C10 Yao Jie, Whose Face Was like a City Wall.

After capturing the creature, Han Feng noticed that the little guy had grown a bit, and the film over its eyes was nearly gone.

"What's that you're holding?"

The Zhou sisters had just finished cleaning off the bits of flesh from themselves and were intrigued by the fluffy object in Han Feng's grasp.

"A chinchilla."

"Wow, it's adorable!"

The girls were instantly smitten with the charming creature.

"Isn't this the offspring of that spiritual cat we encountered earlier?" Zhou Lin asked as she gently petted the chinchilla's fur.

"Possibly, but this one seems to have undergone a mutation. If it's also level 22, it could easily take down that spiritual cat we saw."

"It's so powerful, yet so cute! Ah, I can't stand it! Han Feng, could you sell it to us?"

"Uh..."

Han Feng found himself in a bind. The sisters were quite attractive, and normally, one wouldn't refuse such a request from beauties. However, the catch was that the creature had already become his spiritual pet.

"Don't you want to? We'll give you two thousand gold coins for it!"

Clearly, the sisters were quite taken with the little one to offer such a generous sum.

Typically, a premium spiritual pet might fetch just over a thousand gold coins in the market. Two thousand gold coins represented months of the sisters' hard work in the forest. This showed just how extravagant a woman could be!

"It's not about whether I'm willing or not. I'd like to give it to you, but I've already claimed it as my spiritual pet. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't give it away."

"Alright then."

The Zhou sisters deflated upon hearing this, their spirits dampened.

"Han Feng, where's the Ironbone Grass?" Yao Jie approached with a hostile look.

Han Feng shot him a glance. "What does the Ironbone Grass have to do with you?"

"We found the Ironbone Grass first! It's rightfully ours!"

"So whoever finds something first owns it? If I hadn't stepped in, you'd probably be dead by the spiritual cat's claws by now. You've got some nerve, thicker than city walls," Han Feng chuckled at Yao Jie's reasoning.

If discovery alone determined ownership, territorial disputes would be much simpler to resolve.

"That spiritual cat took a lot of effort from the three of us. You just swooped in at the end. What's there to gloat about? I'm not being greedy. You keep the little guy and the spiritual cat's core, but the Ironbone Grass is ours. Otherwise, don't expect me to be polite!"

The spiritual cat was just a common Demonic Beast, its core valued at four or five hundred gold coins. The chinchilla might be worth a thousand, but neither compared to the value of the Ironbone Grass.

Spiritual materials were rare and thus costly. Even the lowest grade could be worth thousands. Yao Jie was certainly playing a clever game.

"You've got quite the knack for calculation. But I killed the spiritual cat, the chinchilla is now my spiritual pet, and the Ironbone Grass is in my possession. Why should I hand it over to you?"

"Han Feng! Do you have any idea of the consequences of provoking me?" Yao Jie glared venomously, like a serpent ready to strike.

"What fate awaits me? I'm all ears."

There's an old saying, "The barefoot are not afraid of those with shoes." Having arrived on Bluestar, Han Feng had no ties to bind him. Armed with the Demonic Pet System, he feared no one. Besides, the Zhou sisters were still around. Why should he let anyone else steal his thunder?

"My brother is a third-year student in Class C at the Hunting School. Cross me, and I assure you, you'll regret it!"

Bluestar had its own version of compulsory education. Once a child turned ten and acquired a spiritual pet, they were enrolled in the Hunting School. All students of the same age attended, making them peers in this institution.

"Oh, I'm quaking in my boots. Here, take it. Just please, I'm begging you, don't have your brother come after me!" Han Feng feigned terror as he hastily produced the Ironbone Grass from his bag.

"Hmph, at least you've got some sense!"

Yao Jie sneered, reaching out to grab it.

"Smack!"

"Dream on! You think you can just take what's mine?" In a flash, Han Feng slapped Yao Jie across the face, unleashing a tirade of curses.

Han Feng's slap was so forceful it left Yao Jie's head ringing.

The Zhou sisters watched, hands over their mouths, shocked by the scene.

The sisters were students in Class D and were well aware of Yao Jie's notorious brother. Yao Jie, bolstered by his brother's reputation, lorded over Class B, and his own strength was formidable. Otherwise, the Zhou sisters wouldn't have joined him in hunting Demonic Beasts.

"I'm going to kill you!"

Yao Jie's family wielded some clout in L City. With his family's protection outside and his brother's inside the academy, he was unaccustomed to such disgrace. Rage consumed him, and with bloodshot eyes, he summoned his spiritual pet.

As the Flash Wolf lunged at Han Feng, it was clear Han Feng was ready for a fight. He'd already slipped behind the grass mud horse.

"Brother, take it down! Just keep it breathing."

Though the grass mud horse was five levels below the Flash Wolf, it hadn't even dignified the wolf with a glance.

The grass mud horse emitted a paralyzing light from its forehead before the Flash Wolf could react, freezing it in place. Then, it unleashed a deluge upon the immobilized wolf.

The Flash Wolf, now an easy target, was overwhelmed by the torrent and left floundering helplessly on the ground.

As his spiritual pet was defeated, Yao Jie's face flushed with shame and fury. It quickly turned purple when the grass mud horse spat a glob of phlegm at him.

The phlegm hit Yao Jie squarely in the face, the toxins burning his skin as he frantically tried to wipe it away with his clothing.

Han Feng wasn't about to miss this chance to kick a man when he was down. He strode forward, knocking Yao Jie to the ground with a swift kick, then grabbed a handful of dirt, flinging it in his face before slapping him relentlessly.

"Keep being arrogant! I'll beat the arrogance right out of you!"

After unleashing his fury, Yao Jie's face was swollen beyond recognition.

"Han Feng, you'll pay for this. I swear you'll pay!"

Yao Jie sobbed as he stowed his spiritual pet and dashed out of the rock forest.

"Han Feng, you've got some nerve. His brother, Yao Yuan, is no saint. You mess with Yao Jie like this, and with the assessment conference right around the corner, he's going to want your hide."

"We've still got half a month before the assessment. Who knows who'll come out on top then. Now that he's gone, are you two up for hunting spiritual beasts with me?"

"Yes!" The sisters chimed in together.

Han Feng's spiritual pet might not be on his level, but its power was several times greater. Naturally, they preferred to team up with Han Feng. They'd earn more gold coins, and they'd get to play with the chinchilla too. What's not to love?

And for Han Feng? The pleasure of beautiful company, a chance to flaunt his prowess – it was all upside for him.
