C29 The Club Was Shaking

In the very next moment,

"Heh, no escape for him, huh? If this little punk has the nerve to insult me, the Mountain Man, I can't just let it slide!"

This exchange between the man and the creature was overheard by the members of Divine Wind, sending shivers down their spines.

Good Lord!

The boss was talking, and what a response! Such intelligence!

It defied all logic!

Divine Wind World's face was a mask of terror; he realized the enormity of the trouble he was in.

A regular Foundation Stage Boss was nothing compared to one with the ability to think and talk—a gap as wide as heaven and earth!

Flee!

He had to flee!

Otherwise, the loss would be too great for him to bear!

"Everyone, hold off the Celestial Stone Mountain Man for at least three minutes, or you can kiss your annual salary goodbye!"

Divine Wind World bellowed at the Assassination Team, then he skillfully maneuvered past the Celestial Stone Mountain Man.

But the Assassination Team was hardly up to the task.

A horde of countless creatures was already blocking the path, not to mention Wang Yipao, who was causing mischief among them.

Barely able to protect themselves, how could they possibly stop a Foundation Stage Boss like the Celestial Stone Mountain Man?

They might get flattened with a single slap if they even tried.

"Get me out of here!"

In that instant, the captain of the Assassination Team steeled his resolve and signaled to one of his assassins.

The man nodded, and the captain was catapulted forward.

But a second later,

he was reduced to pulp by a backhand slap from the Celestial Stone Mountain Man.

An assassin could only delay the Mountain Man for a mere two seconds.

The others could only offer wry smiles in response.

"I'm next!"

These assassins were resolute, knowing full well that death was inevitable. So, they resolved to buy Divine Wind World as much time as possible.

Three minutes might be out of reach, but perhaps one minute was doable.

Yet, as one prepared to make his move,

Wang Yipao stepped forward, exclaiming, "Ada!"

The man was instantly kicked back into the fray.

He was devoured by the stone creatures within moments.

"Think you can delay the Mountain Man? Seems you've forgotten the name of the Sword Immortal I once held among you!" Wang Yipao stood before them, his gaze icy as he cast a barrier of demonic light.

From the moment they began their pursuit, Divine Wind became his enemy.

The Assassination Team wasn't under the control of Divine Wind Word.

Only a member of the board could wield influence over the Assassination Team.

Clearly, Divine Wind's board was also against him.

From this point on, any chance of a friendly relationship with Wang Yipao was out of the question.

"What a farce, what a tragedy, what a shame!"

His Immortal Sword, glowing with demonic light, cut off their escape route.

"Sword Immortal, I once held you in high regard, but why betray Divine Wind?"

Someone's voice broke with sorrow, nearly moved to tears at the mention of Wang Yipao's former title.

Yet, he was covertly on his way to confront Celestial Stone Mountain Man.

"Unbelievable! Have you no dignity? Are you clueless about who the Assassination Team really is? Now you want to talk sentiment with me? Where was this when you kept infiltrating the Stone Cave? Talking about my betrayal of Divine Wind? Bullshit, I was blatantly forced out by your Divine Wind, without even a severance pay, and you dare accuse me of betrayal?!" With a single stroke of his sword, Wang Yipao sent his opponent reeling.

Another assassin stepped forward, pleading, "Sword Immortal, sir, why persist in this conflict? Divine Wind isn't your sworn enemy. If you spare our leader just this once, Divine Wind is ready to bury the hatchet and collaborate with you to forge a new future."

Wang Yipao, foregoing his sword, simply raised his hand and struck the man's eyes.

"Ah! My eyes!"

"So you realize there's a problem with your eyes? Use your brain, will you? Do you have any idea how many clubs are vying for me? Why would I bother with Divine Wind's paltry pay? I'm an alchemist, for heaven's sake! Highly sought after, if you hadn't noticed. Have you all been brainwashed by Divine Wind? It's clear your intelligence has taken a hit."

The assassins were filled with silent grievances.

This man was impervious to both reason and force.

"Everyone, let's go! We must do whatever it takes to buy Captain Wang some time!"

The assassins were acutely aware that this was their final chance. If Wang Yipao thwarted them once more, they would stand no chance against the Celestial Stone Mountain Man.

Should that occur, the prospects for Divine Wind Word looked grim.

They might wish for Divine Wind Word to be demoted, but that was merely wishful thinking.

Should the situation actually unfold, it would send shockwaves through the club, and they would not be spared from the fallout.

Losing a year's salary would be the least of their worries.

Their greater fear was being outright dismissed by Divine Wind Word, losing every last penny of their substantial earnings.

The stakes were high; they simply couldn't afford to let it happen!

The assassins braced themselves for one final stand.

But just then, Wang Yipao vanished, no longer obstructing their path.

The shadow pursued its prey!

Indeed, he had shifted his focus from them to Divine Wind Word.

"What!"

Divine Wind Word was caught off guard.

Suddenly cornered, Divine Wind Word found himself squarely in the Celestial Stone Mountain Man's line of fire.

What did this signify?

Wang Yipao had made a strategic withdrawal.

Despite Divine Wind Word landing several blows and draining his HP, Wang Yipao clung to life, thanks to a small healing pill.

Divine Wind Word, on the other hand, had missed the prime chance to flee.

"Later!"

Wang Yipao taunted with a wave before casually exiting the fray.

Divine Wind Word, however, was ensnared by the Celestial Stone Mountain Man.

What followed was inevitable:

Overpowering,

Bloodshed,

Death,

Demotion,

The Foundation Stage—obliterated!

Upon his demise, Divine Wind Word found himself ejected from the game, utterly stunned.

"This is it."

He cradled his head in agony, recognizing the gravity of the situation.

The club's retribution would be swift and severe.

Meanwhile, back in the game, the Celestial Stone Mountain Man seemed quite pleased with his victory over Divine Wind Word. Although the battle had been time-consuming, it proved that these foreign Foundation Stage players were not as formidable as he had anticipated.

"Jian Yipao, collaborating with you has been a pleasure. Should another opportunity arise, feel free to seek me out," the Celestial Stone Mountain Man said to Wang Yipao with fervor.

Ding! You've earned the friendship of the Celestial Stone Mountain Man. As long as you refrain from attacking any creatures in the Stone Cave, none of them will lay a finger on you!

"Wow, that actually works?!"

Wang Yipao's eyes bulged with surprise before he burst into laughter.

To him, this was like gaining an extra life-saving charm.

Yet, Wang Yipao was oblivious to something.

At that very moment, the Divine Wind Club, along with other clubs, were utterly astounded by this development.

"Wang Yipao has got to be hacking!"

Right now, the only move for Divine Wind Word was to blow this up into a big deal. That way, there might be a slim chance to dodge the wrath of Divine Wind.

So, he spilled the beans about everything that had happened to him!

The tremors felt by the club weren't confined to just one club anymore.

Clubs that were at odds with Jian Yipao felt compelled to step forward, demanding an official explanation.

How on earth could Jian Yipao manipulate these spirits? He could even control a boss at the Foundation Stage!
