C22 Yuv Qianer
"Old Third, Old Third, hey, wake up, Old Third," Lee Shanfeng called out to Fei Liang in one of the dorm rooms at Heavenly Sea University's BS campus.
"Heh!" Fei Liang's eyes snapped open, startling Lee Shanfeng, who stumbled backward a few steps.
The fleeting murderous glint in Fei Liang's eyes vanished. "What's up, Old Zhang?"
"Nothing," Lee Shanfeng said, shaking his head. Looking again at Fei Liang, the earlier menace was gone, replaced by mere weariness.
"Could I have been mistaken?" Lee Shanfeng wondered to himself.
"Meier, what's with Old Zhang?" Fei Liang, unconvinced that all was well, inquired mentally.
"Mr. Fei, the murderous aura in your eyes frightened Lee Shanfeng," Meier explained.
"Murderous aura?" Fei Liang was confused.
"Mr. Fei, after slaying so many zombies on Apocalyptic Civilization's Second Planet and battling robots on the Eleventh, did you really think such a potent aura would just fade away?" Meier chided.
"That makes sense," Fei Liang acknowledged with a nod.
"Mr. Fei, you might want to steer clear of Apocalyptic Civilization from now on," Meier suddenly suggested.
"Why?"
"Entering the Spirit Bead Space World with your consciousness is akin to dreaming, and experiences from Apocalyptic Civilization are like living through nightmares. Too many nightmares can be harmful to your health," Meier counseled.
"Understood," Fei Liang nodded, then turned to Lee Shanfeng. "What did you need, Old Zhang?"
"What's the matter? Don't you realize you've been asleep for eleven hours? It's time for class," Lee Shanfeng said, his irritation evident upon being brought back to reality by Fei Liang's question.
"Eleven hours?" Fei Liang exclaimed, grabbing his phone to check. It was indeed as Lee Shanfeng had said.
"Meier? What's happening? Does time in the Spirit Bead Space not sync with Earth's?" Fei Liang puzzled over this in his mind. He had only felt like a couple of hours had passed in the Spirit Bead Space.
"Absolutely. Each planet within the Spirit Bead Space operates on its own timeline, so it's naturally out of sync with Earth," Meier explained, her lips curling into a slight pout.
"Is there a way to fix that?" Fei Liang inquired, his brow furrowed in thought.
"Definitely. We can simply adjust the rate of time acceleration or deceleration," Meier responded.
"Really? Time can be sped up or slowed down?" Fei Liang mused, lost in thought.
"Do you want me to adjust it now?" Meier asked.
"Not at the moment," Fei Liang decided after a pause. "Next time I enter the Spirit Bead Space, align it with the Eastern Eight District's time zone."
"Understood, Mr. Fei," Meier acknowledged.
"Hey, Third, you planning on hitting the computer class this afternoon?" Lee Shanfeng queried, noticing Fei Liang's momentary distraction.
"Of course, I'm going. Why wouldn't I?" Fei Liang snapped back to reality, grinning.
And so, Fei Liang, Lee Shanfeng, Yuv Henn, and Mao Yuntian made their way to the computer lab.
Walking shoulder to shoulder, they drew attention as they moved down the path, the crowd parting before them. The deference was not for Fei Liang and the others, but for Yuv Henn alone.
"Old Zuo, looks like your reputation really precedes you," Fei Liang chuckled as he glanced at Yuv Henn.
"Perhaps," Yuv Henn replied, his face involuntarily twitching at the comment.
As they continued, the crowd naturally stepped aside, and before they knew it, the four had reached the training building. Fei Liang, Lee Shanfeng, and Mao Yuntian pressed on, while Yuv Henn veered off towards the teaching building.
"Whew!" The computer lab was on the third floor. As Fei Liang approached the stairwell, a thick book hurtled towards him with lightning speed.
"Hmph!" Mao Yuntian let out a cold snort, stepped forward, caught the book effortlessly, and flung it back.
"Ah!" A pained scream followed as someone clutched their stomach and doubled over in agony.
"Third Bro, Boss, let's move!" Without sparing a glance at the fallen figure, Mao Yuntian signaled, and the trio ascended the stairs together.
"Meier, can you pull up the info on that person from earlier?" Fei Liang was perplexed as he communicated telepathically with Meier.
"Sure thing, Mr. Fei," Meier responded with a nod. "Name: Wang Wu; Age: 22; Spiritual Energy: 382; Physical Strength: 377; Reflexes: 359; Attack Power: 367; Defense: 369; Combat Ability: 736; Attack Index: 161; Burst Power: 102; Cultivation: Middle Yellow Level."
"Wang Wu?" A sharp glint appeared in Fei Liang's eyes. He had his suspicions. Had it not been for Mao Yuntian's presence and his own ordinary status, that blow could have inflicted serious harm.
"Si's strength at the early Profound Level is quite impressive," Fei Liang mused internally.
"That's not quite right, Mr. Fei. Mao Yuntian isn't just at the early Profound Level; he's advanced to the middle Profound Level," Meier corrected him, shaking her head.
"The middle Profound Level? He's made a breakthrough?" Fei Liang quickly reviewed Mao Yuntian's data: "Name: Mao Yuntian; Age: 18; Spiritual Energy: 628; Physical Strength: 656; Reflex Sensitivity: 632; Attack Power: 663; Defense: 667; Combat Ability: 1330; Attack Index: 48; Burst Power: 113; Cultivation: Middle Profound Level."
Indeed, Mao Yuntian's capabilities had reached the middle Profound Level. He was quite the master of concealment.
"Hey there, I'm Yuv Qianer." As Fei Liang reached the third floor, he was greeted by a cheerful girl. She then turned to Mao Yuntian with excitement, "Mao Yuntian, you seem pretty strong. How about we spar?"
"Name: Yuv Qianer; Age: 19; Spiritual Energy: 578; Physical Strength: 576; Reflex Sensitivity: 575; Attack Power: 582; Defense: 579; Combat Ability: 1161; Attack Index: 88; Burst Power: 117; Cultivation: Early Profound Level." After checking the girl's information, Fei Liang instantly recognized who she was.
Yuv Qianer was renowned as one of the beauties gracing the campus of Heavenly Sea University.
"Man, Yuv Qianer is almost as formidable as Old Zuo. If Old Si hadn't made his breakthrough, he probably wouldn't stand a chance against her," Fei Liang murmured to himself upon reviewing Yuv Qianer's profile.
Yet, the reason she sought out a challenge with Mao Yuntian eluded Fei Liang.
"Miss Zuo, let's not," Mao Yuntian pleaded, his expression sour. This unexpected turn of events took Fei Liang by surprise; he had anticipated some playful banter from Mao Yuntian first.
"There's definitely more to this story!" Fei Liang's gaze sharpened as he speculated with a hint of malice. Perhaps Mao Yuntian had been caught red-handed spying on her while she bathed—a scenario quite in line with Mao Yuntian's character.
For most, sneaking a peek at Yuv Qianer in the bath would go unnoticed. But Yuv Qianer was no ordinary individual; she was a martial artist in the early stages of the Profound Level, making Mao Yuntian's discovery all the more plausible.
As Fei Liang's eyes darted between Mao Yuntian and Yuv Qianer, he became increasingly convinced of his theory.
"I might just have a knack for sleuthing, on par with Sherlock Holmes himself," Fei Liang thought, basking in self-congratulation.
