C5 If You Don't Let Me In, I'll Defeat All of You!
"You're bold. Maybe I should teach you just how far the gap is between a Level Five expert and a Level Four newbie!"
Just like Wang Hui, Lu Feng was also a student in the Intermediate Class section. He also followed Zhang Hui around in hopes that he'd have a better life ahead of him. He clenched his fists.
There were so many people like him. They knew that their talents in martial arts were lacking, so it was nearly impossible for them to enter the Advanced Class. However, as long as they stuck to Zhang Hai, they'd receive good treatment.
That's why they did all of this.
The entire commotion had attracted the attention of other students who were striding into the Library of Cultivation. The others could not help but watch it with furrowed eyebrows. While Luo Xiu was powerful amongst the beginners, he was no match for Lu Feng's cultivation. He wouldn't be able to withstand the other upperclassman's attack.
However, as their fists collided, a muffled scream tore out from Lu Feng's throat. His bottom lip trembled as all color was drained from his face.
He howled as his entire arm fell to his side. It was as if his arm had fallen limp, and he felt his bones cracking from the collision.
"Lu Feng!" Wang Hui's expression changed. He took a step toward his friend. How could this happen?
However, all he heard were regretful howls in reply. His bones were not only broken, but his muscles felt as if they were torn apart. He couldn't even move his right arm as the pain coursed through his veins. "U—" he tried to speak, but all they heard were muffled cries.
Luo Xiu didn't look too bothered. "You've broken the rules of Martial Hall and tried to stop me from entering," he said coldly. "You deserve this."
As he said this, he turned around and regarded the other man with a sneer. "Do you still plan on stopping me?"
Although their cultivation levels were much higher, he didn't seem like he cared.
Wang Hui could feel shivers shooting down his spine. Sweat trickled down his forehead as he hurriedly looked around. His chest tightened. The mere sight of this man was enough to send him to the ground.
However, just the thought of Zhang Hai backing him up, he hurriedly calmed himself. His face contorted into that of a scowl. "Not only have you broken the rules and trespassed into the library, but you even dare to injure the student guards. While you may be strong, this is not the place to show off your arrogance!"
Wang Hui clenched his fists.
Luo Xiu scoffed. "I've seen and met many shameless people over the years, but none of them were as shameless as you. Anyone here can testify for me—you're the one who broke the rules first. Don't act so righteously."
The students who were gathered around him began to nod in agreement. "That's right. Just because they're a class older than us doesn't give them a right to look down on us. Luo Xiu has clearly reached Level Four. According to the rules, he should be allowed in."
"That's right. Just because they're lackeys to Zhang Hai doesn't mean they could do whatever they want."
"Don't they know how powerful he is? Look at Lu Feng!"
The words bouncing across the walls weren't in favor of the two upperclassmen. His cheeks flushed. While he was partially at fault here for being unreasonable, it was too late to back down now. Garnering Zhang Hai's favor was enough to set him for life. Who cared what would happen next?
His chest bubbled up in rage as he regarded the young man. "You dare slander me? Let me teach you a lesson!"
Wang Hui immediately moved toward Luo Xiu with his fists tight to his chest. His eyes were narrowed and his pupils were dilated. He appeared like a wolf hunting down for his prey.
"Since you've decided to stop me, I shouldn't be answerable to your injuries." Luo Xiu sneered. "Get lost!"
How could these two idiots be so...stupid? They were really sacrificing their entire bodies for a fraction of a chance that Zhang Hai would appreciate them. Were they crazy? His fist collided with Wang Hui's, and the winds around them swirled from the agility.
"My hand!"
Wang Hui flew back onto the library, crashing onto the shelves. The books fell onto the floor with some falling onto his head. "I..." He groaned in pain.
Everyone held their breath. Lu Feng and Wang Hui were not as talented as the other seniors that they have met, but they were at Level Five Body Refining. Their combined strength should have been able to overpower them, but he defeated them in one blow.
"Holy shit! How is that possible?"
"But isn't that a Level One Martial Skill?"
They blinked repeatedly, trying to guess if what they'd seen was right.
"I want to enter the library. Do you have any objections?"
Luo Xiu couldn't care any less as he made his way into the library.
"I wouldn't be too arrogant if I were you. You've forgotten that you still have Young Master Zhang watching over you," Wang Hui spat out as blood splattered across the pavement. He gritted his teeth.
Luo Xiu was silent as he strode deeper into the Library of Cultivation. In the center, he saw an old man sitting down with his legs criss-crossed. Even with all the ruckus, he had his eyes closed the entire time.
