C23 I'll Give You Some Advice
Ye Fan found himself at a loss for words, coughing awkwardly.
With her eyes closed, Mu Qingyu slowly lifted her skirt...
Ye Fan remained silent, realizing the girl truly believed he had purchased her for unsavory reasons...
"Manager Ye, please, could you be gentle... gentler, I... I..." Mu Qingyu's voice broke as she began to sob once more.
It was clear that she had endured a great deal of pain and torment in the past.
At that moment, Ye Fan felt a stirring of compassion. He quietly made his way over and sat on the bed.
Feeling the masculine presence beside her, Mu Qingyu's heart raced with panic. Despite her bravery, facing such a situation for the first time was terrifying.
But remembering Ye Fan's previous kindnesses, she felt somewhat reassured; she harbored no ill will towards him.
Gently stroking her hair, Ye Fan offered words of comfort, "Silly girl, don't see me as that kind of man. I only wanted to stop your father from bothering you further, not to... do that with you."
Mu Qingyu trembled slightly at his words, opening her eyes to look at Ye Fan as she whispered through tears, "But... but I..."
"Stop with the 'buts'. What, have you fallen for me and now you're trying to offer yourself on purpose?" Ye Fan teased, hoping to lighten the mood.
Truth be told, Ye Fan couldn't help but be affected by the stunning beauty before him, but he was not the type to exploit someone's vulnerability.
Though he might seem lecherous, Ye Fan was actually a man of principles. Otherwise, his girlfriend wouldn't have left him so coldly.
Mu Qingyu's cheeks burned with embarrassment. She was an extremely traditional girl, and voicing her earlier thoughts had pushed her to her limits.
She quickly adjusted her clothes, looked at Ye Fan with a shy expression, and murmured, "But... you did just spend two hundred thousand to buy me."
Ye Fan was torn between amusement and sympathy. "Silly girl, forget the two hundred thousand. If I were your dad, I wouldn't sell such a wonderful daughter for any amount. So don't worry, I won't make you do anything you don't want to."
"Thank you, Manager Ye. I will work hard to repay you," Mu Qingyu said with heartfelt gratitude. Tears welled up in her eyes again, but this time they were tears of appreciation.
"You, you, alright, I promise you," Ye Fan chuckled, having anticipated such a statement from the determined young woman.
"Manager Ye, you..."
"Come on, stop with the 'Manager Ye.' It sounds so formal. Just call me Brother Ye Fan, okay? Sister Qingyu, we're not at the office. No one's listening," Ye Fan said, his smile widening.
A blush spread across Mu Qingyu's cheeks, making her look as tempting as a ripe apple, irresistibly inviting.
After a moment's hesitation, still feeling too shy to use such an affectionate nickname, she compromised, "Then I'll call you Fan."
"Haha, that's fine. Just 'Fan' will do," Ye Fan responded, still beaming.
"Alright then, Sister Qingyu, I should get going. If you run into any more trouble, don't hesitate to call me," Ye Fan said as he got to his feet.
"Fan, wait a moment."
Mu Qingyu's voice stopped Ye Fan in his tracks.
"What's up?"
Before Ye Fan could process the situation, a sweet scent enveloped him, followed by a tender touch that sent his heart fluttering.
Damn, I've just been kissed out of the blue. Should I kiss her back? But Ye Fan, despite his desires, didn't have the nerve, and with a flushed face, he beat a hasty retreat like a soldier abandoning his post.
For Mu Qingyu, initiating such an intimate gesture with a man was a first, and her shyness was overwhelming. Yet, watching Ye Fan's comical dash for escape, she couldn't help but giggle with delight. She hadn't expected the often flirtatious Manager Ye to show such an endearing side.
Returning from the hospital, she had been bracing herself, suspecting that Ye Fan's ultimate goal might have been to possess her after saving her life.
But Ye Fan hadn't made any such move. His actions spoke volumes of his genuine concern for her. And considering how he had come to her aid with Ma Tao's harassment, Mu Qingyu realized that no man had ever treated her with such earnest kindness. Alongside her gratitude for Ye Fan, she felt a strange new affection stirring within her, sending her heart into a flutter.
Stepping out of the neighborhood, Ye Fan took a deep breath to calm his racing heart.
If he lingered any longer, he feared he wouldn't be able to contain his primal urges.
