"If you manage to pull this off, I'll give you a third of the upcoming rent. But fail, and you'll be on the hook for the company's losses!" Ma Kai declared with a menacing tone.

He was confident of victory, and his words were far from courteous.

"Great, I'm looking forward to it!" Ye Kai responded, his voice dripping with contempt.

"You've got two days. The clock starts now!" Ma Kai said, then turned away from Ye Kai, adopting an aloof demeanor.

Ye Kai was at a loss for words in the face of Ma Kai's audacity. Shaking his head, he turned and walked away.

Once Ye Kai was gone, Ma Kai allowed himself a scornful smirk. "The kid is a fool. How could he possibly think he can get rent from Mr. Loong? Mr. Loong is at odds with our company. If that kid dares to approach him, Mr. Loong is sure to deal with him!"

Ma Rulong commented with a chilling edge to his voice.

Ma Kai laughed darkly at the thought. "This is what happens when you cross me," he said, his voice icy.

"Follow him and report back to me with any updates!" Ma Kai commanded.

"Yes, sir!" Ma Rulong replied, already on his way out.

Back in the marketing department, Ye Kai was greeted by Su Ruoqing's worried expression. "Did he give you a hard time?" she asked, her concern evident in her serious tone.

Ye Kai felt a warmth in his chest at her concern. He smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry. It's not so easy to give me a hard time," he said, recounting the events that had transpired.

Su Ruoqing's expression soured as she listened, the gravity of the situation dawning on her. Her eyes widened in shock as she stared at Ye Kai. "You're not serious, are you? You're actually going to ask Mr. Loong for money?" she asked, her voice shaking.

Ye Kai was puzzled. "Is there a problem?" he asked incredulously.

Su Ruoqing let out a sigh. "Of course, there's a problem—a big one. Mr. Loong is now an enemy of our company. Going to him for the rent is like walking straight into a lion's den!"

Su Ruoqing's words carried a hint of concern.

Ye Kai offered a slight smile.

"Don't worry, I have a plan in mind!"

Given Ye Kai's intelligence and quick thinking, he was well aware of the implications. Still, he had his own strategies.

He had no intention of walking into a trap.

Especially since Ye Kai had a lottery draw at his disposal, which he could use at a pivotal moment to reverse any adverse situation.

He had considerable faith in himself.

"You really need to be careful!" Su Ruoqing's face flushed as she spoke.

She hadn't expected to express such concern.

Ye Kai gave a faint smile.

Clearly, Su Ruoqing was tough on the outside but tender on the inside, genuinely worried about him.

Contract in hand, he headed towards the Divine Dragon Bar. Regardless of Mr. Loong's reputation, Ye Kai wasn't concerned.

It was high noon, and the Divine Dragon Bar had just opened its doors. Naturally, it wasn't the time for drinking, so the bar was quite empty.

Yet, two muscular men stood guard at the entrance. Their formidable physiques and bulging muscles made it clear they were no ordinary men.

"These guys look formidable!"

Ye Kai assessed them in an instant. The two men were impressively strong, exuding an intimidating presence.

Ye Kai was somewhat taken aback by them.

But he was on a mission and would not be deterred.

Hands clasped behind his back, he approached the bar's entrance.

No sooner had he reached the door than the two men approached him.

"Who are you? We're not officially open yet, and you can't come in!" one of the men declared.

Ye Kai brandished the contract.

"Take a good look. I'm here to see your boss, Mr. Loong. Go and introduce me!" Ye Kai commanded with gravity.

Representing his company, he could not show any fear of Mr. Loong, lest he make a fool of himself.

Indeed, his commanding presence took the security guards by surprise; they had not expected Ye Kai to be so imposing.

The presence of Ye Kai left the two security guards speechless, his aura undeniably imposing.

"Hold on a moment..."

One guard jogged into the Divine Dragon Bar, and shortly after, he emerged, giving Ye Kai a thorough once-over.

"The boss says you can come in," he gestured with a beckoning hand.

His demeanor was intimidating, laced with an air of disdain. Picking up on this, Ye Kai followed him inside.

Upon entering, Ye Kai was immediately struck by the potent atmosphere of the bar, filled with an assortment of peculiar individuals.

Each one radiated an intense presence and formidable strength, something Ye Kai could easily discern.

His attention sharpened. Judging by the current vibe, the bar was nothing short of a den of dragons and a nest of tigers.

Mr. Loong's men were certainly formidable, but Ye Kai was unfazed. With the support of his system, showing fear would be a humiliating display.

And so, Ye Kai proceeded.

"Mr. Loong is inside. You may enter now," the guard stated coolly.

Ye Kai nodded and pushed open the door to the office.

Inside, he found three people.

The middle-aged man seated in the executive chair, with a subtle sneer on his face and an overwhelming presence, was undoubtedly Mr. Loong.

Flanking Mr. Loong were two others.

One was a slight, young man whose eyes held a chilly glint and whose face was marked by a cunning expression. Beside him sat another figure.

This was an elderly man with a white beard, carrying a medicine box that seemed somewhat out of place. From the box wafted a strong, somewhat acrid scent of medicinal herbs.

Clearly, the old man was a doctor.

The trio appeared to be in the midst of a discussion when Ye Kai entered.

Mr. Loong and his companions looked up, their expressions registering surprise, with Mr. Loong's brow furrowing in particular.

"Who are you?" Mr. Loong demanded.

His voice carried a note of displeasure and a probing tone, his demeanor towards Ye Kai one of scorn.

Ye Kai responded promptly, "Are you addressing me?"

Upon hearing Ye Kai's question, Mr. Loong paused, momentarily taken aback.

"Nonsense..." he muttered.
