C8 You Are Actually the Landlord!

She caught Faang Cheng's gaze.

Zhou Yuvwei's brow furrowed slightly as she briskly stepped into the open elevator beside her, promptly shutting the door behind her.

"Why does it feel like I've seen this person somewhere before? Maybe it's because they're attractive, and I think we've crossed paths?"

Zhou Yuvwei mumbled to herself inside the elevator. As the doors slid open, she was greeted with an apology.

"Sorry, Miss Zhou. I should have been downstairs to meet you, but I got tied up with something else!"

Exiting the elevator, Zhou Yuvwei was approached by two individuals clad in suits.

They were on the business floor of the Jiang River Office Building.

These were the business representatives Zhou Yuvwei had scheduled to meet.

"No worries. Let's have a look around first!"

Zhou Yuvwei glanced around, seemingly indifferent.

After all, if the deal could be made, the rest was negotiable.

Upon hearing her words, the two suited staff bowed respectfully and produced a hefty binder.

"Please, follow us for a tour."

One of them spoke, while the other quickly fetched a cup of tea from a nearby counter, pouring it for Zhou Yuvwei as they walked.

A few sips of tea later, Zhou Yuvwei's discomfort had vanished.

The Jiang River Office Building, being a city landmark, boasted opulent decor and numerous floors.

After touring the building, Zhou Yuvwei's legs felt like they weren't her own.

"Miss Zhou, which one suits your fancy?"

Exhausted, Zhou Yuvwei sank into a leather sofa, feeling revived, and began perusing their brochure.

"I'll take this one. It's high up, has a great view, and the natural light and ventilation are impressive."

Zhou Yuvwei had her eye on an ultra-luxurious office suite.

The two business staff could barely contain their elation.

"How long would you like to lease it? Just this room, or...?"

"The whole floor!"

At Zhou Yuvwei's declaration, the two staff hurried to fetch the lease agreement.

Given its status as a landmark, the rent for the building was, of course, steep.

Renting a room for an entire year would set you back at least a hundred million, and that's just for one room—imagine the cost for an entire floor.

Zhou Yuvwei confidently flicked her card and signed the contract with a flourish, reaching out her hand to seal the deal.

The two sales associates eagerly nodded in agreement.

But when they went to retrieve the key and inform the landlord to finalize the contract, they were suddenly at a loss.

They were all aware that the building had a new owner.

What they hadn't anticipated was the difficulty in reaching Faang Cheng via the phone number provided on the contract.

No matter how they tried, Faang Cheng's number was unreachable.

And with Faang Cheng as the new landlord, his signature was essential—without it, the contract was void.

"What?! You all look so earnest; you can't be joking with me. I came here specifically for this! You can't get in touch with him?" Zhou Yuvwei leapt from the leather sofa, visibly upset.

The news from the salesmen, relayed by the manager, had her so incensed that her chest heaved with indignation.

This was not the start she had envisioned.

She had planned to use this as a springboard to gradually prove her worth to her family.

And now, she couldn't even get the contract finalized!

"Miss Zhou, please, there's no need to worry. We'll definitely get ahold of him. It's just that it might be a bit complicated, and it could take a few days," they assured her.

They had no clue about Faang Cheng's whereabouts.

The salesmen's words were merely an attempt to placate Zhou Yuvwei.

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yuvwei's lips puckered in dissatisfaction.

"You're aware of how in-demand the Riverview Office Building is, aren't you? The floor I'm interested in is particularly appealing. What if it gets snatched up in the next few days? Even if I've paid a deposit, if someone else comes along and pays in full before me, you'd still make the sale, wouldn't you?" she challenged them.

Just then, Zhou Yuvwei's phone erupted with a ring.

Her irritation mounted as she saw the caller ID, and with a frustrated stomp, she answered the call.

"Xiao Wei, the butler mentioned you're venturing into business, and you went to check out office spaces today?"

Zhou Yuvwei held her tongue, while the voice on the other end prattled on.

"How many times have I told you to stop wasting your time on these pointless endeavors? Think carefully about the opportunity to meet the eldest son from that other family I mentioned last time!"

The moment Zhou Yuvwei heard these words, an image of a pig's head flashed through her mind, making her feel nauseous.

"Are you even listening? Honestly, you're such a handful! Can't you give me some peace of mind? A young lady should act the part!"

With that, the call was abruptly ended, leaving Zhou Yuvwei listening to the dial tone. She glanced at the contract the landlord had yet to sign, feeling a blaze of anger igniting within her.

"Perhaps you could wait a bit longer, Miss Zhou? We can try to reach out again," suggested the salesperson cautiously, noticing Zhou Yuvwei's barely contained fury.

Zhou Yuvwei let out a cold huff of displeasure.

"I haven't got all day! Goodbye!"

With those words, she strode towards the exit. She had chosen this location for its good fortune, but things were not going her way.

The two salespeople watched helplessly as Zhou Yuvwei walked away, exchanging a resigned look and sighing softly. They felt as though they were watching a significant deal—and a piece of themselves—slip away.

But then, the elevator doors opened. Zhou Yuvwei, about to step in, froze. There stood Faang Cheng, stepping out of the elevator.

"What are you doing here?" she blurted out before she could stop herself, quickly covering her mouth in embarrassment.

Faang Cheng caught Zhou Yuvwei's wide-eyed, flushed expression and felt a flutter in his chest. He hadn't planned on returning.

Yet, a sudden alert from his system had brought him back here, just as he was on his way to furnish his new home.

"Mr. Fang!"

Upon seeing Faang Cheng, the two salespeople's spirits lifted as if they had witnessed a savior's arrival. They practically glided over to him, eager and hopeful.

Before Faang Cheng could even react, a contract was swiftly placed in front of him. Recognizing the name on it, he instantly grasped what the system had hinted at earlier.

"Please, have a seat, Miss Zhou," someone urged. "Mr. Fang has arrived, and he can sign your contract now!"

Zhou Yuvwei was taken aback by the sight of the man before her, dressed in an outfit that didn't seem to cost more than 500 yuan. Could this young man, in such simple attire, really be the owner of the building?

As she looked at Faang Cheng, Zhou Yuvwei's thoughts began to churn with surprise. It was hard for her to believe that someone so young could be the landlord of the Guanjiang Office Building.