The Martial Hall upheld a rule of "survival of the fittest". As long as no one died, they couldn't care any less about these matters.
The old man was the elder in charge of protecting the Library of Cultivation. As soon as he activated his Life Vein Diagram, he was immediately blinded by the dense green light being emitted by the elder. His eyes widened in amazement.
An expert! The corners of his lips inched upward into a full-blown smile as he bowed his head in respect. This elder could best all of them in a fight, and his strength far exceeded that of Teacher Lu who was at the Qi Sea Stage.
"Elder," he finally spoke. "I am Luo Xiu, a student of the Beginner Class. I have reached Level Four, and I want to enter the Library to choose a Level Two Martial Arts skill."
The Elder slowly opened his eyes and nodded. "You may come in."
"Thank you."
The Elder knew about the conflict between the three despite having his eyes closed. It was not rare for a martial arts master, despite being at a lower stage to defeat someone at Level Five. It was why he didn't pay much attention to it.
Luo Xiu stared in awe at the array of books all around him. To think that this still wasn't all of the books in the library. There were still some hidden in the inner rooms, reserved for those who were qualified to wield Level Four Martial Arts skills.
Since he still didn't have the strength to cultivate such a level, this was enough for the day.
Given that he was already at Level Four, he could choose one Martial Art skill, one Internal Energy Skill, and another Movement Technique from the first floor.
He glanced around to see that there were other students who had also stepped inside to look at the skills available to them.
These students exclaimed in unison, "Wind Splitting Palm, Fierce Tiger Fist, Catkin Movement Technique, and Windward Step."
The options were limitless!
According to the categories, all the martial arts secret manuals were divided into the Cultivation Method Area, Martial Skill Area, and Movement Technique Area.
Luo Xiu gazed at the Cultivation Method Area. Most of them were of Level One and Level Two cultivation methods.
Luo Xiu quickly chose the Tendon-Altering and Bone-Forging Technique. This was the internal energy technique he needed to master.
This technique is most suitable for disciples achieving "equity" on their meridian strength.
It involved memorizing and mastering all of one's acupoints. After all, to practice the deliverance and circulation of Qi Energy, it is integral that they understand where this is being transported. This technique would also assist him in garnering more power.
With a nod of his head, he made his way to the Martial Skills area. While internal energy techniques are rarely seen on the battlefield, the practice of Martial Arts is a performance to be respected. He pulled out a scroll on Dragon Tiger Fist.
Like the Mighty Bull Fist, this power also had a terrorizing effect. However, this time around, one punch would practically obliterate the person's insides. While there were a few who knew of this technique, only a number of people could actually elevate this technique.
Then, he chose the Inch Step, a technique that would allow him to move as silently and quickly as a snake. Although practicing it was simple, mastering it was another thing.
Only then did he pull away, satisfied with his selection.
"Luo Xiu?" Just then, a soft voice sounded from behind him. Luo Xiu turned around to see a young woman staring up at him, with her hands pinching the sides of her blue dress.
"Miss Lau."
The slender woman was none other than Lau Yuxin. There was a time when he was simply just an ordinary student at Level Two Body Refining. She, on the other hand, was at Level Six. Just the thought of her made him swoon.
It was also for that reason that he had offended Zhang Hao in the process.
If it was in the past, he wouldn't have believed that she would talk to him. However, now that the Life and Death Bead had merged with his Qi, his feelings had felt...different.
She must have noticed his change in demeanor because her eyes had widened by a fraction. Even then, she made no comment about it. "I didn't expect that you would've reached Level Four this quickly. If I remember correctly, you were at Level Two a couple of days ago."
"It's only by luck" He laughed.
Lau Yuxin nodded. "We'll be taking the assessment in three months. If you don't reach the Level Five requirement, what would your plans be?" Upon hearing silence, she smiled. "If you want, why don't you go to the Lau Family? You can work as my guard."
Her guard? Luo Xiu stared at her for a long time. Was she trying to repay him for his kindness? After all, it was he who had saved her from Zhang Hao's pestering. Perhaps she didn't think he could pass the exam.
If this had been a couple of days ago, Luo Xiu would've already taken it. Now, however...
"Miss Lau," he suddenly said. "Thank you for your kind intentions, but I do intend to pass."
"Pass?" Lau Yuxin furrowed her eyebrows.
"Aren't you being a little ungrateful? Do you think you can break through Level Five in just three months?"
