C99 I Will Be Your Harbor From The Wind
In the study room.
“Master, I find it a bit strange.” Little Purple suddenly transmitted.
“Hmm? What’s so strange?”
Zhan Tianming turned to look at Little Purple.
Right then, Little Purple raised its head to look at Zhan Tianming, and after a pause, it started again, “Based on what I could smell, in this study, other than the regular auras, four powerful auras stand out. One of them belongs to Housekeeper Luo, the other one to the Prince, and the other two are still a mystery.”
“Moreover…”
Saying until there, Little Purple took that moment to hesitate and did not say anymore.
“And what else?” Zhan Tianming was growing impatient. It was important he got to the bottom of things.
This time Little Purple didn’t sound too sure of itself, and said in a rather halting manner, “Moreover, these two auras seem to come from the same person, but at the same time I can clearly feel that they are two different auras.”
“What?”
The information left Zhan Tianming a little dumbfounded.
Two different auras, yet they seemed to belong to the same person?
How could such a thing happen?
“Wait…”
Suddenly, a lightbulb goes off over Zhan Tianming’s head.
Why do the things back on Earth still apply here?
This was an entirely different world!
Anything could happen here at any moment in time.
If you look a little closer, a caterpillar could grow to two meters long. A big yellow dog could be as powerful and strong as a tiger, a spider as big as a millstone, and an earthworm as terrifying as a python...
The possibilities were endless.
Zhan Tianming turned over the idea in his mind, finally asking, “Bajie, do you think the culprit is someone who has the ability to split his body in half?”
“Do you mean Body Separation Technique?” Little Purple blinked its eyes.
Its face had a curious expression as if it was wondering what in the world was going on.
Zhan Tianming explained in more specific detail, “It’s a secret method that once cultivated can allow one person to be split into two.”
Although he said that, Zhan Tianming wasn’t really sure if such a secret technique really existed. However, he thought it would give him some clues and help him find the killer if he talked this over with Little Purple.
Little Purple shook its head as it thought it over.
“Master, I don’t really know either, but the technique you’re talking about is totally possible.”
“But…”
“Although the two auras are the exact same, they differed in strength. One of the auras was twice as strong as the aura of the Prince, while the other aura was double the strength of the other aura. To be clear, there were at least four times the difference."
Little Purple gave Zhan Tianming the information she got from just using her sense of smell.
In regards to the result, Little Purple let Zhan Tianming come to his own conclusion.
Zhan Tianming nodded his head.
“The difference in strength is not an unlikely experience.”
“After all, from the information I was able to gather from the novels I read, the main body was always stronger and the clone weaker. Yes, you heard me right. In this case, the chances would be higher.”
Little Purple stared back at Zhan Tianming, clearly confused.
“Master, what is this nonsense you are saying?”
“Ugh… It’s nothing.”
Zhan Tianming did not bother to offer any further explanation and then led Little Purple out of the study.
Instantly, everyone’s gazes swept over in their direction.
Zongzheng Wanyou also turned her attention anxiously to Zhan Tianming, her teeth biting down on her red lips.
She said nothing as she looked on.
She only continued to turn her gaze to Zhan Tianming.
Zhan Tianming didn’t need her to say a word as he knew the anticipation that must lie in her heart.
After a moment of long silence, Zhan Tianming said, “After the inspection just now, my investigation brought me to this conclusion. The person behind your father’s murder knew some kind of cloning technique. Moreover, after he cloned his body, the power of the clone only equates to about a quarter of that of the main body.”
“Also…”
Zhan Tianming took that moment to pause.
Actually, these words shouldn’t be spoken in a roomful of people. It would be best if only a few insiders knew.
This way, they would be able to track down the murderer with little to no difficulty.
But, after giving it some thought, Zhan Tianming decided to go the opposite way in a more extreme fashion in order to fish out the culprit.
Speak! Spill it all out.
“Also, the killer must possess twice the strength of your father.”
Then, suddenly!
Zongzheng Wanyou’s facial expression visibly stiffened.
He must be twice the strength of her father, and he must be knowledgeable in the art of creating clones.
Who could this be?
Zongzheng Wanyou shook her head. She was equally mystified.
She had no clue.
Even with this tiny clue, she could offer no help at all.
She couldn’t help but produce a sad expression.
As for the others, they alternated from looking at Zhan Tianming and the Little Purple pig beside Zhan Tianming with a puzzled expression.
They completely could not wrap their minds around how Zhan Tianming could come across this piece of information.
Zhan Tianming offered no further explanation. He only gave Zongzheng Wanyou a look from his pained heart, as he walked up two steps, raised his hand and gently patted Zongzheng Wanyou’s shoulder, then solemnly said, “Don’t worry, no matter what, I will do everything I can to help you find the person responsible for your father’s murder. Consider it as an apology from me.”
Men had to own up their responsibilities, especially when a woman showed such helplessness.
Zhan Tianming had always been a person who went out of his way to help the fairer sex.
He could not wordlessly watch the woman he loved suffer, nor could he silently watch on as others placed harm on the woman he loved.
Whoever dared to block his way, he would destroy!
They would feel the full wrath of his mercilessness!
Zongzheng Wanyou’s soft sobs could be heard as she talked to Zhan Tianming.
Her shoulders shook as she silently cried.
Even someone who was notorious for her temper, in the end, turned out to be just a little girl.
Just a sad little woman.
Zhan Tianming had no idea what kind of bullshit intention County Prince’s competition was, and whether or not the marriage between Zongzheng Wanyou and Zhang Bao would go through or not, but as he looked at the delicate and touching girl before him, an overwhelming urge to protect her surged up from the bottom of his heart.
Without putting much thought into it, Zhan Tianming opened his arms and pulled Zongzheng Wanyou into his embrace.
He let her cry on his shoulder.
Sob.
If she continues to cry, maybe the tears will run out and she won’t feel so sad.
Zhan Tianming silently held her.
His shoulder at this time was Zongzheng Wanyou’s safe place.
No matter how strong the wind or waves were, no matter the strength of the other’s attack, nothing would be able to harm this boat that was already covered from head to toe in wounds.
“Wuu… wuu.. Sob, sob…”
Zongzheng Wanyou, who had previously always held in her tears, once again broke out in sobs after finding a safe harbor where she could hide from the powerful gales.
These tears rolled down her face like pearls spilling from a broken string, unable to stop the torrents that left her.
The tears quickly soaked through the cloth on Zhan Tianming’s shoulders.
Her jade hands also fiercely grasped at Zhan Tianming’s clothes.
The sound of crying echoed in his ears, reverberating with a mournful power.
Zhan Tianming stood there motionlessly.
He stood there rooted to the spot like a stone pillar that supported the heavens and allowed Zongzheng Wanyou, who was lying in his embrace, to properly have a good cry.
Beside him.
Lu Mingyan, Feng Lejiang, and the rest were looking at this scene before them with entirely different thoughts going through their minds.
Feng Wushuang also stared at Zhan Tianming.
Actually, in her heart, she had always suspected that Zongzheng Wanyou and Zhan Tianming had known each other long before it had come to her understanding. Although this did not please her, she decided to keep quiet about this.
She knew that Zongzheng Wanyou really needed someone to be there for her and that person just happened to be Zhan Tianming.
After a good amount of time, Lu Mingyan and the rest pretended to busy themselves for a while, then after finding it useless, they turned and left.
In no time at all, the news of that day’s events spread to the various counties.
A bloody battle was inevitable.
