's been at least five years!"

"A true prodigy, a prodigy indeed!"

"Remember back in our day, an ordinary person without formal strength training could barely muster 50 kilograms in punch strength. The youth of today are simply extraordinary!"

"Aren't they just?"

"70 kilograms! Next!"

"80 kilograms! Next!"

......

At the front of the line, Soong Sanjin performed a series of preparatory moves, then confidently said to the data recording teacher, "Watch this, teacher. My punch is going to break 90 kilograms!"

"Mm," the teacher responded indifferently.

With a solid punch, the Rubberman wobbled.

"95 kilograms!"

The electronic screen beside them flashed the result. Soong Sanjin, expecting praise, was taken aback to find that the teachers were no longer impressed by such achievements.

He locked eyes with the recording teacher.

"Test's over, why are you still here?" the teacher asked impatiently after jotting down the data, noticing Soong Sanjin hadn't moved.

Soong Sanjin's face flushed with embarrassment.

"Soong's got some serious power; that punch is nearly on par with our school's record holder," one of his lackeys exclaimed.

"Soong is incredible, Soong is invincible," another chimed in, continuing to shower him with flattery.

...

"Su Wei!"

Su Wei chuckled at Soong Sanjin's reaction, not realizing he'd been overheard.

Soong Sanjin spun around, fuming, "Su Wei, I'm not leaving today. I'm going to stick around and see just how much power you've got!"

"With that slight frame of yours, there's no way you're hitting 80 kilograms."

"You're out of your league challenging our Soong," Soong's followers jeered, rallying around their leader.

Feeling both ignored by the teacher and ridiculed by Su Wei, Soong Sanjin was seething with humiliation.

Unfazed, Su Wei simply replied, "If you want to stand there, be my guest."

It was finally Su Wei's turn after Soong Sanjin had gone earlier. Without any special preparation, Su Wei approached the Rubberman and threw a casual punch.

To everyone's surprise, the Rubberman swayed.

"Beep! Fist strength test result—120 kilograms!"

"My goodness, you've broken the record! You must have practiced before, right?" the astonished recording teacher exclaimed, looking at Su Wei in disbelief.

Su Wei just smiled modestly and said, "Not at all, Teacher!"

"What a talent, humble and composed, far better than that other one," the teacher praised, giving Su Wei a nod of approval before turning to his notebook, "Alright, next group."

The instructor gave Su Wei a thumbs-up, mockingly throwing in a jab at Soong Sanjin before making a significant mark in his notebook: "Alright, next group."

As Su Wei stepped aside, Soong had already departed. Su Wei just smiled nonchalantly and didn't mind.

...

On the sprint track, students were being put to the test.

Sanjin had just finished his run at the finish line, his results unknown, but everyone was anticipating Su Wei's performance.

"On your marks! Go!"

Bang! The starting gun fired, and the race was on.

As Su Wei crossed the finish line, the timer read, "Beep! 11.2 seconds!"

In his past life, such a time would have qualified him as a second-level national sprinter, but here it barely made a ripple.

Su Wei could only think to himself that he was in a league with monsters; what else could he do?

The nervous reflex test took place in a room with three mechanical tracks arranged in a circle. Once activated, rubber balls would be shot towards the center. The score was based on the number of balls dodged and the time sustained.

The balls were fast and painful upon impact, but they didn't hinder movement.

The room remained lit, making the test somewhat moderate. Su Wei ended up with a score of 90 points.

After completing the test, Su Wei finally encountered Soong Sanjin, his face a mask of frustration, flanked by his cronies.

...

Su Wei's all-around superiority had left Soong Sanjin feeling humiliated in front of his minions, prompting him to confront Su Wei.

"Su Wei! Do you have the guts to meet me in the school's back alley tonight? Show up, and I'll give you 30,000 yuan, regardless of the outcome."

Su Wei had started to walk away after the first part of the challenge, but the mention of 30,000 yuan stopped him in his tracks and brought him back.

Considering his parents could only earn about 12,000 yuan after a month of hard work, this sum of money could significantly improve his life!

There was no reason for Su Wei to turn down such an offer.

He faced Soong Sanjin and replied, "Alright, I'll meet you in the back alley."
