C3 Interview
The next morning, Ye Fan rose from his bed bright and early. After freshening up, he rummaged through his clothes and selected a suit that seemed quite presentable.
Before heading out, Ye Fan took a moment to admire his reflection in the mirror.
"Hey, System, did you know I admire myself the most? Sometimes, I feel like bowing down to my own reflection," he said to himself with a chuckle.
*Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!*
The system fell silent after Ye Fan's self-congratulatory remarks.
Promptly at eight o'clock, Ye Fan arrived at Iris International Fashion Group, the company owned by Su Yurou. Today, he was there to apply for a job.
Upon entering, he made a beeline for the reception desk.
"Sir, how may I assist you today?" greeted a young woman dressed in professional attire, her voice sweet and her appearance charming.
"Um, is the boss of this company Su Yurou?" Ye Fan inquired.
"Yes, sir. And you are?" The receptionist paused, taken aback. Ye Fan's attire didn't suggest he was particularly wealthy, yet he casually mentioned Director Su by name. Nevertheless, she maintained a polite demeanor.
"Ah, I'm Ye Fan, a... friend of your boss. Yes, that's right, a friend," he replied nonchalantly.
"Do you have an appointment?"
"An appointment? Tell you what, could you just call Director Su and let her know I'd like to see her?" Ye Fan said with confidence.
Under normal circumstances, someone like Ye Fan might have been shown the door, but his self-assurance gave the receptionist pause. Concerned she might inadvertently obstruct an important visitor, she decided to err on the side of caution.
"Of course, sir. Please hold on for a moment," she responded, reaching for the phone.
"Hello, Director Su, my apologies for the interruption. There's a gentleman named Ye Fan here claiming to be your friend. What would you like me to do?"
"Understood, Director Su. Thank you."
After hanging up, she turned to Ye Fan with newfound reverence. "Sir, Director Su would like you to come to her office."
"Where is her office?" Ye Fan inquired.
"It's on the 17th floor. The elevator is on your right."
"Great, thanks." Ye Fan flashed a grin he considered quite charming at her before heading to the elevator.
Upon reaching the 17th floor, Ye Fan explained his purpose to the security guard and was escorted to Director Su's office.
Su Yurou was busy at work, her professional attire accentuating her perfect silhouette, and her soft, lustrous black hair cascading over her shoulders, exuding an air of aloof elegance.
*Knock, knock, knock.*
The office door was suddenly rapped.
"Come in."
"Hello there, gorgeous Su. It's nice to see you again." Ye Fan entered the office, greeting Su Yurou.
"What can I do for you?" Su Yurou looked up at Ye Fan, her expression composed. Internally, she wondered if he was here for money, considering he hadn't asked last time due to the crowd.
"Well, because of the incident last time, my boss let me go, so..." Ye Fan spoke softly, a touch of embarrassment in his tone. Despite having turned her down previously, here he was... He sighed internally, cursing the system that didn't allow him to protect others.
"Fine, give me your card number, and I'll arrange for the transfer." Su Yurou's voice grew colder. 'Just as I thought, a pretender,' she mused.
"You've got it wrong, Director Su. I'm not here for money; I'm here to apply for a job," Ye Fan said, his irritation evident. His expression hardened, and his voice took on a more serious tone.
"You? Apply for a job?" Su Yurou was visibly taken aback.
"Yes, exactly." Ye Fan nodded with earnest.
"So, which position are you interested in applying for?" Su Yurou asked, her curiosity piqued.
"I was thinking of applying for a..." Ye Fan nearly let slip that he was there for a bodyguard position but caught himself, not wanting to raise Su Yurou's suspicions. He quickly amended, "Umm... Could you tell me which positions are currently available at your company?"
"Ye Fan, I don't mean anything else by this. If you're really in need of money, I can offer you some as compensation for last time. However, I'm not sure our company's positions are the right fit for you," Su Yurou said, her tone more genuine than before.
"No, I don't want your money. I'm genuinely here to apply for a job," Ye Fan responded with conviction.
Internally, Ye Fan scoffed at the idea of just taking the money and leaving. How would he then protect her and fulfill his system mission? He had to stay. By staying, he would have opportunities to interact with Su Yurou and the chance to protect her and complete his mission.
Seeing Ye Fan's resolute stance, Su Yurou didn't press further. He had done her a favor in the past, so she simply said, "Alright, later on, please go see my assistant, Ling Sixue. Tell her I sent you to discuss the specific job position."
"Okay, thank you," Ye Fan replied before turning and walking away.
Su Yurou watched Ye Fan's departing figure and shook her head, clearly skeptical about his chances of staying on.
Once outside, Ye Fan straightened his shirt collar and headed to the CEO's assistant's office.
The door was ajar, so Ye Fan knocked and entered.
"Hello, you must be Ye Fan, right? Director Su just called me, mentioning you're here to apply for a position with us?"
The woman addressing Ye Fan was strikingly beautiful, dressed in a smart uniform, with a tall and graceful figure, and a face that seemed sculpted with precision, complemented by her fair skin.
She was Su Yurou's assistant, Ling Sixue.
Ye Fan couldn't help but marvel at the number of attractive women at Iris International.
"Yes, that's right. Could you tell me if there are any open positions at the company?" Ye Fan asked cheerfully.
"I've just checked, and currently, there's only one opening for the PR Manager. Here are the job requirements. Please take a look," Ling Sixue said as she handed Ye Fan a document.
At Ling Sixue's words, Ye Fan felt a surge of excitement. The PR Manager position sounded quite impressive.
He eagerly took the document and began to review it.
The key qualification for the PR Manager role was strong communication skills in both English and French.
Interestingly, the job listing did not specify any educational requirements. It appeared that Iris International placed a greater emphasis on individual skills than on academic credentials. Besides, proficiency in both languages likely indicated a solid educational background.
Ye Fan pondered the challenge of securing the position. English and French... It seemed he would have to depend on his super system.
With this in mind, Ye Fan reached out to the system telepathically. He silently implored, "System, you've got to help me out here. It's got to work this time."
"Host has expressed a need. Would you like to expend two energy cells to master English and French?" the sweet electronic voice inquired within his mind.
Relieved, Ye Fan mentally consented to the system's offer.
[Ding! The host has proficiently mastered both languages!]
Simultaneously, the system's energy dropped from five to three.
Looking up, Ye Fan flashed a confident smile at Ling Sixue and declared, "No problem, I'll take the PR Manager role."
Ling Sixue regarded Ye Fan with astonishment. She had expected him to retreat after reviewing the job requirements, but instead... Did he not realize there were currently no men in the public relations department? Or did he have ulterior motives from the outset?
Nevertheless, she refrained from commenting. Despite her surprise, her professionalism swiftly returned. She handed Ye Fan an application form, instructing, "Fill this out, and then you can head up to the recruitment department on the second floor for your interview."
"Alright, thanks a lot," Ye Fan replied with a grin, already thrilled at the prospect of working among so many beauties.
Ye Fan quickly completed his information and bid farewell to Ling Sixue. He then made his way to the recruitment department upstairs.
Upon reaching the second-floor recruitment department, Ye Fan noticed the crowd of young applicants, all of whom were women.
His gaze swept the room, and he spotted several strikingly attractive women.
"Could it be that all my future subordinates will be beauties?" he mused, allowing himself a moment of elation.
At last, Ye Fan spotted a heavyset man among the throng of people. This individual stood out not because of his size, but because he was the only other man present besides Ye Fan.
