C6 To be Blackmailed for Taxi Fare

Since when did Margaret ever be humiliated in this way? She wanted to go up and argue with Anson, but her roommates, Eloise and Clara, stopped her.

“Meg, let it go. Anson has changed. He isn’t the one we remembered. It would be a waste of time for you to go.” advised Eloise.

“I agree with Eloise, Meg. So what if he won a big lottery? We don’t even want to go to his dinner party.” said Clara indignantly.

A vicious look appeared on Margaret’s face.

“Wrong thinking! If he treats us to a meal, I’ll order the most expensive food in the restaurant. I won’t let him off so easily!”

"Anson, we also want to bring our girlfriends along. You’re okay with that, are you?” asked Kieran in a calculating manner.

Anson could not refuse, so he agreed enthusiastically.

After all, these roommates and he still had to live under the same roof for at least three years. Anson didn’t want to make his life a living hell by offending them.

“Of course, of course. You all can bring your girlfriend. I won’t mind.”

“That’s my man!” Kieran gave Anson a hearty pat on the shoulder. When he turned around, a hint of smug flashed into his eyes.

“Attention! Everyone! Time to leave for Dream Garden for a big dinner! Our dear Anson is treating today!” shouted Kieran.

The classroom burst into an uproar once again.

At the school gate, Anson directly got into a taxi. Someone also wanted to get in, but Anson quickly closed the door and blocked them outside.

“Hey, dude! What are you doing?”

Anson rolled down the window and waved at everyone with a smile.

“I only said treating you to a meal. I didn't say anything about paying your taxi fees. See, this taxi has just enough room for me.”

“Then how should we get there?”

“That’s not my concern, I guess. See you guys at Dream Garden!”

Anson waved at them and closed the window.

Back in the day, this was how everyone in this class had treated him.

It’s your turn to have a taste of it!

Anson could never forget being ruthlessly chased out of the bus during a group activity. When he begged to be let in, he was refused under the pretext of lack of space, even though there were five or six empty seats.

As everyone watched Anson arrogantly leave in a taxi, jealousy, and resentment rose in their hearts.

“Guys, guys, don’t worry about him not paying. Let’s all take a taxi. I will make Anson pay for the car when we arrive.” said Myles.

But still, no one moved.

“What's with all the fuss? Reach out your hand and hail a taxi! Doesn’t Anson have plenty of money? Why worry about him not being able to pay?” urged Jeremy.

Everyone agreed with Jeremy's words.

Jeremy and Myles exchanged a glance and smirked with satisfaction, determined not to miss any opportunity to make Anson bleed money.

There are nearly fifty students in the class, and more than ten taxis were taken. They all made up their minds to make Anson pay for the taxi fare.

From Natler University, which was located on the outskirts of the city, to Dream Garden in the city center, the taxi fare for just one car was nearly 100 US dollars.

“Jeremy, get in the car!"

"No, I'll drive over."

Jeremy didn't want to squeeze into a taxi with a group of poor students. He preferred driving his BMW!

When Jeremy drove the BMW out of the school gate, he happened to see Athena passing by and had an idea.

Jeremy had a crush on Athena for a long time. But every time he asked Athena out, he was rejected.

This time Anson invited them to the best restaurant in the city, and he could also ask Athena to be his companion, hoping to win her heart.

Jeremy rolled down the window and said hello Athena. Then he casually mentioned that they were going to Dream Garden for dinner and asked if she would like to come along.

Athena had heard of Dream Garden. It was one of the most famous five-star hotels. The food there was all cooked by the top chefs. She always wanted to dine at that place.

Athena agreed to Jeremy's invitation.

Half an hour later, a group of people arrived at the entrance of Dream Garden.

When everyone got out of the car, they were all looking for Anson.

Anson had already booked five private rooms. To ordinary people, they were already top-class private rooms. He was waiting for everyone's arrival in the room already.

When they saw no sign of Anson, they all thought that Anson had tricked them and did not come.

Otto was so angry that he tried to rush into Dream Garden but was stopped by the security guard at the door. He could only hold back his anger and stood at the door and shouted.

“Anson, you bastard! Where are you? Are you getting cold feet and running away?"

The manager angrily walked out when he heard the shout at the door.“Shut up! If you want to come in for dinner, then pay the entrance fee. If you can’t afford it, then get the hell out of here. Don't disturb our business!"

When he saw Myles and the people behind him, he could tell that they were poor students. He looked to the security guards.

The security guard moved out and glared fiercely at them.

Otto took a few steps back timidly. "We are here to look for someone! He is our classmate. He said he would invite us to Dream Garden for a meal!"

A trace of ridicule flashed across Myles' eyes. What a pussy!

"Oh? What's his name?" The manager asked suspiciously.

"Anson!" Otto replied.

"Mr. Edwards? You guys are Mr. Edwards' classmates!" The manager exclaimed.

"Yes!" Everyone was confused and nodded. They felt that the manager was a little strange.

"Since you are Mr. Edwards's guests, then quickly come inside! Mr. Edwards has been waiting for you."

"Wait, we can't go in right now. We haven't paid for the taxi yet! Could you call Anson out?" Myles shouted.

"Forget it! We can pay ourselves.” Iker said in a low voice. He felt that it was not right for everyone to extort money from Anson like this.

"That's right!” said Brianna. Although she hated him, Brianna still planned on keeping Anson's money to herself.

“Good for you two, trying to act like a good person now! How about you two pay for the money for us?” Myles said sarcastically.

Iker and Brianna immediately fell speechless. More than a thousand dollars of taxi fare would cover their living expenses for a month. If they paid for it, they would have to live on air for the rest of the month.

The manager looked at Myles and the others strangely and quickly ran in.