[Ding! You've successfully saved a kind-hearted girl and resisted the allure of beauty. As a reward, the system will now upgrade automatically!]
[Ding! System upgrade successful.]
Two electronic chimes echoed in his mind.
What? It upgraded just like that? Hahaha, what goes around comes around. Mu Qingyu, you truly are my little lucky charm.
Ye Fan hadn't anticipated the system would upgrade so effortlessly. He burst into joyful laughter.
Diving into his thoughts, he confirmed the system's level had indeed advanced to 2, and it could now store up to 20 units of energy. This was fantastic news. Haha, Ye Fan felt like he was on cloud nine, ready to soar.
[Ding ling ling!]
At that moment, Ye Fan's phone rang—it was Su Yurou.
His heart skipped a beat. Was she in trouble? Without a moment's hesitation, Ye Fan pressed the answer button.
"What's the matter?" he asked, his voice tinged with concern.
On the other end, Su Yurou, touched by Ye Fan's anxious tone, felt a surge of warmth.
"There's no need to worry, I'm fine. Shi Mingyu just called to invite me to dinner, and I found it hard to say no. He mentioned he'd come by to pick me up soon. I told him you were with me. If you're free, why don't you join us?"
"Sure, I'm on my way."
Ye Fan ended the call with a shrug. It seemed Shi Mingyu was up to no good.
Not wanting to dwell on it, he decided if Shi Mingyu crossed the line, he wouldn't hesitate to teach him a lesson he wouldn't forget.
Ye Fan drove directly to Amethyst Manor.
Once parked, he phoned Su Yurou to let her know he had arrived.
Shortly after, Su Yurou emerged from the villa, dressed in a white dress that highlighted her long, elegant legs and her fair, delicate skin. She looked refreshingly graceful, a sight that brightened the eyes of any onlooker.
Ye Fan's gaze was fixed, almost in a trance, until Su Yurou called out to him, snapping him back to reality.
He was about to strike up a conversation with Su Yurou when a black Bentley roared up to the entrance of the villa. The car door swung open, and out stepped Shi Mingyu, clad in a high-end suit, his face beaming with health.
"Hello, Brother Ye, it's been a while!" Shi Mingyu greeted Ye Fan with a warm smile.
"Yeah, it's been... quite some time," Ye Fan replied, his tone heavy with irony. He couldn't believe this guy's audacity. Hadn't Ah Mao and Ah Hu conveyed his message last time?
"Yurou, I've reserved a luxurious suite at the Jia Hua Hotel. Shall we head out?" Shi Mingyu offered with a grin.
"You're too kind," Su Yurou complimented graciously.
"Yurou, Brother Ye, please, get in," Shi Mingyu said, glancing at Ye Fan and managing a smile. He then enthusiastically opened the passenger-side door for Su Yurou, his demeanor exuding refinement.
Without a second thought, Ye Fan gently took Su Yurou's delicate arm and guided her to the back seat of the car, where they both sat down.
Startled by Ye Fan's bold gesture, Su Yurou's heart fluttered, and she quickly withdrew her arm, her cheeks blushing.
Noticing that Su Yurou chose not to sit in the front but instead joined him in the back, Shi Mingyu's face darkened.
Ye Fan, catching the change in Shi Mingyu's expression, flashed a mischievous smile. "Big Brother Shi, your complexion doesn't seem as rosy as usual."
Caught off guard, Shi Mingyu wasn't sure what Ye Fan was getting at but played along, "Indeed, I've been swamped with work recently, haha."
Su Yurou, overhearing the exchange, glanced at Ye Fan and remarked, "Ye Fan, I had no idea you were versed in medicine."
Clearly, Su Yurou had misunderstood Ye Fan's comment, but he played along, chuckling, "Haha, just a bit, just a bit."
Upon hearing the remark, Shi Mingyu couldn't help but feel annoyed. "You think you understand medicine?" he challenged. "Brother Ye Fan, since you're so knowledgeable, could you offer me some advice?"
Ye Fan nodded, his smile broadening. "Of course, Shi. I've noticed you're looking rather pale lately. Let me share a bit of wisdom from my years of experience," he offered generously.
Shi Mingyu was skeptical, suspecting Ye Fan was just showing off. Nevertheless, he was curious. "Alright, I'm all ears," he replied with a hint of sarcasm.
Su Yurou, who was nearby, couldn't help but listen intently as well.
