C2 A Bizarre Car Accident

Upon hearing those words and witnessing her actions, the members of the Duilius Family stood petrified in shock. Could her words possibly mean that she won't enter the Ancestral Shrine if Rohan isn't allowed to enter?

"Bedelia, are you going to betray the Duilius Family because of an outsider?" Allan questioned with an ashen look. He certainly never expected Bedelia to utter such brazen words for Rohan's sake. One had to know, the Ancestral Worship Ceremony existed as one of the most important activities in the Duilius Family. Every time the ceremony took place, every single member of the Duilius Family would have to be present. This was an iron-clad rule!

Thus, the descendants of the Duilius Family who refused to worship their ancestors during this ceremony would be seen as unfilial!

If Bedelia refused to enter the Ancestral Shrine today, with the patriarch Derrick Duilius's temper, he would most likely expel Bedelia from the Duilius Family!

It would an understatement to describe the nature of this matter as being serious.

"Biddy, you should go in. Your cousin is right. This is the ancestor of your Duilius Family. I, who hold the surname, Chen, certainly do not have the qualifications to enter the shrine," Rohan stated as he held onto Bedelia by her shoulders.

Rohan knew very well that either one of Bedelia and Allan had to back down from this matter. Otherwise, both of them would have to face severe punishments.

But without a doubt, Bedelia would receive a much heavier punishment. Rohan naturally did not want to see Bedelia being expelled from the Duilius Family because of him. At this moment, he could only step forth and admit his defeat.

No matter how much humiliation he had to suffer.... No matter how much he would be looked down upon.... Rohan was willing to do whatever he could to protect Bedelia.

When he arrived at the hospital, Rohan found that Bedelia was sitting on a bench crying silently.

On the other hand, Olivia was walking back and forth in front of the emergency room.

"Biddy, what's going on?" Rohan asked anxiously as he trotted up to Bedelia.

Before Bedelia could say anything, Olivia walked over and slapped Rohan's face with her palm.

"You still dare to ask what's going on?!" Olivia shouted as her face rose with anger. "You useless brat, where did you go this afternoon? Why did you not pick Birch up from work today?"

Rohan stood petrified in shock. Normally, he would be the one to drive Birch home after work. The reason is that Birch had once injured his leg and could not drive properly ever since.

Even after Birch paid his repsects to ancestors at the Duilius Family Ancestral Shrine, he did not give Rohan a call.

Thinking that Birch would not be coming back today, Rohan completely forgot about picking him up.

"Mom, I'm sorry," Rohan said apologetically. Although the accident did not happen because of him, he nonetheless should have paid closer attention to Birch.

"Will apologizing now help anyone? You worthless brat! You married into my Duilius Family for three years, yet you have accomplished absolutely nothing!" Olivia said hysterically as her mood crumbled. "If anything serious happens to Birch, you better divorce my daughter and get the hell out of my Duilius Family!"

Olivia's voice echoed through the halls and attracted the attention of many people.

But at this moment, Rohan could not care about losing face. Birch was not only his father-in-law, but also his savior. Rohan would definitely not let anything happen to him.

"Who is the patient's family member?" A doctor suddenly walked over and asked.

"I am, I am." Olivia and Bedelia hurriedly went up to greet him.

"The patient is currently suffering from massive internal bleeding. The condition is very serious and requires immediate surgery." The middle-aged doctor said with a solemn tone.

"Alright, sign your name first. After doing so, pay the surgery fee over at the payment office." As the middle-aged doctor spoke, he took out an agreement. Rohan then signed his name on it.

Glancing through the surgery fees, however, Rohan's pupils contracted in shock.

This was a huge amount!

What kind of surgery required five million dollars to perform?!

At that moment, Rohan felt that something was amiss. With Birch's current financial situation, not to mention five million dollars, even five hundred thousand dollars would be a strain on him.

Could they have made a mistake in their calculation for the surgery fee? Rohan arrived at the payment office and hoped for that possibility.

But after asking at the payment office, the staff confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the surgery fee.
