C2 Skybreaker Spear
The next morning, Xiao Han didn't rush off to school. Instead, he made his way to the nearby Heavenly Arsenal, a shop specializing in Spirit Weaver supplies, not far from his school.
In this world, firearms existed, albeit sparsely. It wouldn't be surprising for the Heavenly Arsenal to stock such weaponry.
His father had given him half a million, which should suffice to purchase a fitting long spear.
Upon arriving at the Heavenly Arsenal, Xiao Han noticed it was bustling with patrons. Yet, few were there to buy weapons; the majority were there for cultivation medicines, which Xiao Han considered practically worthless. Yet, astonishingly, these so-called trashy medicines commanded high prices.
One such medicine, the Body Strengthening Liquid, which Xiao Han deemed unworthy of even being called a first-level pill, was selling for a staggering hundred thousand per bottle!
That was just ludicrous!
"May I help you with something, sir?" a beautiful attendant dressed in a red cheongsam inquired, approaching Xiao Han with a welcoming smile.
"I'm looking to purchase a weapon."
"Of course, sir. What type of weapon are you interested in? A longsword or perhaps a long saber?"
"A long spear."
"A long spear? That's quite uncommon. May I ask what your budget is?"
The attendant seemed genuinely taken aback upon learning that Xiao Han was in the market for a long spear, as longswords and long sabers were the weapons of choice for most. Long spears were a rarity.
"Roughly five hundred thousand."
Xiao Han figured if he was going to make a purchase, it might as well be a quality one. With half a million at his disposal, he intended to buy a weapon worth every penny.
"If my memory serves me right, we do have a spear in that price range. Please, sir, follow me to the lounge and wait there for a moment."
After escorting Xiao Han to the lounge, the attendant vanished, only to return briskly about ten minutes later.
With a slight tremor from her storage ring, a gleaming silver spear materialized before Xiao Han.
The spear seemed to be quite heavy, as the attendant was clearly struggling to hold it. Noticing this, Xiao Han promptly stood up and relieved her of the silver spear with ease.
Whoosh!
The spear thrust forward with a resounding whistle. Indeed, this spear was an exceptional weapon for him at this time.
"What's this spear called?"
"Skybreaker Spear. If you're interested in this weapon, it's yours for four hundred and fifty thousand."
Xiao Han ran his hands along the spear, quite pleased with it. The price was within his budget, so he took out his Black Card and handed it to the cheongsam-clad waitress.
"How much for a Storage Ring?"
"The cheapest one is fifty thousand. It can hold this weapon and a bit more."
"Alright, the card has exactly five hundred thousand. Take it all."
"Very well, sir."
With the waitress's efficient handling, Xiao Han swiftly completed the transaction and left the Heavenly Arsenal.
Just across the street from the Heavenly Arsenal was the Starry Sky Academy, where his dreams had once taken flight and later came crashing down. Now, it was set to be the stage for his new beginning.
Entering the school, he had learned from a phone call with his classmate that he had regained his status as a first-year student and that his former single dormitory had been reassigned to him.
Xiao Han had been one of the academy's top talents in his first year, so his dormitory was far from average. By all accounts, with his Blade Spirit dissipated and his cultivation gone, he should have lost his residency. Yet, it had been reassigned to him, no doubt thanks to his father's sudden intervention.
As he walked into the Starry Sky Academy and took in the familiar surroundings, he felt momentarily disoriented.
But just then, an irritating voice rang out from across the street.
"Hey, isn't that our genius Xiao? Weren't you expelled? What brings you back all of a sudden? You didn't sneak back in, did you? Hahaha!"
Xiao Han turned to see Han Junchao, the voice's owner. Han Junchao had only awakened his Blade Spirit a year ago, and his cultivation was at the peak of Spirit Energy. He had always been envious of Xiao Han's talent, and now that Xiao Han had fallen on hard times, Han Junchao couldn't resist the opportunity to kick him while he was down.
Moreover, this was a "genius" who had once loomed large above him.
Xiao Han had no interest in engaging with the other party. He continued on his way to the Starry Sky Academy's administrative office, determined to re-register and sort out all the pending matters today.
Yet, it seemed he didn't have to seek out trouble, for trouble eagerly trotted up to him, begging for attention.
"Tell me, Xiao the genius, do you really belong here?" Han Junchao stood before Xiao Han, his tone dripping with arrogance, as if convinced Xiao Han had illicitly scaled the wall to enter.
"Scram."
Killing intent flashed in Xiao Han's eyes, sending a shiver down Han Junchao's spine.
"He's nothing but a has-been. Can his fierce glare really pose any threat to me?" Han Junchao mused internally, puffing out his chest and locking eyes with Xiao Han.
"You don't still think you're the genius of the past, do you? Now, you're nothing but trash, a dog that anyone can kick around!" Han Junchao jabbed a finger at Xiao Han's chest. That did it; he had truly infuriated Xiao Han now.
Whoosh!
In a flash, Xiao Han seized his adversary's neck and, with tremendous force, hoisted him into the air before slamming him down to the ground with a thunderous crash.
Boom!
The physical prowess of a cultivator was leagues beyond that of a Spirit Weaver in this world, especially when the Spirit Weaver was merely at the Spirit Energy stage. After being hurled to the ground by Xiao Han, Han Junchao lay there, coughing up blood, his eyes wide with shock and disbelief.
"Don't provoke me, or else don't blame me for setting aside the camaraderie of our school days," Xiao Han warned coldly, his voice laced with icy menace as he released his foot from the other's head.
Xiao Han departed from the street, leaving Han Junchao to scramble to his feet shortly after, looking utterly disheveled and stripped of his earlier bravado.
Rooted to the spot, he was consumed by disbelief and fear. Had Xiao Han truly regained his cultivation and talent?
Impossible. Under normal circumstances, a person could only awaken a single Blade Spirit in their lifetime.
Han Junchao stood rooted to the spot, utterly baffled. How could it be possible for someone whose Blade Spirit had clearly dissipated and cultivation utterly crippled to have any hope of recovery? Meanwhile, Xiao Han had already made his way to the administration office of Starry Sky Academy and successfully acquired his dormitory key along with a few other items.
