C3 His Cultivation Level Has Increased!!
However, what shocked everyone was that it was not Luo Xiu who was yelping in pain, but rather, Zhang Hao!
Zhang Hao stumbled back, emitting a cry similar to that of a child. His right hand was swollen as they bent in ways that were physically impossible. His face contorted to that of disbelief.
What was going on?
Luo Xiu suppressed a smirk.
Everyone, even he knew, that Zhang Hao was years ahead of him in terms of his cultivation, inner qi, and martial arts skills. However, now that he had improved his foundation, it seemed that he was able to put his strength to the test.
It showed that he was no longer weaker than him.
Only then did he learn the power of the Life and Death Bead. Not only was he stronger, but his attacks could directly damage one's life vein.
The Life Qi could nourish and repair the Life Vein, while the Death Qi could do the opposite.
It seemed that he had perfect control of both.
That was why he had managed to break all of Zhang Hao's fingers.
While a common injury could damage the Life Vein, it wouldn't be able to "disable" it for much longer. On the other hand, if one were to attack to directly damage one's life vein, he could cause a much more serious injury.
Even then, Luo Xiu still wasn't finished. All the years of being bullied and looked down upon had caused years of pent-up rage and distrust. There was no way he was backing out now. His hands curled into fists once more.
Zhang Hao shuddered as the wind whirled around them. He stumbled back. His cheeks were flushed, but he couldn't really care any less. All he wanted was to get away.
"Scram!"
Luo Xiu's foot connected with Zhang Hao's chest, and the latter fell down.
A series of bone cracks rang out as Zhang Hao writhed on the pavement. His eyebrows were furrowed in pain as his arms wrapped around his chest. How could this have happened?
He had humiliated him yesterday, and now...
"P—Pl—" he tried to speak, but even breathing was enough to make him shudder. All of the surrounding students were stunned into silence.
"Have I gone blind?" one of them broke the awkward air, and it was followed by several, agreeing nods.
"Is that really Luo Xiu? Did he really beat them up?"
"How could that have happened?"
"He dislocated Lee Hai's arm!"
"And Zhang Hao...he broke his ribs and hand!"
Since they were young, the pair were always at it like a bunch of rogue dogs. They would bully anyone they see fit. Plenty of students have fallen victim to their fists and smirks, but they didn't dare complain. They were that powerful.
What they couldn't expect was to be beaten by the same person they considered trash. Lee Hai burrowed his head into his arms, refusing to meet anyone's eyes.
"Little bastard! You're dead to me!" Zhang Hao finally coughed out.
"Are you really that arrogant? Maybe I should teach you a lesson," Luo Xiu mocked.
"You think you're even worthy of competing with me? I'll make you pay the price!"
"You dare threaten me?" His eyes flashed. The young man didn't waste any time as he stepped on Zhang Hao's wrist, and another crack echoed around them. They all gasped in surprise and fear.
The pain was now too much for him. Zhang Hao's eyes fluttered shut, and he fainted.
Only then did Luo Xiu take a step back.
Now that he had vented his anger, he knew that this wouldn't be the last time he'd see them. They would surely come back for revenge.
However, he wasn't worried. As long as his cultivation improves, he'd be able to battle them out. Even the Zhang Family wouldn't dare make him an enemy. The corners of his lips twitched.
They would also not come marching here given that the Martial Hall was under the protection of the Unfettered Sect.
It was one of the strongest sects in the county.
His life had just gotten interesting. However, rumors of his ruthless actions had managed to spread around the crowd.
"Zhang Hao is at Level Four. Luo Xiu is at Level Two. How was he able to do it?"
"He just used two moves too!"
They never thought that the man who had always lagged behind would be able to beat someone like Zhang Hao. They could only watch as the man disappeared from their sight.
Luo Xiu retreated to his room.
"I shouldn't be too arrogant just because I was able to defeat Zhang Hao," he murmured to himself. "There are still many others who are stronger than me, like his brother."
