C1 Zhang Fann (part I)

"Ding ding ding!"

Shortly after the loud and distinctive ringing sound that resounded through the entire campus, hordes of students rushed out of the pristine white and jade-line teaching building. The previously silent campus was suddenly filled with clamoring. These students chatted boisterously amongst themselves in groups of three of five while heading towards the school's entrance.

At that moment, an enormous golden bell was perched on the roof of the teaching building right in the center of Singhua High School. The time displayed on the bell was four in the afternoon.

"Fann, how are you recently? With your current strength, are you confident in being a warrior before the college entrance exam?"

Just then, the anticipatory voice of a tall and brawny boy rang out. He seemed to be asking this question to the other boy next to him.

"Eh? Zhi, how can becoming a warrior be so easy? When the time comes, we can't do much but try our best."

The young boy next to him was clad in a light blue sports coat. Even with the coat on, the boy still looked somewhat skinny. Upon hearing the question from his friend, his lips stretched into a bitter smile as he responded.

Zhang Fann—that was the name of the scrawny boy. Contrary to his appearance, he was already a senior year student. Meanwhile, the robust boy next to him was Hu Zhi. The two were inseparable childhood friends that had grown up together.

"Beep! Beep! Beep!"

The disruptive sound of a horn beeping rose above the voices of the students. The sound seemed to be coming from the entrance of Singhua High School. Just then, a beautiful sports car in a baby blue shade cruised into the campus.

The car came to a halt in front of Zhang Fann and Hu Zhi, much to the astonishment of the crowd.

The car door open and a young man who had to be at least 1.8 meters tall emerged from the depths of the car. In contrast to the students' clothes, this man was dressed in elegant and noble clothing. He seemed to be in no rush as he sauntered out of the car. The students couldn't help but shudder slightly as he walked, the man emitted a cold and domineering aura from head to toe.

"Look, isn't that Starlight High School's genius, Lei Zhan?"

"Yeah, it's him! But I wonder, why did he stop in front of Zhang Fann?"

"Hehe, it's definitely because of Lau Ruyan. Didn't you hear? Zhan Fann and Lau Ruyan have started to get very close. However, I heard that Lei Zhan has been secretly trying to pursue Lau Ruyan."

"So he must be here to warn Zhang Fann!"

Because of the popularity of the young man, the students around them started to gather and whisper discreetly amongst themselves.

As Zhang Fann met Lei Zhan's gaze, he was met by a pair of icy cold orbs.

As the young master of Star City's Lei family, Lei Zhan was also naturally the genius of the highest-ranked high school in Star City. Because of his natural intellect and rank, Lei Zhan had never experienced emotions such as frustration and anger ever since he was born.

However, this all changed when Zhang Fann started to intrude into his personal life. The very sight of Zhang Fann alone was enough to infuriate Lei Zhan, his tolerance was at it's limit.

This was all because of one person, Lau Ruyan.

As the beloved and extremely talented daughter of the Lau family, Lau Ruyan amassed a reputation for herself as the ideal girl in the eyes of Star City's people.

Someone like Lau Ruyan would suit Lei Zhan perfectly. Out of Lau Ruyan's many pursuers, he was the best of them all.

However, what frustrated Lei Zhan was the fact that Lau Ruyan was indifferent and cold to everyone, regardless of their status. The only exception to this was Zhang Fann, who left a good impression on her.

This naturally displeased Lei Zhan, who had always felt that he was superior to others. The only person Lau Ruyan should treat differently was him!

Naturally, he would pick fights with Zhang Fann out of boredom.

"Zhang Fann, this is the last time. I'm warning warn you. Stay away from Ruyan, a lowly commoner like you shouldn't even dare to get close to her."

"Don't forget, the college entrance test is coming soon. With your strength, the most you can become is a warrior."

"You're nothing as compared to Ruyan, who's now a powerful warrior. In fact, even the Battle Sect is looking to recruit her into their sect."

"The gap between you two is a hundred thousand feet wide!"

"If you continue to have your head in the clouds, then you can't blame anyone else but yourself when reality sinks in."

Having finished his speech, Lei Zhan took one last glare at Zhang Fann as his eyes swept across him from head to toe. Without waiting for a response, he turned on his heel and drove away from Singhua High School.
