C10 I Am a Madman

In this modern society, committing murder in broad daylight was unquestionably a crime. If he killed someone, he would undoubtedly be implicated as well.

As this thought crossed his mind, Hu Yang witnessed Lee Yuanba firmly grasping the thug's ankles, one in each hand. Oh my, he wasn't seriously going to rip the guy apart, was he?

"Lee Yuanba, don't kill him!" Hu Yang yelled, only to be met with the unexpected echo of Hsiao Xinya's light laughter in his head. She must have thought he was making a joke with Lee Yuanba.

With a grunt, Lee Yuanba hurled the thug from his grip.

Splash!

The man was sent flying into a pool ten meters away.

Lee Yuanba, still not satisfied, unleashed a flurry of kicks on the three dumbstruck thugs nearby.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The trio hit the ground, wailing in pain. Lee Yuanba didn't spare them a glance as he turned his icy gaze toward Jin Nanyu.

"Are you their leader?"

Jin Nanyu, shaking with fear, stuttered out, "What... leader?"

Smack! Smack! Smack!

"Quit your act!" Lee Yuanba, believing Jin was playing dumb, scoffed and leaped into action, delivering several resounding slaps.

Jin Nanyu's teeth scattered as blood filled his mouth, and he toppled to the ground, dazed.

The crowd of onlookers was stunned into silence, with even Hsiao Xinya looking on in bewilderment.

Lee Yuanba then raised his hand, pointing at the spectators, and asked, "Master, what should we do with these fools?"

Hearing this, the crowd backed away in terror.

Hu Yang felt a rush of satisfaction. With this formidable and endearingly foolish Lee Yuanba by my side, who would I ever fear?

"Lee Yuanba, these people are not involved in this..."

But no, they had just scorned and belittled him. They deserved a lesson.

With that thought, Hu Yang shifted gears and declared, "Hand out two slaps each..."

Before he could finish, Lee Yuanba was already on the move. The air filled with the sound of screams and sharp slaps. Hu Yang, momentarily taken aback, quickly drew the ashen-faced Hsiao Xinya to his side, calling out, "She's with us, don't harm her."

Lee Yuanba let out a grunt and relentlessly pursued the scattering "audience" members.

This lunatic was determined not to spare a single one!

And to think, he leaped over three meters high, shattering the world high jump record with ease. How could that be possible?

Was this guy even human?

Hu Yang felt a wave of relief that the police hadn't shown up. After all, in this modern age brimming with firearms, Lee Yuanba's fighting prowess was no match for a gun.

But it didn't matter how he chose to play his hand; he was a man out of time, and Hu Yang had no intention of fretting over someone from the past.

With the thought of Wan waiting for the life-altering Rebirth Spirit Pill, Hu Yang didn't hesitate. He turned on his heel and left, confident that Lee Yuanba would seek him out once he was done with his brawl.

After all, if Lee Yuanba could travel through time and pinpoint him with such accuracy, he must have some extraordinary means at his disposal.

Settling into the taxi, Hu Yang's spirits soared. In under two hours, he had racked up nearly seven thousand points. Wan's salvation was in sight!

Bursting into the hospital, he found Wan seated in Zhang Ling's office, quietly dabbing at her tears.

Upon Hu Yang's return, Wan remained seated, her face etched with sorrow. "Did you get the antidote?" she asked.

"It's almost in my hands," Hu Yang replied with a triumphant grin.

"Don't tease me. I'm already feeling low," Wan said, tugging at her sleeve, her mood somber.

Hu Yang noticed fine hairs sprouting on her wrist. The fur seemed to be growing thicker by the minute, barely stopping short of her face and neck.

Zhang Ling, busy with medical charts, suddenly shot him a stern look, her expression icy.

"I've consulted with the hospital's top dermatologist and geneticist. Wan's case of atavism is incredibly rare, occurring in perhaps one in a hundred thousand people, and hers is the most severe, a Category C. With today's medical capabilities, there's simply no cure! I've explained the situation to her in detail and prescribed medication to inhibit the growth. There's no need for false promises of an antidote. Just take her home and care for her properly."

"Why are you administering medicine to suppress her growth?" Hu Yang inquired.

"Though the medication will prevent her from growing taller, we're out of options. Without it, her body hair will thicken and spread until it covers every inch of her skin, face included!" Zhang Ling added with a touch of scorn, "I'm not sure what you've been giving her, but it's clear that your treatment may have only been a catalyst. So, it's not entirely your fault."

With a nonchalant glance at Zhang Ling, Hu Yang reached for Wan's hand. "Come on, let's head home."

Wan's face was a mask of despair, her voice choked with sobs. She could barely speak, half-convinced that Hu Yang's promise of an antidote was just to comfort her.

As they left, Zhang Ling watched their retreating figures, shaking her head in lament. "Alas, the poor child is beyond help. Not even the legendary Hua Tuo could save her now."

In the taxi, Wan clung to Hu Yang, her voice tinged with anxiety, "Is the antidote truly going to work?"

Hu Yang, who had been brimming with confidence, suddenly felt a twinge of nervousness at her question. He had never tried it before; how could he be certain of its effectiveness?

"Don't worry, I'll give it to you as soon as we get home," he reassured her, instinctively accessing his cerebral system and swiftly navigating to the "Divine Demon Temple," where two of the four boxes were illuminated.

He focused on the boxes. One read "Universal Great Dao Cultivation Method" 1,200, and the other, "Body Reformation Golden Core" 4,500!

Hu Yang paused, momentarily tempted by the items before him, but he quickly realized they weren't the Rebirth Spirit Pill that Wan needed.

Next to them, a grey box bore barely visible lettering: Rebirth Spirit Pill, Out of Stock!

Out of stock? Damn it all!

Hu Yang nearly let loose a string of expletives. After all his efforts to accumulate points, the blasted system was out of stock! Was this some kind of sick joke?

Hu Yang glanced over at Wan, nestled against him, and took a deep breath to steady his emotions. He reminded himself that it was only midday, with several hours remaining until the two-day deadline. Perhaps, with a bit more patience, the Rebirth Spirit Pill would be ready.

Upon arriving home, Wan eagerly extended her hand to Hu Yang.

"The antidote is on its way. Just hold on a little longer..."

"How can I wait? Look at this!"

The black fuzz had spread to the back of her hand, and now fine hairs were sprouting on her face, making her resemble a big monkey in clothes at a cursory glance.

Feeling at a loss, Hu Yang struggled to find the words to comfort her. Just then, the door creaked open.

A stunning woman burst in!

Hu Yang did a double-take. That was Hsiao Xinya, wasn't it? What brought her here?
