C11 Recruitment
Suddenly, three familiar figures emerged, brandishing their sabers and clubs, furiously cutting down the wolves.
"It's Chiang Yu and the others!"
In that moment, Lee Xiuping and her companions were as thrilled as if they'd grasped a lifeline, nearly passing out from the excitement.
...
"Chiang Yu, take a few shots at the snow wolf king to test its mettle. Liu Fei and I will cover you," Lin Feng commanded, dispatching another wild wolf with ease.
"Alright."
Chiang Yu planted his saber in the ground and retrieved his bow and arrows.
He drew the bow, readying an arrow.
Whoosh!
The arrow whistled through the air.
The snow wolf king, already alert to their presence, executed a graceful leap, evading the shot with ease. The arrow landed in the forehead of another wolf five meters away, killing it instantly.
Chiang Yu loosed five more arrows in quick succession, but the wolf king dodged each one with ease.
"Its speed must be around one hundred thirty to forty meters per second," Lin Feng observed.
That speed was comparable to Lin Feng's own when not using Mana Ignition, just slightly slower than Gu Chen.
The difference, however, was that Gu Chen had been airborne, unable to leverage any force for dodging, whereas the wolf king, firmly grounded, moved with incredible agility.
"I'd place its strength somewhere between C2 and C3. I'm going to take it down; you two stay sharp," Lin Feng declared, advancing toward the snow wolf king.
The pelt of the snow wolf king was exceedingly valuable.
Even one not yet fully grown, with fur in prime condition, could fetch a price between two and three hundred thousand. To the right buyer, even four to five hundred thousand wasn't out of the question.
Lin Feng needed the money!
He was determined not to let this wolf king slip away.
"Holy smokes! Lin Feng's lost his mind," Lee Xiuping and the others muttered in disbelief from afar.
But what came next was even more astounding. Lin Feng charged into the pack, his Feather Blade slicing through the air, and the wolves fell before him in droves.
"He... He's got the power of a Warrior!" Zhang Peng's voice shook with awe.
Lee Xiuping and Wang Huan were equally astonished.
At that moment, they finally realized that Lin Feng was the dominant force among Chiang Yu and the other two.
They had been blind, mistaking him for the weakest link!
"This guy is a master at laying low," they said to each other, their faces etched with bitterness.
They recognized that they had squandered their opportunity to befriend Lin Feng.
From now on, no matter what they did, Lin Feng would regard them as nothing more than ordinary classmates.
...
"Kill!"
Lin Feng's Level 5 blade was razor-sharp, leaving no adversary standing. Any wild wolf that crossed his path was left either dead or disabled.
The fleeing students gradually came to a halt, staring in awe at Lin Feng's display of power.
All the wild wolves charged at Lin Feng in a frenzied assault.
The Snow Wolf King had already fled. The creature was cunning, sensing the peril and choosing not to gamble with its life.
"Damn it!"
As the Snow Wolf King got further away, Lin Feng grew increasingly impatient.
This wasn't just any wolf king; it was a walking treasure trove!
It was like a moving stack of cash!
"You've brought this on yourself!"
He activated Mana Ignition without a second thought, bolstered by threefold battle power.
In a flash, a wild energy surged through him. Lin Feng felt like a blazing inferno, his body radiating intense heat.
"Kill!"
His speed surged dramatically.
From an initial velocity of around one hundred thirty-five meters per second, he rocketed to nearly two hundred meters per second.
That was the baseline sprinting speed of a First Level War General!
Gasps of amazement filled the air.
Clearly, Lin Feng's prowess had left everyone dumbfounded.
The air was streaked with his afterimages.
In just four seconds, Lin Feng had dashed over eight hundred meters, catching up to the Snow Wolf King that had been three hundred meters ahead.
"Kill!"
In the final second of Mana Ignition, Lin Feng swung his blade.
The Snow Wolf King's azure eyes widened with terror, unable to comprehend the sheer horror of the human before it.
Lin Feng was too fast to resist, and in a flash, he decapitated the beast!
Puff!
The wolf king's head soared skyward as blood spurted out.
The surrounding wild wolves were momentarily stunned before they scattered in a panic, tails tucked between their legs.
"Phew..."
Lin Feng let out a breath of stale air.
Weakness quickly overtook his body.
"A hundred thousand dollars, just like that..." Lin Feng's mouth twitched in dismay.
Earlier, when slaying Gu Chen, he had used Mana Ignition two or three times, depleting five hundred energy points.
Now, after using triple Mana Ignition to defeat the Snow Wolf King, the last five hundred energy points vanished in a mere five seconds.
"Still, I'm not at a loss," Lin Feng said with a smile.
The black dragon armor he wore was worth a cool five million, not to mention the Snow Wolf King's pelt could fetch two to three hundred thousand.
There was no question—he had profited handsomely from both uses of Mana Ignition.
...
Upon their arrival, the rescue teams were astounded to see the threat had already been neutralized.
With an unusually high number of distress signals, five squads had been dispatched.
The twenty-five battle-hardened soldiers quickly focused on Lin Feng.
The sight of the Snow Wolf King's carcass made their eyes gleam.
"We've got a promising newcomer this time!"
"Indeed. Such a young man capable of slaying the Snow Wolf King has an immeasurable future ahead of him!"
"After a few years of university training, as long as he survives, our city may well have a new War General soon enough!"
Smiles spread across the soldiers' faces.
Each War General was a treasure to Lofreydor, a nation with only two War Gods to its name.
And becoming a War God was an even rarer feat.
Thus, War Generals were the backbone of the city.
"Let's move out."
The soldiers shook their heads, a silent agreement between them.
The ongoing assessment meant it wasn't appropriate to engage in conversation, so they didn't linger, leading the students who had launched the flares away.
Regret was etched on the students' faces.
Who could have predicted Lin Feng's sudden emergence?
Had they known, they would have persevered just a few seconds longer.
...
Outside Warzone 509.
Inside a heavily fortified military base.
"What? This kid named Lin Feng took down a snow wolf king?"
Upon receiving the report, Major General Ouyang Feng, the commander of Warzone 509, had his eyes sparkle with excitement.
"Excellent! Haha, who would have thought? Beyond Hsu Ying from No. 66 High School, Zhang Chaohai from No. 65 High School, and Wang Pingzhi from No. 67 High School, there's another genius that slipped through the net!"
The reporting soldier couldn't help but smile as well.
"Alright, I've got the picture. You're dismissed."
"Yes, General!" The soldier saluted crisply and exited.
Ouyang Feng, hands clasped behind his back, paced the room, deep in thought.
A new genius had emerged, and he was determined to recruit him to his side.
"I'd better make a call to see if this guy's part of the surrender faction," Ouyang Feng muttered, suddenly remembering something. He quickly pulled out his phone: "Hello? This is Ouyang Feng. I need to run a background check on someone. Yes, Lin Feng from No. 66 High School..."
...
As evening fell, students streamed out of the Warzone, their expressions a mix of elation and dejection.
Meanwhile, outside the Warzone, a strikingly handsome young man stood with his hands behind his back.
"Young Master, I'm confident the Third Young Master breezed through the exam. Soon he'll join you at the University of Norbury, fighting by your side," said the middle-aged man beside him, smiling.
The young man nodded, his face breaking into a grin. "Third Brother's skills make him a natural at this level of assessment. He's sure to succeed with flying colors."