There were three different classes in Martial Hall. Students who are ten to thirteen years of age were placed in the Beginner Class. Those who were fourteen to sixteen were placed in the Intermediate Class, while those who were seventeen and eighteen were placed in the Advanced one.
The students in the Beginner Class were from Level One to Four. For those in the Intermediate Class...if they were unable to reach Level Five Body Refining, they would be expelled.
As for the students in the Advanced Class, they must attain Level Eight Body Refining. Otherwise, they would also be expelled.
Luo Xiu was thirteen this year. If he continued to cultivate at this speed, he'd be able to attain just Body Refining Level Five at fourteen. If he were to be expelled, especially at this point in his life, he'd only be ridiculed and mocked. And his parents' investment would be all for nothing.
"I have three months till the annual assessment. I have to reach Level Five."
As soon as he returned to his room, Luo Xiu began to meditate.
After Zhang Hai found out that his younger brother was injured, he came all the way here to exact his revenge. What he didn't expect was for the young man to lock himself in his room. He gritted his teeth. There was a rule in Martial Hall that no one was allowed to break into the students' residences to account for their safety.
While he counted himself an extraordinary student, he too had to respect the law. The elders of Martial Hall would show no one any mercy. Therefore, he had to wait.
While chaos ensued outside of his room, Luo Xiu found peace alone. He could feel the changes in his body as his Inner Qi harmonized with his bodily systems. His physique had already departed from its bony appearance as his cultivation continued to improve.
The Vital Energy of Heaven and Earth wrapped around him like a cloak as he sat there, unmoving. On the second day, he had reached Level Three Body Refining.
Five days later, he had reached Level Four.
If Luo Xiu didn't have the Life and Death bead at the plan of his hand, he wouldn't have reached this level.
However, as soon as he did attain such a level, he discovered that his speed had slowed down. He pursed his lips.
It seemed that there was a limit.
"Well, according to the rules of the Martial Hall, those who have attained Level Four Body Refining would be allowed to enter the Library of Cultivation to choose a Grade Two Martial Arts they'd like to learn."
On this day, he finally stepped out of the room.
"Bastard, you finally dare to come out!"
As soon as Luo Xiu came out of his room, he noticed a young man staring down at him. With his high cheekbones and shiny new training gear, he looked like an aristocrat who had just joined the middle class.
"And who are you? Some trash that got lost?"
Luo Xiu sneered. After the power he had just garnered, he wouldn't allow anyone to look down on him.
"You dare insult me?"
"You're the one who called me a bastard. Why shouldn't I call you like the trash you are?" Luo Xiu scoffed. "Do you think that just because you're some genius you're better than all of us?"
The young man glowered at him. "You're very bold for a lowly bastard like you."
"I'd be careful if I were you." Luo Xiu couldn't even stop the words from falling from his lips. "Your brother thought the same thing, and look where he's at now. Tell me, do you want to follow his faith?"
"Do you want to die?"
The young man glowered. This time, he could see a piercing light emanating around his body. This was the strength shown only by a Level Seven Body Refining disciple. This was his raw Inner Qi out on display.
So, this was Zhang Hao's brother Zhang Hai. Not only was he the most powerful among the second-grade students, but he was also extremely intelligent. He was a "force to be reckoned with".
Luo Xiu's gaze turned freezing cold. While this battle may be difficult, he wouldn't back down so easily.
The commotion attracted a lot of wandering eyes. They crowded by the other end of the field—their gazes narrowed at the two men with high interest.
"Isn't that person Zhang Hao's brother? Zhang Hai? From what I heard, he's already reached Level Seven Body Refining!"
"They're qualified to enter the Library of Cultivation, right? Damn, I'm jealous."
"A few days ago, Luo Xiu injured his brother. Now that he's out searching for him, he's going to be in big trouble."
While they had seen Luo Xiu's strength, they all knew that Zhang Hai was on another level. He could easily die at the older man's hands.
"He's going to be dead!"
