C17 Chapter 17
I must admit, I'm a bit embarrassed, Director Liu. How can I say this? My son has let me down. I never imagined he would end up chasing stars all the way to your building. Nevertheless, I'm hoping you might extend a little grace. My son, at heart, is truly kind, and it was after seeing Liu Shihan's compassion—her support for lonely children and the elderly—that he became a genuine fan of hers.
I believe Liu Shihan has solid values. I've heard she recently joined a company called the Flying Bird Company, if I'm not mistaken? It used to be Sroz Media. Regardless, someone with such integrity deserves our support.
Oh, I couldn't possibly claim the title of Director Liu in your esteemed presence, Director Liu Dahai. Please, just call me Minghui, my newly chosen name. You know, I find the concepts of brightness and radiance quite appealing, hence the change to Liu Guanghui. I'd prefer if you called me Mr. Liu. That's all I ask, no need for formalities.
But rest assured, Mr. Liu, I will take care of the task you've entrusted to me. The sixty-fifth floor of Hemipeel Tower is currently unoccupied, perfect for Liu Shihan's use. I'll discuss the pricing with the boss and ensure she gets a discount. After all, we all share the Liu surname, and supposedly, we were one family five hundred years ago, so a discount is in order.
I'm truly grateful, and I don't mean to impose... But speaking of which, isn't that Liu Feng, the rascal? What's he doing here? Could he have known I was coming? No, he's probably here to follow the stars. Judging by his entourage, they're all his usual crowd. It looks like Liu Shihan must be here. My foolish son, he shadows her everywhere, neglecting to learn how to manage our company in favor of these star-chasing escapades. Thankfully, the star he's chosen to follow is a decent one, or else I'd have long since put an end to his gallivanting!
As the sound of footsteps approached, a line of luxury cars pulled up at the building's entrance, and several individuals stepped out.
Accompanied by the sound of footsteps, several luxury cars pulled up in front of the grand building. From these vehicles, a group of people emerged. Leading them was an exceptionally large man, tipping the scales at over 300 pounds. In stark contrast, the individual by his side was remarkably thin, even more so than the average man, likely weighing no more than 70 to 80 pounds. Standing next to the hefty man, his tall frame only amplified the visual impact, drawing the gaze of onlookers and highlighting the contrast between them.
As the group made their way from the parking lot, they conversed among themselves, flanked by a formidable entourage of eight bodyguards. Their presence alone justified the fleet of luxury cars. Each bodyguard exuded an air of authority, with noticeable bulges at their waists that suggested the presence of concealed firearms.
The two men, one fat and one thin, continued their dialogue, while the bodyguards, dressed in sharp suits and ties and donning sunglasses, maintained a professional silence, as if they were mute, adding to the group's imposing demeanor.
Their entrance commanded the attention of everyone in the vicinity, casting a hush over the surrounding area. Liu Feng, who had been eager to intimidate Xiao Nan and was on the verge of confrontation, suddenly found his bluster deflated by the arrival of this new party. As the conversation between the fat and thin men persisted, Liu Feng retreated behind his peers, his previous bravado evaporating.
Though he occasionally cast fearful glances at Xiao Nan, even sneering at him, it was clear that Liu Feng had lost all desire to speak. The continued exchange between the two men, coupled with the bodyguards' commanding presence, made it immediately apparent to the onlookers why Liu Feng had been so bold: he had encountered the one person who could rein him in—his father, Liu Dahai, also known as Fatty Liu.
Everyone had been incessantly talking about Fatty Liu because of his formidable nature and his significant status. That's why his name was on everyone's lips!
Now, Liu Dahai himself stood before them, and upon overhearing the conversation between the two men, there was no doubt in anyone's mind—they were right on the money!
Moreover, they were in luck. The hefty man among them was none other than Fatty Liu, a figure whose reputation preceded him, yet few had actually laid eyes on him.
The other man had announced a name change to Liu Minghui, a name inspired by the concepts of brightness and radiance. Putting all the pieces together, it was clear to everyone that he was indeed a manager at Hemipeel Tower!
He even had the authority to lower the rent for Liu Shihan's office on the sixty-fifth floor. This reminded people of the Director Liu that Shihan had mentioned, as well as the Director Liu referred to by Liu Feng!
It was evident to all that Liu Feng's influential supporter had arrived.
Yet, judging by Liu Dahai's tone, it was apparent that he considered Liu Feng to be an ignorant and uneducated individual. If Liu Feng hadn't been pursuing the celebrity Liu Shihan, Dahai would have likely taken him to task.
