C2 Sea of Runes
Sitting on the giant rune train going home, Qin Chuan was looking out the window at the bustling city district that seemed to be moving past him very quickly, his eyes gradually revealed a hint of confusion.
He was at a loss, not because of the ties between him and Wang Wenxue were broken, but because he was unsure about how he would be able to raise his ability to the required level that would allow him gain entry into the university before the College Entrance Test.
Out of 24 hours everyday, besides the three hours he used for sleep, Qin Chuan had to work for 10 hours. He spent another 10 hours in training, and the rest of the time was for eating and a little break. This had been his life for the past two and a half years, but as much as he tried to compensate his lack of talent with hardwork, the outcome didn't become better.
However, Qin Chuan was determined. He was from the slums, and he knew that the only way to change his destiny was to become a cultivator. He could not give up, and he absolutely didn't intend to give up!
In the past, Qin Chuan had given most of his cultivation materials to Wang Wenxue. That left him with only a small portion for his own cultivation. Now that she no longer needed him to bring her cultivation materials, the materials that he could use every month now had more value than before.
Thinking about the cultivation resources, Qin Chuan couldn't help but reach into the shabby cloth bag hanging around his waist and took out a small, palm-sized bronze box that looked plain. He looked at the ancient bronze box in his hands, and felt somewhat lucky. That was because, it was a family treasure that he grew up with and he had almost lost it.
Qin Chuan originally wanted to repay Wang Wenxue's kindness by providing her with resources that would have improved her chances of entering one the top six schools. He had planned to sell the box in exchange for more cultivation resources for Wenxue. However, she had severed all ties with him, so he naturally didn't need to sell the box anymore.
"Old partner, I almost sold you today. After all these years I'm yet to open you up. What exactly are you hiding inside?"
All of a sudden, he seemed to have seen a flash of golden light flashing on the top of the box. He was slightly surprised but just when he was wondering if he was hallucinating, the giant rune train slowly came to a halt and there was an announcement that resounded in his ears. He had arrived at the station, and it was time to get off.
He took one last look at the seemingly unchanged bronze square box, and then put it back into his pocket. Then he got up and walked out of the giant rune train, and stepped onto the only train platform in the slum.
As he took in the unique stench of the slums, Qin Chuan's face revealed a slight glint of happiness. It wasn't because he enjoyed putting himself through suffering, rather it was just because he was used to the slums' stinky air. To put it bluntly, it gave him a homely feeling
Qin Chuan's home was near the platform. It was a simple two-storey building. The first floor was where he lived, and the second floor was where he trained.
It was already dinner time, but Qin Chuan wasn't in a hurry to eat. His normal routine was to go to the second floor to meditate and cultivate for two hours before having dinner.
The second floor was considered his training room, but in reality, it only had a tattered prayer mat and an old runic chandelier in it; it was extremely simple and crude. He casually took off the pouch around his waist and kept it on the side. As he was about to enter into a meditative state, the waist pouch placed on the side suddenly lit up with a hazy golden light. It looked like a small artificial sun that was put inside a bag; it was like flames from the sun.
Qin Chuan's eyes widened in stupefaction as he looked at the glowing bag. He was about to reach out for the bag to take a look when the worn-out bag suddenly disintegrated into fine dust, revealing the bronze square box inside.
It was the bronze square box that was emitting the blazing golden light!
The golden glow from the box expanded more and more, and it also became hotter and hotter. Until it gradually condensed into a golden door; the size that could fit a person, right in front of Qin Chuan. At this time, the box had transformed into the frame of the golden door.
Just when Qin Chuan was still in shock by the sudden change that was happening, the bronze door that was emitting a golden light suddenly burst out with a strong force of attraction, and Qin Chuan, who was still in shock, was sucked into the box
"Where am I?"
He saw himself floating in a cosmic scene with stars, and there was a huge mainland floating in front of him. He could clearly see that this mainland was made up of countless stone pillars, and each stone pillar was carved with a complex and profound rune, exuding a desolate and ancient aura.
Looking at the endless stone pillars of runes before him, Qin Chuan was shocked. He had lived for seventeen years, but that was the first time he saw such a grand scene.
Suddenly, all the towering stone pillars on the mainland shattered. Countless runes fell from the stone pillars, and crashed all over the mainland. The powerful energy contained within them exploded like a ferocious beast that escaped from its cage. It was so powerful that it could wash the heavens and the earth away, shattering the entire continent!
Just as the runes were about to be completely destroyed, a small bronze box suddenly appeared among the ruins that were already made on the mainland. The bronze box instantly turned into a huge bronze door, facing the entire mainland, and exploded with a strong force of attraction and sucked in all the runes that were floating in the starry sky into the door, it didn't leave Qin Chuan behind.
BOOM!
After an unknown amount of time, a thunderous sound resounded in Qin Chuan's ears and shook him up from his unconsciousness. His body was floating on the sea like a log of wood, drifting with the current. When Qin Chuan woke up and realized he was floating on a huge ocean, he was completely shocked.
It was an endless sea of countless golden runes!
Just at that moment, it was as if a star exploded in Qin Chuan's mind. A series of information flooded into his brain wave after wave, and it continued that way. Qin Chuan fainted on the spot due to the impact from the massive amount of information.
At this moment, the ocean of runes flowing under Qin Chuan's body flowed into his body like a stream. It was as if the best nourishing fluid in the world was revitalizing Qin Chuan's limbs and bones.
