C1 Two Great Level Sss Talents Three Great Divine Level Talents!
September 1, 2323. Global Career Awakening Day.
Southvale, Noswua. Fete Class School—one of the top advanced vocational academies in the country.
On the campus plaza, groups of fresh-faced students, guided by their mentors, waited with anticipation for their awakening ceremony to begin.
At the same time, beneath the towering God's Tablet, the latest career assignments for the students echoed out.
"Ye Hei, career assignment complete. Life occupation—Coffin Lifter!"
"Hsiao Huohuo, career assignment complete. Life occupation—Pharmacist!"
"Bai Dachun, career assignment complete. Life occupation—Chef!"
"Shi Hao, career assignment complete. Life occupation—Dairy Purification Specialist!"
The announcements came from the transfer stele, sounding like a flat, emotionless electronic voice.
Every single assignment so far had been a life occupation. Watching this, Dean Soong Yuan, who was responsible for recording the students' assignments, couldn't help but furrow his brow. He glanced down at the student roster. Nearly a tenth of the students had already awakened, yet not a single combat or supplementary occupation had appeared!
This hardly lived up to the reputation of one of Noswua’s top advanced academies.
But in the next moment, Soong Yuan’s eyes lit up. His gaze shifted from the roster to a student at the very front of the line.
This student stood tall—almost six-foot-three—with striking features and a presence that could only be described as jaw-droppingly handsome.
Soong Yuan waved him over with a smile. “Shen Lang, it’s your turn! Come on, get ready!”
As soon as Shen Lang’s name was called, the room fell silent. Every eye turned to the student making his way toward the Transfer Stele.
At Fete Class School, everyone knew Shen Lang.
He grew up in the orphanage in the poorest part of town, but aced the transfer theory exam and took first place in the combat assessment to get into Fete. For three years running, he’s held the top spot—no one’s even come close.
On top of that, Shen Lang’s got movie-star looks, making him a favorite among both students and teachers—and the target of plenty of envy, especially from the guys.
Soong Yuan watched the young man hopefully, thinking, Surely this time he won’t end up with another support occupation, right? If a student like Shen Lang can’t awaken a combat or supplementary occupation, then something’s seriously wrong!
“Shen Lang, are you ready? If you are, let’s begin,” Soong Yuan said kindly.
Shen Lang gave Soong Yuan a polite nod, then turned to face the Transfer Stele, covered in mysterious runes. Standing so close, he muttered under his breath, “As a guy who’s traveled from another world, is it too much to ask to become a mage lord?”
That’s right—Shen Lang was a traveler from another world, who’d arrived here three years ago without warning.
Based on his understanding of this world’s history, it seemed he had arrived in Blue Star three hundred years after he left his own time.
Three centuries ago, it was the age of technology—almost identical to the world he knew. But now, three hundred years later, everything had changed. This was the era of class awakenings.
It all started with a global catastrophe three centuries back. Savage beasts of all kinds began appearing everywhere, along with mysterious dungeons and secret realms. Humanity was pushed to the brink of extinction—nuclear weapons couldn’t even wipe out the threat. People nearly vanished from Blue Star.
Just when things seemed hopeless, mysterious monuments called God’s Tablets descended from the stars. With their help, people could awaken to a new class at the age of eighteen, gaining an attribute panel unique to their profession. By hunting savage beasts and exploring dungeons, they could earn experience, level up, and collect gear—unlocking extraordinary powers.
For Shen Lang, who came from three centuries in the past, this was easy to grasp. Wasn’t this just like those online game novels where the game world merges with reality?
Back then, those stories had helped him get through many lonely nights.
Unfortunately, nobody writes those kinds of novels anymore. Now, everyone’s focused on awakening their class.
Of course, not everyone gets a powerful class. Most people end up with ordinary life professions, and only a rare few awaken to combat or supplementary occupations. These exceptional classes are the backbone of every nation’s fight against the savage beasts.
Among all the combat classes, Mage is one of the most popular choices. With high burst damage, plenty of area-of-effect skills, and long-range attacks, Mages are always at the top of the power rankings. That’s why so many players jokingly call them “Mage Lords.”
Of course, Mages do have a weakness—their defense isn’t great. But honestly, that’s not a big deal. Once you unlock the Mage class, whether you’re teaming up, joining a guild, or signing on with an official faction, you’ll always have tanks, guardians, and healers by your side. Safety is the least of your worries.
So, it’s no surprise that Shen Lang isn’t the only one dreaming of becoming a Mage Lord—pretty much everyone wants to be one! And if you can’t be a Mage Lord, well, a Dragon Knight wouldn’t be too bad either, right?
With that mischievous thought, Shen Lang took a deep breath. Under everyone’s watchful eyes, he reached out and placed his hand on the transfer stele.
As his palm touched the stone, millions of runes lit up, twinkling like stars in the night sky. After a moment, one of the runes fell from the stele and slowly merged into his forehead.
At the same time, a cold, mechanical voice echoed from the transfer stele, announcing Shen Lang’s class change to everyone.
“Shen Lang, class transfer complete. Hidden class—Beastmaster!”
As soon as the announcement echoed across the plaza, the place erupted in a wave of chatter and excitement.
“Oh my gosh, a hidden occupation! Shen Lang actually awakened a hidden occupation—no wonder he’s the top student at our academy!”
“Hidden occupations always come with guaranteed talents, right?”
“Ugh, as if being good-looking wasn’t enough, now he gets a hidden occupation too?”
“Hidden occupations are pretty awesome. There are only a handful worldwide each year. But—haha—Shen Lang’s occupation is Beastmaster! Beastmaster!”
“Wait, I didn’t notice at first. Beastmaster? Isn’t that a total money pit?”
“Seriously, it eats up cash like crazy! Shen Lang’s an orphan and has been living off scholarships for years. He probably can’t even afford the lowest-level beast!”
“And what good is a low-level beast? Don’t forget, Beastmasters have to split experience points with their beasts when fighting monsters! If his beast is weak, Shen Lang’s leveling up will be painfully slow. Sigh, guess that’s just how life goes. Even a hidden occupation is wasted on him—he’s basically done for.”
At first, the students in the plaza were stunned by Shen Lang awakening the Beastmaster hidden occupation. But that shock quickly turned into mockery and pity.
Shen Lang didn’t have time to worry about any of that. Right now, his blood was pounding in his ears as a series of messages echoed in his mind.
