C5 Confused Boss

In no time at all, Su Ming had selected a hefty assortment of farming tools, along with a generous quantity of seeds and fertilizer. The taxi stood no chance of fitting all these items.

"Boss, could you help me get these things back to my place? I'll cover the transport costs," Su Ming asked, looking at the shopkeeper.

"Sure thing, no problem," the shopkeeper agreed with an easy nod.

Su Ming transferred 500 yuan to the taxi driver, compensating for the three hours spent. The driver departed contentedly, while the shopkeeper pulled out a somewhat dilapidated van from the adjacent warehouse. He loaded it up with the tools, fertilizer, and seeds.

"Where to?" the shopkeeper inquired as he settled into the driver's seat.

"Here's the location," Su Ming responded, sending a GPS pin.

"You're not pulling my leg, are you?" The center of the city was a forest of skyscrapers, where land was incredibly valuable. No one would consider farming there.

Su Ming felt a twinge of frustration but couldn't fault the shopkeeper for his skepticism. He had been just as incredulous at first.

Pulling out his phone, Su Ming quickly made a payment. "Boss, I've paid you. If I'm tricking you, feel free to take everything back. Deal?"

The shopkeeper was momentarily taken aback. Was this some new pastime for the wealthy?

"Alright," he agreed, nodding.

An hour and a half later, they arrived. The shopkeeper stepped out of the van and was met with a surprise—a real farm!

"Let's unload," Su Ming said cheerfully.

"Sure!" The shopkeeper got to work, his mind racing. He was actually starting a farm here? Could agriculture be the next big moneymaker?

If Su Ming could hear the shopkeeper's thoughts, he'd be caught between laughter and tears. Wealth wasn't his aim; he aspired to be a simple farmer.

Rolling up his sleeves, Su Ming began weeding, dedicating roughly three hours to clean up an area of about 100 square meters. Two acres was no modest plot of land. Now, what to plant?

Su Ming felt a bit stumped. He approached the seed storage, closed his eyes, and grabbed a handful of seeds. Opening his eyes, he found himself holding bamboo seeds. The System had promised that crops grown here would mature much faster than usual.

Su Ming was genuinely excited.

He completed the planting in no time.

"Success! The bamboo has been planted! Ready for harvest in 12 hours!"
