C14 Love at First Sight?

"You two seem to be hitting it off. Did you know each other before?" A familiar voice rang out, prompting Faang Yu and Lin Xiaoxuan to look up. Su Ruoxue approached, clad in a crisp white suit, wine glass in hand, her high heels clicking confidently on the floor.

Su Ruoxue today was much the same as when they'd encountered her at the Myriad Spirit General Store a couple of days prior. The suit was the same, as was the formidable aura that seemed to keep others at arm's length. Most men would likely feel inferior after just one glance at her.

"Sister Ruoxue, it's been ages!" Lin Xiaoxuan set down her wine glass and enveloped Su Ruoxue in a warm embrace.

"We just had afternoon tea together yesterday," Su Ruoxue replied with an indulgent eye roll.

"A day apart feels like an eternity!" Lin Xiaoxuan nuzzled Su Ruoxue's chest playfully.

Faang Yu's skin crawled at the exchange.

A day apart feels like an eternity? Wasn't that line usually reserved for romantic partners?

The thought of Lin Xiaoxuan preferring women crossed his mind. With the already skewed male-to-female ratio, what would happen if women started turning to each other? What about the men? Faang Yu pondered his own single status with a twinge of concern.

Su Ruoxue, familiar with her friend's antics, found the display a bit much, especially in public. She caught someone rubbing their arms uncomfortably and shot them a stern look before giving Lin Xiaoxuan a gentle pat on the back.

Realizing the inappropriateness of her behavior, Lin Xiaoxuan released her hug, still grinning. Before stepping away, she couldn't resist a playful jab: "Sister Ruoxue, you seem to have grown a bit. Whoever ends up with you is going to be the luckiest person alive!"

The subtext wasn't lost on anyone from the younger generation.

Even the usually stoic Su Ruoxue felt a blush creep onto her cheeks. She shot Lin Xiaoxuan a mock-annoyed look and retorted, "As if you're one to talk!"

"Giggle, I still have a ways to go to catch up to Sister Ruoxue," Lin Xiaoxuan admitted, feigning a sense of inferiority.

Su Ruoxue remained silent.

Faang Yu acted as if he hadn't heard a thing. Yet, he couldn't resist sneaking a peek at a certain area of the two women. Luckily, his glance was discreet enough to go unnoticed by them.

"Faang Yu, I'd like to discuss something with you," Su Ruoxue said, approaching him once the delicate topic was closed.

"What's up?" Faang Yu asked, caught off guard.

"It's about the Pill," Su Ruoxue prompted.

"Ah, that. How's it going? The Pill I gave you works well, doesn't it? I told you, it's a quick fix for menstrual cramps!" Faang Yu boasted with unwavering confidence in his product, completely oblivious to the chill in Su Ruoxue's demeanor.

"Seriously? Sister Ruoxue, you shared your menstrual issues with him? You've only just met, haven't you? Is this what they call love at first sight? But isn't this moving a bit too fast?" Lin Xiaoxuan exclaimed, her surprise as if she had stumbled upon a revelation. Her eyes were wide with astonishment, and her voice carried across the room, sparing no effort to be discreet. Almost everyone overheard.

Instantly, heads turned their way, driven by curiosity. While most people quickly looked away, a number of young onlookers kept their attention fixed on the unfolding scene.

Su Ruoxue, the daughter of Su's Group's chairman and granddaughter of its founder, was always a person of interest to many ambitious young men.

The mention of her name alone was enough to pique their interest.

At that moment, a dashing young man in a tuxedo, wine glass in hand, made his way over.

"Ruoxue, it's been too long!" The young man, Fann Jianrong, was the second son of Fan Junxiang, the chairman of Longxing Automobile. Unlike his astute elder brother, Fann Jianrong preferred to savor the pleasures of life. Having met Su Ruoxue during his studies in the United States three years prior, he was smitten and had pursued her relentlessly from abroad to home soil. Though he had yet to win her over, he considered himself to be her closest male friend.

He had been engrossed in conversation with friends and hadn't noticed Su Ruoxue, but Lin Xiaoxuan's voice had caught everyone's attention—including his, and he was far from hard of hearing.

The thought of the woman he fancied possibly falling for another man at first sight was enough to derail any chat. His jealousy flared even more when he saw Faang Yu's handsome appearance and sharp dress sense.

Su Ruoxue was on the verge of giving her best friend a piece of her mind. Spouting nonsense was one thing, but doing it at full volume? Was she trying to sabotage her?

With all eyes on her, even someone as cool and aloof as Ruoxue nearly succumbed to the urge to find a hole to crawl into.

But with Fann Jianrong approaching, she had to rein in her impulse, biding her time to deal with Lin Xiaoxuan later. And Faang Yu wasn't off the hook either. Sure, his words weren't wrong, but some things are better left unsaid, aren't they?

Faang Yu shivered under Su Ruoxue's icy stare, feeling as if she wanted to flay him alive. He racked his brain but couldn't recall offending her—unless it was something from two days ago. But if she were truly upset, why would she approach him to discuss the Pill?

Ah, the enigma of a woman's heart—more elusive than a needle in the ocean!

Even with a past romance under his belt, Faang Yu was baffled by the swift shifts in her mood.

He contemplated presenting the Dragon and Phoenix pendant to Old Master Su early as a housewarming gift, then seizing the chance to make his exit.

After all, what could he do if she sought retribution? He couldn't very well engage in a brawl with a woman—he wasn't Shea Rongfan, the infamous bruiser.

Luckily for him, Su Ruoxue's gaze was brief. She turned her attention to Fann Jianrong, and while Faang Yu maintained a facade of calm, he was inwardly breathing a sigh of relief. Not daring to linger, he looked for the quickest way out.

"Where are you headed?" A chilly voice rose from behind Faang Yu.

He spun around to find Su Ruoxue glaring at him with clear disapproval. Her piercing stare sent a shiver down his spine, making him squirm as if he had been caught in the act of something scandalous with another woman while in a relationship with Su Ruoxue. Sheepishly, he muttered, "Just taking a stroll!"

Su Ruoxue's brows knitted together, the iciness in her eyes intensifying. "Didn't I mention that I needed to discuss something with you?"

The words struck a chord with Fann Jianrong, who was listening nearby. The meaning seemed to shift, and a frosty gleam flickered in his eyes.
