C8 Memories Erased
Monkey was perched on the edge of the abyss, wiping away tears that fell into its depths.
Without a thought for the perilous drop, Lao Ma delivered a swift kick to Monkey's behind. A cold sweat drenched Monkey's back, fear nearly seizing his heart.
"Are you trying to kill me, Lao Ma?"
Monkey leaped to his feet, yelling at Lao Ma.
"My kick didn't hurt you, did it? Do you really think Doggie and his crew are so clumsy that they'd all tumble down?"
Lao Ma retorted, his voice laced with frustration.
"Yeah, you're right. It's impossible for Doggie to have fallen. But where could he have gone?"
Monkey scanned the surroundings but found no other paths.
"Aliens!"
In the midst of the confusion, Lin Yan, who had been quiet until now, spoke up gently.
Lin Yan was crouched on the ground, examining a skeleton that bore a striking resemblance to a human's, yet was considerably larger. The visible bones had subtle differences from those of humans.
"Be careful, Lin Yan!"
Lao Ma quickly yanked Lin Yan's hand back.
"Don't worry. This alien has no energy left. It looks like it's been here for at least a thousand years."
"Over here too!"
Another voice called out to Lin Yan and the others from a different spot. They hurried over and, as suspected, found evidence of a battle, one that involved the alien race. They discovered five or six skeletons, all alien, and it seemed there was more than one species among them.
"Ugh! What is this junk? It actually cut my finger."
Monkey crouched before a skeleton, shaking his finger before sucking on the wound.
Unnoticed by the group, a hand suddenly burst forth from the earth.
As the hand emerged, Lin Yan's heart jolted, a sense of dread washing over him.
He looked towards Monkey, who, oblivious, continued to examine his finger in the torchlight.
Hu...
An eerie breeze wafted up from the abyss, not strong, but enough to make it difficult to keep one's eyes open.
"Monkey! Get over here!"
Lin Yan, gripping Lao Ma, called out to Monkey. Monkey squinted against the wind and rose to his feet, about to head towards Lin Yan.
Without warning, a humanoid shadow materialized behind Monkey. It appeared from nowhere, catching Monkey completely off guard.
"Run!"
Lin Yan's cry rang out. Monkey slowly turned, his face morphing from confusion to sheer terror.
"An... Alien!"
With a swift motion, the shadow's hand swept Monkey away, vanishing in an instant.
"Monkey! Monkey..."
Lin Yan's voice tore through the air as he tugged at Lao Ma, feeling no resistance.
"Damn it!"
He spun around to find Lao Ma gone, leaving only the tattered remains of his sleeve.
Amidst the sinister wind, the torchlight flickered out, and panicked screams echoed. Lin Yan drew a dagger from behind and stood his ground, his eyes burning with a vengeful fire.
"Bring it on. You're the ones who took Doggie and his team, aren't you? Well, I, Lin Yan, am here now, and I swear we'll fight to the bitter end!"
The dagger in Lin Yan's hand glinted with a silver sheen, piercing the darkness. A towering figure loomed before him, advancing towards Lin Yan with deliberate steps.
"Kill!"
A silver streak, cold and unyielding, lanced towards the towering humanoid figure.
Crack!
The dagger never reached its target, shattering into scraps of metal in Lin Yan's grasp.
"Human? I require your vessel!"
A raspy voice echoed from the shadows, grating like sand against stone, sending shivers down one's spine.
"Give me back my brother!"
Facing the formidable alien entity, Lin Yan charged heedlessly, driven by vengeance. The shadowy figure chuckled softly, then vanished before Lin Yan, transforming into a black mist that surged into his every orifice.
Agony engulfed Lin Yan. It was as if venomous ants were tearing at his flesh, followed by a searing pain akin to being engulfed in flames.
"An impressive physique. From this moment, you are mine!"
The voice invaded Lin Yan's mind as he writhed in torment on the ground. His skin flickered with a faint red glow in the darkness.
His bloodline was being usurped by the Alien Clan Soul!
Lin Yan's consciousness began to blur. It was as though a parasite was devouring his memories: first, his life in the barracks, then the days spent with Boss Hee and his brothers, and finally, the moment he was found by Boss Hee.
The deeper the invasion, the more excruciating the pain, his sense of self crumbling away.
When a figure in a black robe materialized in Lin Yan's mind, the voice screeched in alarm.
"Curse it! Impossible! You're not human! You're one of the Alien Clan, their royalty!"
"The ancient bloodline of the Bronze Age..."
A voice from the recesses of Lin Yan's memory resonated. The bloodline that once pulsed with red now turned a deep green.
The green glow illuminated the cavern and the abyss above, wounding the Alien Clan Souls that roamed the demonic winds. They screamed, scattering in terror.
Then...
The stone platform in the abyss tolled like a bell. Upon it sat a colossal copper bell.
Lin Yan's body levitated, and the ancient sword-like red mark reemerged, eleven years after its first appearance. With the reappearance of the mark, a vein-like line emerged on Lin Yan's forehead.
The Martial Vein!
A sign of a Martial Fighter, it suggested the potential to unlock at least eight meridians!
Then...
The copper bell on the platform pealed relentlessly. The green aura surrounding Lin Yan began to recede, retreating back into his body.
The alien entity within Lin Yan's consciousness battered against him in vain.
Among the Alien Clan, there were many races. From the lowest soldier race to the noble royal race, with the imperial lineage at the pinnacle, commanding the allegiance of all others.
As the alien entity had revealed, Lin Yan was of the imperial lineage. His bloodline was not one to be altered at whim, nor was his consciousness something to be erased.
