C2 Her Words Were Shocking and Earthshattering!

In his view, Faang Yu's recent antics were nothing short of mockery. Had it not been for his reputation and the presence of numerous employees from the planning department, Shea Rongfan might have lost his temper completely.

The suppressed rage emanating from Shea Rongfan was palpable to nearly everyone there.

Yet, Faang Yu feigned ignorance, responding with a smile, "Surely no one would jest about resigning, right? And if I'm not mistaken, the incoming Team Leader Wan Li is one of your people, isn't she, Manager Shea? Perhaps we should disclose the nature of your relationship to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings later on, don't you think?"

During the conversation, Faang Yu casually slapped Shea Rongfan on the shoulder, secretly allowing the True Word Talisman in his hand to slip through the fabric of Shea's clothes and into his body without a trace.

You play your game, and I'll play mine!

Faang Yu did indeed have his sights set on the team leader position, but it wasn't a do-or-die situation for him. He would have gracefully conceded to someone more capable, but Wan Li's sudden rise wasn't due to superior skills—it was her connections, likely with Shea Rongfan himself.

The exact nature of Wan Li's relationship with Shea—whether she was a relative or something more—was unclear to Faang Yu. But either way, he found this kind of underhanded competition unacceptable.

Every company has its unwritten rules, and while many resign themselves to this reality, Faang Yu was not one to take it lying down. He might not be able to overturn the company's appointment, but that wouldn't stop him from putting up a fight and giving Shea Rongfan a hard time.

Unaware of the talisman's effect, Shea Rongfan internally scoffed at Faang Yu's words. He knew all too well the clandestine nature of his relationship with Wan Li—a secret best kept in the dark.

Why would he ever bring it to light?

Still, he had to maintain a facade of integrity, especially with the planning department staff watching and beginning to harbor suspicions. Despite the lack of concrete evidence, he knew the damage that rumors could cause and decided to 'clarify' the situation. But as the True Word Talisman took hold, the words that came out left everyone in the room utterly astonished and in disbelief.

"Since we're being honest, I'll lay it out for you. You're not wrong—Wan Li is with me. She spent a week in my bed, and this is her compensation. The role of Planning Department head should've been yours, but my woman needed it, didn't she?" Shea Rongfan spoke with animated confidence, his words dripping with scorn for Faang Yu. He became increasingly impassioned, oblivious to the inappropriateness of his revelations.

Behind him, Wan Li's alluring face was now a storm of dark expressions. The odd glances from the Planning Department's staff directed at her and Shea Rongfan made her want to vanish into thin air. At that moment, she was entertaining thoughts of throttling Shea Rongfan.

Such transactions were meant to be secret. Others would go to great lengths to conceal them, but not Shea Rongfan, the foolhardy fat man, who blabbed openly in front of a crowd. How was she supposed to show her face after this?

"Has the manager lost his mind? To disclose such a thing in front of us, and to do so boastfully, as if it's something to be proud of!" The Planning Department staff were baffled by the bizarre spectacle.

Shea Rongfan, with twenty years in the business world, should have known better than to be so rash. These were not matters to be casually aired.

It's no secret that corporate higher-ups often engage in unsavory practices with female subordinates or engage in nepotism, but these are typically under-the-table affairs, an unspoken rule everyone silently acknowledges.

As long as there's no solid proof, companies usually look the other way.

But once the evidence is undeniable, the involved parties, regardless of rank, are expected to pack up and leave. The Middle Distance Group had its fair share of such cases.

Yet Shea Rongfan was unprecedented in openly discussing his affair with a subordinate, and even more so, doing it with such a self-satisfied air.

This was truly a first!

However, their attention quickly shifted to Faang Yu, who was calmly packing his belongings, seemingly unaffected by the drama unfolding. To him, it appeared as if all of this was of no consequence whatsoever.

Shea Rongfan seemed perfectly normal at first, but his behavior took a strange turn right after Faang Yu gave his shoulder a pat, didn't it? Was it really just a simple pat from Faang Yu that caused such a change? What kind of bizarre trick did this kid pull off?

A wave of inexplicable dread suddenly surged within the hearts of the Planning Department employees, sending shivers down their spines. Particularly those who weren't very close to Faang Yu, and the ones who had recently sought thrills due to their single status, were now determined to steer clear of him. Nobody wanted their personal secrets spilled by their own lips.

If their secrets were exposed, they'd lose all dignity and couldn't bear to remain in the company. And if their friends and family found out, the shame would be unbearable.

...

Meanwhile, on the 18th floor in the Vice President's office, a middle-aged man approaching fifty was deftly navigating his computer. As an executive of the Middle Distance Group, he was swamped with tasks.

Knock, knock!

"Come in!" The middle-aged man, without taking his eyes off the computer, called out.

A young man in his thirties, dressed in a black suit, entered with a look of deference. He was likely the middle-aged man's secretary.

"What's the matter?" inquired the middle-aged man, known as Xie Bi, to the young man opposite him, Zhou Yuan, who was indeed his secretary.

"Vice President, there's been an incident in the Planning Department downstairs that I need to brief you on," Zhou Yuan stated with respect.

"Oh? What happened? Let's hear it," Xie Bi responded, his demeanor serene yet attentive as he set aside his work to focus on Zhou Yuan.

Zhou Yuan carefully chose his words and began to recount the events.

Xie Bi maintained a composed facade initially, but his expression soon shifted from partly cloudy to overcast with storm clouds gathering.

"This damn fool!" Xie Bi muttered darkly. If Shea Rongfan were in front of him at that moment, he felt he might just strangle the man.

Shea Rongfan had been a mid-level employee when he first joined the company and had been under Xie Bi's wing. Over the years, Xie Bi had climbed the ranks to his current role as Vice President. Shea Rongfan, as part of his team and with no small amount of talent, had naturally risen with the tide, eventually becoming the manager of the Planning Department.

The Middle Distance Group is a massive enterprise, and naturally, factions are bound to arise within such a large organization.

As for the general manager and the chairman, there's no need to go into that; they're family, and since the company was established by the chairman, the question of factions doesn't really apply to them.

But under the general manager, including himself, there are four vice presidents, and it's fair to say that they are fiercely competitive with one another.
