C15 The System Wanted to Differentiate Between Males and Females the System Wanted to Differentiate

Ruila frowned at him, her lips pursed in a pout. It was difficult to discern whether she was holding back her temper or genuinely angry.

"What's the matter? You should have mentioned your aversion to spicy food earlier."

He was intimidated by her glare, half-expecting her to whip out a stick at any moment.

"Where are the chopsticks?"

"Oh, my apologies," Shen Xiang said, smacking his forehead. It had slipped his mind that even cats could use chopsticks.

"Could you perhaps make a bit more?" Ruila asked, this time with a tone of negotiation. "I'm afraid this won't be quite enough."

"Sure thing."

Shen Xiang proceeded to scoop up all the leftovers in the house into an oversized bowl typically reserved for soup and brought it over. Ruila, evidently famished, ate bite after bite with her chopsticks. Despite her quick pace, Shen Xiang couldn't help but notice an unexpected grace in her movements.

Her demeanor softened as she ate, and if expressions could speak, hers would be saying "absolutely delicious."

"Just leave the rest here. Little Brother Ann will help himself when he wakes up," Ruila instructed, setting her bowl aside before rising to her feet. She turned to Shen Xiang, who was seated at the bedside, and said, "Please keep an eye on the little guy for me while I'm at work. If he vanishes, the special office will come knocking at my door."

"Work? Now?"

Shen Xiang glanced at the clock. Two in the morning? Even if she worked at a nightclub, it was nearly closing time. And besides, she wasn't human—what kind of job did she have?

"How else would I make money and afford food?" Ruila gave him a look that suggested she thought he was simple-minded. After a brief pause, she explained, "I work at the seafood market. The day's catch arrives around three, and I need to be there."

Wait... A stunning, model-esque woman like you works at a seafood market?

You're selling fish?

Oh! Of course, selling fish is great, especially for a cat. For them, it's the best job on earth—a joyous lick here and there is all part of the fun.

Ruila casually opened Shen Xiang's closet and rummaged through it, pulling out an old sweatshirt he'd bought at least three years ago. She slipped it over her white shirt and shrugged back into her denim jacket...

"Just borrowing some clothes."

She only remembered to inform Shen Xiang after she had dressed.

"Fine, fine," Shen Xiang said, waving his hand in resignation. He had come to realize she didn't see him as a guest. He then gestured toward the cat-eared lady on the floor, "When will she wake up? Is she likely to bite?"

"She'll be up in a few hours. No biting; she's not aggressive, just a bit mischievous. I'll be back by noon, though I'll try to make it sooner."

With that, she strode to the balcony, flung open the window, and leaped out.

Shen Xiang hurried to the edge to check, only to find a uniformed patrolman below, already out of Ruila's trail.

She truly was an enigma.

Shen Xiang crouched down next to the animal-eared lady known as Ann and gave her ear a playful poke.

Wow! Warm and fluffy!

No, no, no, this was no time for fantasies.

He gathered his wits, shut the door, and went back to the living room to immerse himself in his computer games.

Best to act as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.

By 5:30 pm, fatigue crept in. He stretched out on the sofa and drifted off to sleep.

"Hmm?"

Feeling a touch of warmth, Shen Xiang slowly emerged from his slumber. He tried to turn over but felt as if something was pinning him down, immobilizing him.

Blinking away confusion, he saw a delightful sight on his chest.

The silver-gradient cat girl was fast asleep, her face nestled against him. Her limbs clung to him like a koala, securing a firm embrace.

"Hey, hey, hey, is it bonus time already? Seems a bit earlier than usual."

"Meow, meow~"

Sensing the person beneath her stirring, Cat Girl nuzzled Shen Xiang's chest with her head, then wriggled up to his neck. She extended her pink tongue, gave his exposed skin a lick, and snuggled in closer.

Ah, is this the tongue of a feline? It's so different from a girl's, with a warm, prickly sensation. Must be because of the barbs.

That unique touch sent a shiver down Shen Xiang's spine. As the creature drew closer, its fluffy ears brushed against Shen Xiang's lips.

There was no taste, surprisingly clean. She seemed well-groomed, with no sign of ear mites.

Hmm, there's a bit of greasiness at the corner of her mouth, as if she had just eaten fried rice before coming over to me.

Cats have their own quirks. Some are super affectionate, burrowing into your bed, while others are aloof, like Ruila, who would never approach unless she felt like it. She'd just sit regally on the bookshelf, gazing down imperiously.

A British Shorthair, perhaps? They're known for their gentleness, curiosity, and remarkable adaptability, making them perfect for first-time cat owners. They quickly become your close companions.

I should've chosen a British Shorthair back then, instead of a Ragdoll with its excessive shedding and standoffish demeanor. Not nearly as endearing.

Shen Xiang lifted his unencumbered right hand and gently placed it on the Cat Girl's head. Her hair was incredibly smooth, scented with a pleasant shampoo fragrance, even more comforting to the touch than cat fur.

This! Is! How! You! Pet! A! Cat!

"Meow~" The Cat Girl seemed to revel in Shen Xiang's caress, contentedly wriggling her body. That movement allowed Shen Xiang to feel the softness of her form even more... It was simply...

Exquisite!

He remembered his old cat-petting techniques and softly ran his hand down her back. The still-sleeping Beast Mother appeared to be even more delighted, purring and extending her pink tongue to affectionately lick Shen Xiang a few more times.

This is too much!

A man, especially one with a fiery spirit, tends to wake up feeling robust in the morning. And now, with this adorable humanoid Cat Girl nuzzling and licking him, Shen Xiang felt an overwhelming surge of pure Yang energy pooling just below his dantian.

She's adorable, but I really don't have those kinds of thoughts. Must keep control, control, control...

Shen Xiang's expression froze as his right hand ventured downward.

"Holy crap, this is a freaking male cat!!!!"
