C6 System Daddy! Justice!(1)
The automatic agency system is truly wondrous.
Shen Xiang had been in its company for many years. Initially, he suspected he might be possessed, so he meticulously installed cameras throughout his room and home to monitor whether his body was acting without his knowledge.
However, he found nothing amiss, and the system proved to be so beneficial that he grew reliant on it.
By now, Shen Xiang had mastered the system's patterns. It functioned like an AI program, responding only to his commands and capable of being paused at will. Yet, it had its limitations. It was adept at handling operational, transactional, and routine tasks, but it struggled with more complex activities like assisting him with exams.
Shen Xiang had even used it to play chess. His initial attempts were disastrous, but over time, he improved. The system could gradually analyze and evolve with activities that followed a discernible pattern. Eventually, he stopped focusing on it, especially after a game of Go played through the system left him with a fever—clearly, it wasn't cut out for tasks that were beyond his own understanding or involved heavy computation.
He could have learned to be a boxer—or rather, a chess player.
But fighting didn't require much thought; it could be systematized.
His automated body, as if blessed with clairvoyance, could perceive information from all around through the faintest sounds and the slightest breeze, cataloging every move.
Self-defense is more than just a concept; it's a complex set of integrated commands. If an opponent stands still, the response is inaction. If an opponent throws a right straight punch, the command is to dodge left and counter with a left hook. Shen Xiang had spent considerable time assimilating such fighting techniques from online tutorials into a single command set. Beyond the raw combat skills, he incorporated cinematic action moves and, most crucially, the command to "survive."
Exaggerated as it may sound, with the self-defense command activated, Shen Xiang could be seen as embodying the spirits of countless martial artists and combat masters, with reflexes even sharper than theirs.
An automated agent might fry Shen Xiang's brain if he tried to calculate a game of Go, but in a brawl, there's no way a single move could lead to 360 different outcomes, nor could there be 359 abilities to consider after those variations. It was as if he had activated a BUFF that supercharged his thought process and eliminated any delay in his reactions!
When Shen Xiang enabled the automatic proxy command, he noticed a subtle shift in his perspective. Everything he saw was the same, yet it felt as if he had entered a god-mode, experiencing the world in the third person.
Shen Xiang lightly tapped the ground with the tip of his foot, his body seemingly at ease, but his mind was razor-sharp, ready to explode into action at any second.
The "enemy" furrowed his nose and brow, his pupils widening as the hairs on his body bristled. His raised rear end wiggled as if he were trying to shake something off, contorting continuously.
"Wuwuwuwuwu!"
A guttural growl rumbled from his throat, sounding as if he were choking on phlegm. It was a sound that made one's skin crawl with disgust and discomfort.
What in the world was this creature? The sight of the adversary's grotesque lips and sharp teeth almost made Shen Xiang want to shut his eyes in horror. Was this thing human or some kind of specter?
Just as Shen Xiang closed his eyes, the black-clad brute lunged forward, claws outstretched toward him.
But even with his eyes closed, the system had calculated the most effective counterattack. Before the enemy could reach him, Shen Xiang had already sidestepped to the right, guarding his head with his arms to avoid a surprise attack. He moved like a bolt of lightning, slipping past the assailant, then delivered a swift kick to the inside of the man's knee joint!
Caught off guard by the sudden blow and unable to stop his forward momentum, the man in black stumbled and fell to the ground.
Shen Xiang retreated a few steps and assumed the initial stance of Wing Chun – the Seeking Hand!
To his surprise, the man in black didn't attempt to stand up after falling. Instead, he propped himself up on his hands and crouched on the ground like a dog, quickly turning and pouncing toward Shen Xiang once more!
This time, his opponent's mouth gaped wide, revealing a maw of bloodstained teeth.
Shen Xiang had anticipated the attack and instinctively stepped back three times, widening the gap between them. It was as if he had an uncanny ability to foresee every possible move his opponent might make.
This was the optimal strategy when using the system, especially when it was unclear whether the adversary would strike with a fist or a bite. Creating distance was the best defense!
Thanks to his preemptive retreat, the fanged man, already mid-leap, found himself unable to close the gap through sheer will. Yet, driven by primal instinct, he lunged with an outstretched hand towards Shen Xiang.
In that moment, Shen Xiang, with eyes closed, calmly extended his hands. As the attacker's claws were destined to swipe at empty air, Shen Xiang seized the moment, grabbing the fabric of his assailant's sleeve. With a twist of his waist and a spiral surge of power from his upper body, he harnessed the man's own momentum to fling him against the nearby wall.
Let him come at me with all his might; I'll redirect it with the finesse of a master!
Bang—
Huang, caught in mid-air, felt a whirlwind of force spiraling him into the corridor wall. Wincing at the thought of the impending impact, he let out a pained howl and tumbled to the ground.
Wow! This system is truly mature and formidable in combat.
Shen Xiang opened his eyes to see his opponent crumpled and moaning on the floor. A surge of pride filled him. With skills like his, becoming a martial arts master was no tall order. A bit more physical training, and even a gold belt wouldn't be out of reach.
Just who is this guy?
Outside, Brother Diao's eyes nearly bulged out from behind his sunglasses. Huang's attack might have been straightforward, but Brother Diao was well aware of his strength. Huang's formidable martial prowess stemmed from his legs' unmatched explosive force, enabling attacks that bordered on teleportation. This was what made this simpleton a veteran agent of the Untamed Organization.
What creature had he evolved from? A human? The humans in the special office were all combat experts, capable of close-quarters battle, but they typically relied on weapons for such confrontations.
With such extraordinary strength to even throw Huang off balance, could it be a chimpanzee?
"Huang, there's no time to waste!"
He glanced around, realizing he had inadvertently made a noise. It wouldn't be long before someone arrived; the agents from the special office were formidable, and the city's Skynet was equally relentless.
Since hiding was no longer an option and exposure was inevitable, he decided to make it a quick confrontation.
"Woof."
At the sound of the command from outside, Huang, who had been playfully rolling, flipped upright and steadied himself. His gaze locked onto Shen Xiang's movements as he slowly backed away on his hind legs.
With each step he took, his body underwent a transformation.
Yellow fuzz sprouted on his face, his nose darkened, and his mouth began to jut out like the snout of a canine. His clothing strained against the swell of his burgeoning muscles until it could no longer contain them and ripped apart.
