C20 Tumor Operation

I was scared out of my wits and my stomach didn't hurt anymore, so I pulled up my pants and got ready to go back to bed.

Because I couldn't see, I had to hold on carefully to the wall every step of the way. The wall was damp and sticky, not like water. There was a faint fishy smell on the tip of the nose.

I was both frightened and disgusted, and kept comforting myself that this was the result of the hotel's poor sanitary conditions. I hastened my steps, only to find that I had slipped and lost my footing because I was in too much of a hurry.

Grandfather just happened to push open the door and was startled by the scene in front of him. He hurriedly put down his packing case and helped me up. He said with a pained heart, "Child, didn't you tell me to lie on the bed? Why are you running around?"

"I …" "My stomach hurts." How could an eight-year-old child like me be able to control three people so easily?

It's not just my eyes.

Pappy sighed and led me to the edge of the bed. It wasn't long before I could smell the scent of small wontons in the air.

"Grandfather, did you buy me a small wonton?" After running for a whole day, I finally had a bit of appetite. However, as soon as I finished speaking, my grandfather grabbed my hand.

"How did you do it?"

I asked puzzledly, "Grandfather, what did you say?"

Did I accidentally dirty my hand when I fell? But if it really was like this, why didn't he wash his hands? Why did his grandpa sound so nervous?

"Did he fall just now? Why is his hand covered in blood?" Grandpa grabbed my hand in front of his face and carefully examined it, "Does it hurt? Is there anything else? "

"It doesn't hurt." I shook my head. It wasn't that I was particularly sensible, but that I really didn't feel any pain at all. If it wasn't for Grandfather talking about me, I wouldn't have known that my hand was broken.

Pappy checked for a while but still couldn't find the wound, so he pulled me to the bathroom to wash my hands. By the time I came out, the wontons were already cold, but that didn't stop my stomach from singing the empty plan.

After dinner, Grandpa helped me wash up, just like when I was a kid, the calluses on his palms made me feel especially safe.

Maybe because I was so tired from the day, I fell asleep in a few minutes.

I woke up once in the middle of the night, the toilet faucet was still dripping with water. I mumbled, "Grandpa, you didn't turn the faucet on well," and fell asleep again.

The next day was a sunny day. Grandfather and I arrived early at the hospital, and the report of yesterday's checkup was released early. After taking the report, we directly went to Dr. Huang.

When we entered, Dr. Huang was standing by the window drinking water. When he saw us, he put down the cup of water and asked Grandpa for the report.

I sat tensely on the stool, hands on my knees, waiting for the results.

Doctor Huang read the report and took a sip of tea, then said, "There's a tumor growing on your brain that's compressing your nerves. Blindness is a minor problem, cancer is a major problem. If you don't operate soon, you're in danger of getting sick."

"Clang!" I was so scared that I fell off my chair, but I didn't feel any pain. I just felt my heart tighten and my breathing became rapid.

His grandfather also had a look of disbelief on his face as he begged Doctor Huang to read the report again.

"My body has been very good since I was young. Even my head is aching and my head is burning. How can there be a tumor growing on my head that is perfectly fine?" Grandfather's tone was urgent, "Doctor, take a look at what the report says, could it be that you've seen wrongly?"

After all, he's a doctor, he's used to life and death situations. Doctor Huang didn't take my life to heart at all, and even expressed his naked dissatisfaction with my grandfather's reminder.

"Uncle, are you a doctor or am I a doctor?" She adjusted her glasses, "I've been a doctor for over twenty years, how could I make a mistake? "If I can even make a mistake like that, you can sue me when you go out!"

Grandfather hurriedly said, "That's not what I meant. It's just that my child's body has always been in good health. How can I accept a sudden illness like this?"

Dr. Huang took the medical record and began writing again. Soon, a full page was filled up.

"Look, here's the list. Take it to the hospital to pay the fees." With that, he passed a stack of things to his grandfather. His attitude was extremely impatient.

I didn't say a word during the whole process. I didn't know what else to say, and it was as if my throat had been strangled. I couldn't make a sound.

I followed my grandfather out of Dr. Huang's office in a daze, my calves still trembling as I walked down the hallway of the bleak autumn hospital.

Grandfather brought me back to the hotel to pack my luggage. However, just as I reached the entrance of the hotel, I heard a hoarse and aged voice calling out to me.

"Victory!"

Grandfather's surname was Gou De Sheng, so that person called out his grandfather's name.

Sure enough, his grandfather stopped after hearing that sound. After a long while, he asked in disbelief, "Senior Brother, why is it you?"

The person that his grandfather called Senior Brother laughed and asked, "Why can't it be me?"

His grandfather, who was already covered in ravines, frowned even more, as if he didn't know what to say. The old man laughed even more as if no one else was around. He teased, "Did people say that I died in a great fire more than ten years ago? Do you think you've seen a ghost?"

His grandfather coldly snorted, as if he had thought of something bad, and his voice inexplicably went cold. "Senior Brother, I still have important matters to attend to today, so I won't reminisce with you here." She pulled me up and was about to leave.

He had barely taken two steps when the old man suddenly called out to us, "Deheng, Deheng, why are you still the same as when you were young? You can't keep calm." As he spoke, he walked towards me and my grandpa, squatting down in front of me as if he was squatting down. "This child is really good-looking, but it's a pity that he's blind."

He gave a long, touching sigh and reached out to pinch my face.

Instinctively, I stepped back and turned my face away. Although I am indeed blind, but this old man said it in front of me, how can I let him have a good look?

His grandfather was also unhappy with his words and coldly said, "Senior Brother, if there's nothing else, we'll be leaving first."

"Is the hospital a good place?" "What's the point of rushing over there?" The old man followed him again, sighing in a pretentious manner.

I didn't understand what he meant by those words. I only felt that he was extremely mysterious and annoying. However, my grandfather suddenly turned around and said with a firm attitude, "Senior Brother, please say what you just said again."

The old man chuckled and did as he was told. However, this time, his grandfather excitedly took two steps forward and asked, "I've never told anyone that I've been to the hospital these past two days. How did you know?"
