C8 The Monarch Suite for Me

"How many rooms have you booked?" Kieran asked.

"Five standard rooms."

"Is it the cheapest one here?”

The minimum price of the Dream Garden was a few thoudsand dollars. It was only tens of thousands dollars for five rooms. That amount of money wasn’t enough to teach Adriel a good lesson.

Myles secretly gave Kieran and Otto a meaningful glance.

“Dude, it’s your first treat. Don’t you think you should be more generous?”

“And how are five tables enough to fit all of us?”

The manager on the side had enough of this nonsense.

“Mr. Edwards booked the highest level, $10,000 a table.”

As soon as these words came out, those who questioned Adriel just now all lost their tongues.

Adriel was very satisfied with the manager’s move.

A low-key show-off is the loudest slap across the face.

All his previous attempts failed but Jeremy wouldn’t just give up. He was determined to make Adriel look like a fool in front of everyone. Let alone, he still had the beauty’s heart to win.

“I say we change to the top-notch private room. I know someone from a family like you has never been to such a fancy restaurant. I’ll show you the life of a real rich person.” said Jeremy disdainfully.

“Sorry, kid. Only VIPs are eligible to use the top-notch rooms.”

To Jeremy's ears, the manager was implying that he was not noble.

Jeremy's face darkened. He used to brag about his father owning a big company and making hundreds of millions a year. Now, being denied access to the private room seemed to suggest that he had been lying all along.

"Who says I'm not eligible?" Jeremy demanded.

"I must dine in your top-notch room today!"

“Enough, Jeremy,” Athena said firmly, clearly embarrassed by his behavior.

“The manager is just telling the truth. Even my father isn't qualified to be a VIP in this restaurant."

Athena knew that being a VIP at Dream Garden was a symbol of status in high society, and Jeremy's rudeness was not helping his case.

“But, of course, Mr. Edwards is our VVIP.”

Adriel looked at the manager with a hint of surprise in his eyes.

This was his first time here, so how could he be VVIP?

Did this place belong to his family?

The manager nodded to Adriel with a smile.

Athena saw it and couldn't believe her eyes.

Is there something about Adriel that she didn’t know?

Jeremy cursed in rage.

“Are you fucking blind? Look at him! He is qualified but I’m not?”

“Watch your language, young man,” said the manager sternly, “The minimum membership is $70,000. Can you afford it?”

Seventy thousand dollars?

Jeremy was taken aback by the staggering amount. Whoever paid so much money just to be a member of a restaurant was the biggest fool in the world!

The manager must be in cahoots with Adriel! And Jeremy wasn’t the only one who thought so.

Margaret secretly observed Adriel and the manager and caught Adriel casting a grateful look at the manager.

"In that case, Adriel, why don't you upgrade all the rooms to top-notch? You wouldn't mind, would you? Considering you're the VVIP," Margaret suggested.

"I agree with Margaret. It's settled then. We'll all wait for you at the top rooms," chimed in Myles, leading the group to the top-tier rooms before Adriel even had a chance to respond.

Adriel stood where he was for a long time and watched this scene coldly.

“Are you chickening out, Adriel? Why don’t you move your feet?” Jeremy said in a provocative tone.

Adriel gave him a cold look and said slowly, “See you inside.”

"Mr. Edwards, I'll have security kick them out right away."

“No need.”

Since Jeremy and the others wanted to play, he would accompany them to the end.

“Oh, thanks, for what you did earlier.”

Adriel took out a stack of banknotes from the black plastic bag and handed it to the manager.

“I can’t take it, Mr. Edwards!”

"You deserve it. Just take it."

Seeing that the manager did not take it, Adriel stuffed the money into his hand and quickly left.

“You came just in time,” Jeremy waved the menu in his hand to Adriel.

“We just ordered some Boston lobster, French Goose liver, and two bottles of Lafite. Do you think that’s enough?”

“For the first round, maybe.”

Adriel took the menu and counted the people in the room.

“Make it fifteen lobsters and fifteen servings of French Goose liver. And the wine. I don’t like Lafite, change it to Bordeaux.”

Adriel looked at Jeremy defiantly.

“What? Are you afraid, Jeremy?”

“Do you know how much all these things cost? Don't you worry about not being able to pay in the end?” Jeremy said with a cold expression.

“Don’t worry about me, Jeremy. Worry about yourself.”

Jeremy stared at Adriel and couldn't say a single word.

“You do know that you have to pay in real money, right?” pursued Jeremy.

Adriel smiled disdainfully.

“Of course, I know that.”

Seeing Adriel not backing down at all, Jeremy had no choice but to tough it out.

“Don't expect me to pay your share for you.” said Jeremy through gritted teeth.

“We shall see.” A smug smile appeared in Adriel’s face.

The waiter took their order and left the room.
