C6 Hug Sleep

Zhang Chen was feeling frustrated too.

He took a seat, poured himself a glass of wine, and declared with gusto, "Let's drop that subject and just focus on the drinking. We're not heading home until we're thoroughly plastered!"

What could possibly ease his worries? Only Du Kang could!

Su Mang watched Zhang Chen with a look of concern and raised her glass in solidarity.

They lost track of both time and the amount they drank.

After they finished drinking, Zhang Chen and Su Mang supported each other as they stumbled out of the hotel and made their way back to Su Mang's villa.

Zhang Chen's head spun, and his stomach roiled.

Stepping out of the car, a gust of wind seemed to clear his head a bit, and the drunken haze lifted somewhat.

He had assumed Fourth Sister would be home, but the villa was still empty when they entered.

"Fourth Sister probably had to work late again. There's no telling when she'll be back," Su Mang mumbled groggily.

With that, they collapsed onto the sofa, nestled close together.

They hadn't noticed anything amiss on the way there, but now, lying on the sofa, Zhang Chen became acutely aware of their compromising position.

He quickly wriggled away, his face flushed with heat.

Since parting ways with his sisters, Zhang Chen hadn't been this close to any woman—not even his wife of three years, whom he had never so much as held hands with.

This level of intimacy was unsettling for him.

"What's the matter? You weren't shy about cuddling up to me for sleep when you were little," Su Mang teased, her gaze hazy but focused on him.

Embarrassed, Zhang Chen replied, "Third Sister, those were childhood days."

Su Mang feigned displeasure and said, "Oh, so you're saying now that you're all grown up, you've grown distant from me? Now that you have a wife, you don't need your sisters anymore, is that it?"

Zhang Chen was flustered.

"That's not what I meant."

He struggled to find the right words, his embarrassment growing.

Su Mang watched him fondly, in no rush.

Finally, Zhang Chen found his voice and said cheerfully, "Third Sister, no matter what, I could never grow distant from my sisters. You are all my family, after all."

"Your words are as sweet as honey. We're close, aren't we?" Su Mang teased with a coy smile.

Zhang Chen thumped his chest confidently, "Absolutely!"

With a sly grin, Su Mang declared airily, "Well then, to prove our closeness, you'll hug me to sleep tonight."

Zhang Chen's grin widened, "No problem at all." But his words hung unfinished as he suddenly froze.

Lifting his head, Zhang Chen stared at Su Mang, his face a mask of confusion. Sleep together? He gulped, his eyes involuntarily drawn to Su Mang's enticing figure.

"No way, how can we do that? Third Sister, we're too old to share a bed," Zhang Chen protested, shaking his head and waving his hands in embarrassment.

"So you claim we're close?" Su Mang's expression chilled, her dissatisfaction evident.

Zhang Chen offered a wry smile, "Third Sister, it's not the same thing."

"No need to explain. I get it, with your wife being so gorgeous and all," Su Mang dismissed with a flick of her hand, her face set in a look of feigned disinterest.

Zhang Chen was at a loss.

He inhaled deeply, resigning himself as he said, "Alright, I'll sleep with you, is that okay?"

Zhang Chen felt cornered, but the last thing he wanted was to upset Su Mang. Besides, they were both fully clothed.

Comforted by that thought, Zhang Chen allowed himself to relax.

Su Mang's smile blossomed, "That's my good little brother." She then opened her arms wide.

Zhang Chen paused, asking bewilderedly, "What are you doing?"

With a touch of haughtiness, Su Mang instructed, "You're going to hold me while we sleep."

Zhang Chen's heart pounded as he once again took in her long, graceful legs, her statuesque figure, and her stunningly beautiful face, now flushed and her gaze slightly unfocused.

Taking a deep breath, Zhang Chen hesitated before finally moving to embrace Su Mang.

She was light in his arms, yet Zhang Chen moved with deliberate care. Despite holding her close, he was determined to act honorably, not wanting to give Su Mang any reason to doubt his intentions.

After exerting himself for what felt like an eternity, he finally made it to Su Mang's bedroom.

Once he tucked Su Mang into the covers, he let out a deep sigh of relief and collapsed onto the bed.

With the lights off, he braced himself and slid under the blanket, making sure to keep a respectful distance from Su Mang.

Su Mang was inebriated and thoroughly disoriented, which quickly made his head spin.

She drifted off into a deep sleep not long after.

Zhang Chen breathed another sigh of relief.

Despite his discomfort, there was no longer any need to worry with Su Mang asleep.

His eyes shut, and dizziness washed over him as he too succumbed to sleep.

But just then, the bedroom door swung open.

The click-clack of high heels echoed in the room.

Zhang Chen's awareness flickered; he groggily opened his eyes to pitch darkness, guided only by faint sounds.

Before he could gather his thoughts, someone lifted his blanket and slid in beside him!
