C10 System Bug!

Beginner! What an alluring title. Why do I long for it, you ask? Haven't you read the previous chapter? Any given Passive Skill is a Divine Skill! And I, Yang Rui, am a Beginner too!

Yet, even as a Beginner, these three Gain Skills would make anyone green with envy. But if I had to choose just one...

The Beginner's Privilege Gain Skill 'The More, The Better' offers a 50% chance to receive an additional reward item or Experience Point whenever a reward is claimed. This skill cannot be upgraded.

'The More You Accumulate, The More You Gain' is another Beginner's Privilege Gain Skill that grants the host an extra Experience Point every minute, with the potential for upgrading under the right conditions.

The Near-death Guard Beginner's Privilege Gain Skill is a lifesaver, maintaining at least one HP for the host in the face of fatal damage, inducing a state of feigned death that eludes detection, with a cooldown period of 12,000 hours.

These three skills, verging on being bugs, defy all reason, but that's the Beginner's Privilege. For me, Yang Rui, 'The More You Accumulate, The More You Gain' is currently the most essential, as it ensures steady progress toward the next level, albeit gradually. Next in line is the Near-death Guard, a crucial skill to prevent being taken out by surprise attacks.

And so, Yang Rui was torn. The only skill that seemed superfluous at the moment was 'The More, The Better.' Not because it lacked utility—on the contrary, it was immensely beneficial—but the timing was off, rendering it somewhat redundant. Yet, objectively speaking, 'The More, The Better' Passive Skill is valuable to anyone, with its tempting rewards and Experience Points.

Ahem! Back to the matter at hand, Yang Rui was convinced he would never opt for 'The More, The Better.' Both the Near-death Guard and the steady accumulation of Experience Points held more immediate value. However, Yang Rui's current concern wasn't about choosing between these skills, but rather a potential system bug he had inadvertently stumbled upon. He couldn't tell if it was a glitch or a misunderstanding on his part.

The Beginner's Privilege Gain Skill grants the host a 50% chance of receiving an additional reward item or experience points when a reward is obtained. This skill is not upgradable.

It was unclear whether the skill's effect would activate upon acquisition or upon use. This uncertainty was what Yang Rui was grappling with—whether to choose this skill. If it was a system glitch, it could mean he might also gain one of the other two skills or additional experience points.

Hmm, there's a chance!

Chuncao and Yixia, the two maids, were somewhat bewildered as they followed Yang Rui. Since their young master had dealt with that troublemaker from the Ximen family, he had been lost in thought, leaving them clueless about what was on his mind. They exchanged glances, each seeing the question in the other's eyes, but neither dared to ask. So, they simply accompanied Yang Rui, matching his pace as they headed toward the heart of Chiba City.

Yang Rui was aware of his actions. After all, no one else knew or could see his system interface; they could only assume he was deep in contemplation.

At that moment, he was indeed pondering something crucial. But he decided to take a gamble. If he guessed right, all would be well with a promising future. If wrong, there was little to lose.

"Choose the Gain Skill, the more the merrier!"

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining the Beginner's Gain Skill!"

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for triggering the Beginner's Passive Gain Skill!"

"Ding! The host has discovered a logic bug in the System Interface, which has now been patched. This error will not recur!"

"Yes! I made the right bet!" Yang Rui exclaimed, his fist pumping in excitement, startling Chuncao and Yixia. Without time for explanations, he hurriedly accessed the System Interface to review his details:

Anti-injury Thorn Armor Level 1 is a passive skill that has a 10% chance to reflect 100% of an enemy's attack back at them. The more ferocious the enemy's attack, the quicker their downfall—it could be yours or theirs!

More is Better, a Beginner's Privilege skill, gives the host a 50% chance to receive an additional reward item or experience point when awarded. This skill is not upgradable.

Little by Little, another Beginner's Privilege skill, embodies the saying that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. It allows the host to gain an extra experience point every minute and can be upgraded under the right conditions.

"Hmm, with Little by Little, this divine skill, I can accumulate 1440 experience points every day. Gradually, I'll reach the pinnacle of life!" At this moment, Yang Rui was ecstatic. Anyone would be thrilled to receive two Beginner Divine Skills—it felt like a breakthrough to clear skies and sunshine, utterly exhilarating!

That afternoon, Yang Rui had explored a third of Chiba City, and only when he felt completely content did he joyfully return to the Yang family home with Chuncao and Yixia. Upon arrival, Yang Rui instructed Chuncao and Yixia, "You two take a break for the next couple of days. I'm going to start practicing the Spirit Tempering Spell and would prefer not to be disturbed for the time being."

After speaking, he turned and walked away. Chuncao and Yixia reluctantly accepted the situation. They couldn't very well allow the young master to barge in and start yelling while they were in the middle of their cultivation, could they? If they inadvertently caused the young master to deviate from his path and succumb to demonic possession, the consequences would be dire.

Back in his own room, Yang Rui burst into hearty laughter. "That was exhilarating! So that's how it's done. But it's a one-time deal. The rest of the logic must have been adjusted by now."

Still, it was quite a coup to have gained such an advantage. He dared not dwell on it too much. It was time to focus on how to cultivate. Even though he had grasped the Spirit Tempering Spell, the actual practice was anything but easy; it was downright grueling. For starters, Yang Rui's meridians were beginning to close up. The first step in cultivating the Spirit Tempering Spell was to channel spiritual energy into the body and circulate it through the meridians to refine them. The second step was even more baffling to Yang Rui, as the gap between understanding and actual practice was staggering.

To sum it up: I, the esteemed young master, have no clue how to cultivate!

Luckily, he had comprehended two cultivation methods and could cross-reference them. With that, Yang Rui sat cross-legged on his bed and embarked on his first-ever cultivation session! Following the instructions from the cultivation method, he formed a hand seal over his chest. As soon as the seal was complete, he noticed something extraordinary.
