C21 Peak of the Pulse Opening Stage
Yang Wei pulled out his car keys and unlocked the door to his vehicle. Yang Xixi, trailing behind him, caught sight of the scene and gasped in amazement.
"Cousin, is that a BMW? Is it yours?"
Instead of replying, Yang Wei simply opened the door, placed his bag on the seat, and turned to Yang Xixi with a smile.
"Work hard, and one day you'll definitely be able to afford an even better car."
Yang Xixi's face lit up with a joyful smile, and she felt a surge of happiness within.
I knew it! Pursuing my dreams in the big city is the right choice.
With this thought, Yang Xixi grinned at Yang Wei.
"Cousin, just you wait. I'll surely buy a car that surpasses your BMW one day!"
Seeing the earnest look on Yang Xixi's face, Yang Wei couldn't help but laugh.
They hit the road early in the morning, right at the peak of rush hour, and found themselves in bumper-to-bumper traffic stretching from east to west. Yang Wei grew impatient behind the wheel, while Yang Xixi, seated in the back, leaned against the window, her gaze fixed on the towering skyscrapers, her eyes reflecting her longing for city life.
After several hours, they finally arrived at Yang Wei's home. Stepping out of the car, Yang Xixi, with her backpack slung over her shoulder, gazed at the opulent villa before her, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Yang Wei had initially intended to rent an apartment for Yang Xixi, but the thought of her living alone made him uneasy. Deciding against it, he invited her to stay at his place instead. The house was too large for just one person, and having Yang Xixi there would not only fill the space but also ensure her safety under his watchful eye.
After settling in, Yang Xixi, beaming with contentment, asked,
"Cousin, have you really been living in this huge house all by yourself?"
Without a word, Yang Wei simply nodded.
Once Yang Xixi had finished arranging her room, Yang Wei took her out for a delicious meal, riding together on his electric scooter.
It was already noon when Yang Wei reminded himself that it was time to head to work. He had only requested a half-day off to pick up his cousin who had traveled from afar. Dressed and ready to leave, Yang Wei approached the door, which unexpectedly swung open from the outside. Initially on guard, he feared a burglar had broken in. But a second later, a curious face peeked through the doorway.
"Great Hero Yang, I'm impressed with how tidy you've kept the place. I half-expected it to turn into a dump within days," the visitor teased.
Yang Wei was at a loss for words. Was he really perceived as untidy?
Just then, Yang Xixi's sweet voice chimed in from behind. "Cousin, who is this?"
Yang Xixi eyed the stunning woman before her with a hint of envy. It was hard to believe someone could be many times more beautiful than a movie star.
Before Yang Wei could introduce his boss, Ye Hua beat him to it, her smile crafty.
"You must be Yang Wei's cousin, right?" she asked.
"Yes, that's me! I'm Yang Wei's cousin, Yang Xixi. And you are?" Xixi replied with a smile.
Ye Hua responded with a playful grin. "Why don't you guess who I am? If you guess correctly, I'll tell you."
After a moment's thought, Xixi exclaimed with a realization, "I know who you are! You're my cousin's girlfriend. My cousin is truly remarkable – handsome, wealthy, and he's found a gorgeous woman like you."
Ye Hua simply smiled, her cheeks flushing with a rosy tint.
After a brief pause, Ye Hua's smile returned. "I've heard you're job hunting, Xixi. Why not come work at the company where your cousin is employed?"
Xixi's face lit up with joy, only to be followed by a look of concern. "You mean at Quick Arriving Group? But would such a prestigious company really consider someone like me?"
Ye Hua laughed reassuringly. "Certainly, they would. Xixi, you're a graduate of a top university. Quick Arriving is at your fingertips, ready for the taking."
Hearing this, Xixi's smile blossomed once again, though she soon wore an expression of puzzlement.
"Sister-in-law, how did you know I graduated from a prestigious university?"
Upon hearing this, Yang Wei, who was nearby, was equally baffled.
How could she possibly know that Xixi was an alumna of a renowned institution?
Ye Hua, caught off guard by the question, quickly recovered with a smile and explained,
"Your cousin told me."
Yang Wei promptly stepped in to defuse any awkwardness.
"Absolutely, it was me who told her."
Yang Wei was aware that Ye Hua had someone look up Yang Xixi's background, but he trusted that Ye Hua's intentions were good and chose not to make a fuss.
"Oh, I see," he said, understanding the situation.
In fact, when Yang Wei and Ye Hua took time off to pick up his cousin, Ye Hua had already gathered information on her.
Ye Hua believed this young woman had potential and could be a valuable asset as a manager in her company.
Later that afternoon, Ye Hua gave Yang Wei the rest of the day off, and she went shopping with Yang Xixi.
Seeing the joy on Yang Xixi's face, Yang Wei didn't interfere, feeling confident in Ye Hua's care.
With nothing to do at home, Yang Wei's thoughts drifted, and before long, he found himself transported to the Cultivation World.
Upon arrival, with a mere thought, the Light Screen materialized before him.
Host's name: Yang Wei

Pulse Opening Seventh Order

Today's Mandatory Mission (Incomplete)
...
While Yang Wei was reviewing his panel of attributes, not far away, two foxes burrowed in the earth, preparing to sleep, sensed his presence and snapped to attention.
The Yellow Fox spoke with a hint of irritation,
"Where has this kid been? He vanished for a whole day."
"Stop grumbling and keep watch," the other advised.
And so, the pair of foxes resumed their surveillance, shadowing Yang Wei wherever he went.
...
As the sky above the jungle darkened once more, Yang Wei sat in a cave, warming his hands by a fire. With a focused thought, the Light Screen flickered to life again.
Host's name: Yang Wei
Level: 20 (2490/2700) Breakthrough Progress (0%/100%)
Pulse Opening Tenth Order
Martial Summoning
Attribute: Pure Yang Fire, Time Stopping
Forced Mission (Completed)
...
Thanks to the mysterious mark from the fox, Yang Wei didn't suffer any backlash from the power.
As Yang Wei tended to the fire, he glanced at the "Breakthrough Progress" and "Time Stopping" indicators on the panel and mumbled to himself.
"The Breakthrough Progress must be indicating that I've reached the bottleneck of the Pulse Opening Stage. Once this progress hits 100%, I should ascend to a higher realm."
"This Time Stopping must be a new attribute the system unlocked after reaching level 20. I'll understand the full extent of this new power in my next battle."
Outside the cave, on a nearby hillside, a yellow and a white fox were huddled together.
The Yellow Fox was eagerly devouring a fruit, seemingly plucked from nowhere.
Next to him, the White Fox looked on with a puzzled expression.
"This youngster's aura was merely at the sixth or seventh level of the Pulse Opening Stage not too long ago, yet now it appears he has reached the pinnacle of the Pulse Opening Stage."
