C11 A little dazed
I saw that the man in the past had his suit ripped off, and I didn't want to get too close to him at the time. However, the middle-aged man quickly drove away, and just as I approached, Bai Jie seemed to be in a daze.
"Dean Bai." I called out twice before she reacted.
"Little Zhang, it's you."
"Was that man your friend?" I'm just probing. I guess the most accurate outcome would be her husband or lover.
Bai Jie seemed to fall into silence again after my question. Did something happen to her? And for a while she didn't respond to my question. Instead, she walked on alone.
It wasn't until she was almost hit by a car that she came to her senses. After a long screech of brakes and the curses of the driver, Bai Jie seemed to realize that she was in danger.
Only then did I walk up to her. Bai Jie's panic made me want to protect her a little more.
"Director Bai, are you alright?"
"Little Zhang, I'm fine. Hurry up and go. It's getting late."
Then we got on the subway together. Bai Jie didn't explain too much about what just happened. I felt that there were so many similarities between her and the first time I met her. It was obvious the crux of the problem was, was she the abandoned wife of that man?
Of course, this was just my guess and there was no actual basis for it. Furthermore, this was someone else's privacy, so I couldn't ask too much. While I was thinking about it, I heard her turn around and tell me.
"Little Zhang, stop calling me Sister Bai at the company from now on."
Bai Jie's words immediately pulled the distance between us.
"Sister Bai." However, I still called her softly. Bai Jie was laughing happily, this was the first time I smiled since I saw her.
After all, I had such a crazy scene last night, but I didn't expect that not only did she not find me but she also didn't come to the company today. I thought something happened to her.
But I didn't get to know too much, because this time the project manager asked me to do the unfinished project of the Mountain and Water Courtyard, and tomorrow I have to spend most of the day on the case.
By the end of the shift, I still had some budget to work on, so I worked overtime. Marvin and a couple of older girls and Bai Jie also said goodbye, and after that the office was empty except for me, which seemed to have become more efficient, about seven o'clock. It was getting dark outside the window, and the project case was finally coming to an end.
But just as I was about to pack up and go back, a burst of Su Wei's perfume wafted into the office.
Why don't I get off work and go on a date? she asked.
When I said I didn't have a girlfriend, she seemed to have just remembered the question that she asked me the last time. Then she smiled embarrassedly and continued saying, Let's eat together.
After dinner, she said, in the car.
"Little Zhang, I don't want to go home. Can you accompany me for a ride?"
"Of course not." "Yes," I said.
"Little Zhang, can you drive?" With that, Su Wei handed me the car keys.
The night in Huaxia was especially gorgeous. The lights shone under the neon lights, making it seem like it was flourishing.
Looking through the car mirror, I saw that Su Wei's face had a slight blush, perhaps due to the hot air. I opened a small window to let the wind in gently, from this angle, Su Wei was like a gentle woman. When I looked at her, I thought, Su Wei is also not easy, she still has to deal with all kinds of work every day.
"Little Zhang, did I fall asleep just now?"
But then she said softly, but my heart was beating so hard it was hard to explain, and while my heart was pounding like a deer, she just straightened her clothes and turned to me.
"Tonight is a beautiful night. Why don't we go to the river and have a breeze?"
When I heard this, I knew that she didn't care about what happened just now, but my nerves were still tight. When I stopped the car by the river, the wind blew by. It was so comfortable. The wind also blew Su Wei's hair away.
"Little Zhang, get off the car and chat with me." Su Wei said indifferently.
I looked at Su Wei. She wasn't looking at me, but outside the window. Before I could react, Su Wei had already opened the car door and got out. I followed behind her.
Today, Su Wei was very different from her usual self. It could be said that she was a completely different person. Could it be due to the content just now? It's just that she didn't say it out loud, so I'm a little nervous.
After walking for a long distance, she stopped and leaned against the railing by the river. She played with her hair, and I no longer avoided Su Wei's gaze. When we looked at each other, I could feel the special content in his eyes.
"Little Zhang, accompany me to chat?" Su Wei spoke very sincerely.
"Alright." "Yes," I said.
"Little Zhang, what do you think of love and career?"
This seemed to be a very deep question. When I looked at her, I didn't notice anything amiss. However, I couldn't find an answer to this question. I stayed silent for a while before replying …
"In the beginning, I thought the business was based on love, but now I think there is no love without a career. It's a popular saying now: you would rather cry in a BMW than laugh on a bicycle."
"You're right, there's no love without a career." When Su Wei responded to me, I don't know from where a series of crisp guitars accompanied the singing. I saw that not far away, there was a wandering singer singing.
There was a hint of longing for love in the song, but then my phone rang, and I heard Bai Jie's voice, and there was something sad in her voice.
"Sister Bai, did something happen?" I asked anxiously.
"Little Zhang, where are you?" Bai Jie didn't respond to my question but asked me instead.
"I'm still outside." After I said that, Bai Jie let out an "oh" and then went silent for a while. I wanted to ask a few more questions, but I already heard a ringing reply from the other end of the phone. Did something happen to Bai Jie?
I was about to call her on my cell phone when I realized that the phone was already turned off. Su Wei might be able to tell what was going on, but she just said it blandly.
"If you have anything to say, let's go back first."
"Then, CEO Su, I'm really sorry about tonight, because a friend came to find me for a matter." I didn't say that this friend was Bai Jie. After all, what would Su Wei think?
However, he did not expect Su Wei to know that it was Bai Jie's phone call.
She asked me as we got out of the car, "That was Bai Jie's phone call, wasn't it?" I didn't know how to respond, but before she could, the car disappeared.
I searched around the district but didn't find Bai Jie. When I got back to the house, I was surprised to see her standing outside the door with a suitcase in her hand!
