C14 Unstoppable Step

Zhang Lei was consumed by madness, his sole focus on murder. With his Nascent Soul cultivation, he could annihilate every last disciple of Stormwrack and still have the power to wipe out the disciples of Skyhaven Clan.

Qin Mu descended swiftly, landing squarely in front of Zhang Lei.

Zhang Lei's eyes blazed with fury as he growled at Qin Mu, "Kid! I know you come from a prominent family, but you'd best step aside. Otherwise, I'll have no choice but to kill you and become a fugitive."

Qin Mu had perished in an ice cave a century ago, yet despite the passage of time, his appearance remained unchanged, looking no older than a man in his twenties. This led Zhang Lei to mistakenly assume Qin Mu was from a noble lineage.

In truth, Qin Mu was of noble birth, hailing from the Qin family. But now, he had severed all ties with them—unless one counted enmity as a connection.

"Rest assured! Killing me won't bring any trouble upon you. Go ahead, make your move!" Qin Mu said nonchalantly, gesturing with open hands.

"Five Thunder Annihilation!" Zhang Lei launched his attack, aiming to obliterate Qin Mu in a single strike and then mercilessly slaughter the Skyhaven Clan's disciples.

But his efforts were in vain.

For Qin Mu, battling Zhang Lei was child's play. With a mere wave of his hand, he dispersed the thunderclouds Zhang Lei had summoned.

Unbeknownst to the fighting disciples below, if the Stormwrack disciples had witnessed this display, their morale would have crumbled completely, as their sect master was their sole source of spiritual support.

The battlefield was shrouded in smoke, with colossal fire dragons occasionally bursting forth.

The Ling sisters weaved through the chaos, setting off a barrage of poison pills, poison powders, and other toxic concoctions they had seized from Stormwrack. A kaleidoscope of poisons blanketed the sect's grounds.

The Skyhaven Clan disciples had ingested Stormwrack's own antidote, which mitigated the effects, but the unprepared Stormwrack disciples were left ashen-faced and devoid of spiritual energy. Once vigorous and lively, they now resembled ailing chicks.

The disciples of the Skyhaven Clan executed their foes with the efficiency of a butcher slaughtering chickens, severing heads with a swift stroke of their blades.

In midair, Zhang Lei launched a frenzied assault on Qin Mu, but to no avail...

The more Zhang Lei fought, the more frustrated he became. Despite deploying every trick in his arsenal, his opponent seemed utterly indifferent, never once counterattacking. Zhang Lei's every strike felt as though it were landing on a cushion of cotton.

As he glanced down at his fellow poisoned Stormwrack disciples, Zhang Lei's spirits plummeted even further.

Within the confines of Stormwrack's Aetherium Gaol, an individual stealthily made their way inside. Chaos reigned outside, leaving Stormwrack short-staffed, and the gaol's guards had been reassigned.

The intruder produced a large set of keys, unlocked the Aetherium Gaol's gate, and headed straight for the innermost cell.

"Master! Are you there?" the person called out to the furthest cell.

"Shen Bing, what's the situation outside?" came the voice of Sun Xing.

Shen Bing, the disciple of Sun Xing, was visibly thrilled. She quickly sought out the key and exclaimed, "Master, Stormwrack is doomed. We're free to go."

As the door swung open, Sun Xing immediately inquired, "Do you have what I asked for?"

"Here, Master!" Shen Bing presented a delicately prepared small flower.

"I am the ultimate victor!"

Shen Bing echoed her sentiment, "Master, unrivaled under the heavens, both Skyhaven Clan and Stormwrack will ultimately fall into your grasp!"

Basking in Shen Bing's praise, Sun Xing planted the flower in the ground and declared, "Once my martial prowess is fully realized, you shall share in the spoils!"

"Rest assured, Master. I am ready to serve you through thick and thin, come what may!"

Across the grounds of Stormwrack, countless bodies lay scattered, each emanating a faint dark red ripple that went unnoticed by the disciples.

The conflict escalated, with the Stormwrack disciples falling back in combat, only to find themselves quickly encircled by the relentless Skyhaven Clan.

This time, the disciples of Stormwrack found themselves trapped, with no escape in sight.

Zhang Lei fixed her gaze on Qin Mu and ceased her assault, questioning, "Who exactly are you?"

Qin Mu, seeing Zhang Lei's surrender, felt no urgency. The outcome was already decided.

Yet, Zhang Lei's question left Qin Mu at a loss.

Who was he?

A transmigrator? The Young Lord of the Qin family?

He was unsure and found little appeal in these identities.

"System, do I even have an identity? Why did you choose me?"

"Perhaps I saved the world in a past life?"

With a wry smile, Qin Mu tossed the question to the system.

The system, flustered by Qin Mu's inquiry, replied hurriedly.

"The system's choices are in harmony with the Heavenly Dao. You were chosen by the Heavenly Dao, and thus, the system chose you as well."

Listening to the system's flattering words, Qin Mu thought, how should he react? It was oddly satisfying to hear.

"I am the chosen one of the Heavenly Dao, destined to conquer the world!" Qin Mu declared with youthful bravado.

Zhang Lei's expression turned to one of astonishment; he seemed to have taken Qin Mu's words to heart.

"Ding!"

"The system has detected the aura of the Mandragora. The Mandragora is evolving."

"The system has detected the aura of the Mandragora. The Mandragora is evolving."

The system's urgent voice rang out, leaving Qin Mu wondering: Could this thing actually evolve?

Nevertheless, he swiftly scanned the area with his Divine Sense, all plants coming into view, yet the mandragora was nowhere to be found.

Had the system erred?

"I am prepared to lead the disciples of Stormwrack to align with the Skyhaven Clan. Please, extend your grace!" Zhang Lei's face showed a mix of conflict and resolve as he spoke.

Qin Mu was baffled. Were they really offering surrender?

"All disciples of Stormwrack, cease your attacks. From this day forward, Stormwrack will pledge allegiance to the Skyhaven Clan!"

Without waiting for Qin Mu's response, Zhang Lei's declaration reverberated throughout Stormwrack.

Upon hearing his words, the disciples from both Skyhaven Clan and Stormwrack ceased their skirmish. The Skyhaven Clan's disciples were filled with elation; they had triumphed, they had truly emerged victorious!

The remaining disciples and elders of Stormwrack Sect dropped their weapons to the ground, their eyes brimming with desolation. Yet, as they took stock of their own state and the altered corpses around them, they all let out a collective sigh.

Stormwrack Sect had truly been defeated!

Qin Mu couldn't help but smile wryly. He hadn't anticipated Zhang Lei's decisiveness; the man had surrendered without a moment's hesitation. With the enemy laying down their arms, Qin Mu found it unseemly to pursue them further.

"Mr. Zhang, now that you've surrendered, please organize what's left of your disciples. I'll be sending some of my own to station themselves at Stormwrack Sect. Let's have no more crooked schemes from you!"

Zhang Lei gave a bitter laugh. "Surrendering is preferable to watching all these disciples perish. They've followed me, and I cannot simply disregard their lives."
