C4 Nether Fire Pupil

Qin Feng was conversing with his junior fellow disciple, Nie Yuv, from the Imperial Heaven Sect. Although Nie Yuv had joined the sect after Qin Feng, his strength and potential far surpassed Qin Feng's, exceeding his Spirit Rank by four levels. As a result, their master held Nie Yuv in high regard.

Nie Yuv harbored a disdain for Qin Feng, convinced that Qin Feng's inherent weakness was insurmountable, that he was incapable of standing on his own. Qin Feng's lack of dedication to his cultivation had not earned him their master's favor, relegating him to the menial task of trash disposal in the mountains—a fate Nie Yuv found utterly laughable.

Nie Yuv's visit to the God Abandoning Land on this day was to select a Spirit Artifact from the Artifact Realm, as instructed by their master. He was surprised not only to encounter Qin Feng but also to witness him producing numerous high-grade magic treasures from his Secret Bag.

"Borrowing magic treasures from Martial Uncle Lian again?" Nie Yuv taunted. "You never change. There's no way Martial Uncle Lian would lend you so many treasures unless you stole them."

Qin Feng's brow furrowed in annoyance at Nie Yuv's words, but he remained focused on his mission. He needed to venture into the God Abandoning Land to search for remnants of Spirit Artifact Magic Treasures to forge even more powerful items. The unexpected arrival of a mysterious system and the Small Cauldron had given him a chance to turn his life around, and he was determined to seize this opportunity.

Without giving Nie Yuv another thought, Qin Feng approached the shadowy stone at the entrance to the God Abandoning Land. A ring of dark blue curse seals emerged on the ground, activating the Magic Array that whisked Qin Feng away. Nie Yuv's furious curses faded into the background as Qin Feng entered the land, chuckling to himself.

"Crazy," he muttered under his breath.

Inside the God Abandoning Land, Qin Feng was taken aback by the sight before him. A towering mountain of scorched magic tool remnants loomed, emitting plumes of black smoke. Despite the destruction, the pure essence exuded was of the highest quality, filling a space vast enough to rival the expanse of the heavens and the earth.

Glancing around, Qin Feng noticed an inscription on a nearby stone wall, clarifying that he had arrived in the Abandoned Realm Division. The God Abandoning Land was vast, divided into four distinct parts: the God Realm Division, Abandoned Realm Division, Artifact Realm Division, and Beast Realm Division.

The God Realm had always been off-limits, sealed as a forbidden area. According to legend, a true god resided within, and no one dared to provoke such a presence. The God Abandoning Land, on the other hand, was where various sects discarded the remnants of their magic treasures. Regardless of their rank, all were cast aside here, and over the course of a millennium, the residual magic in these treasures would coalesce into a Gathering Spirit. This sometimes resulted in the emergence of slightly ferocious Spirit Beasts that could harm people, making the area largely unpopular. The Artifact Realm was a gathering place for Spirit Treasures forged by Artifact Forging Masters of varying levels. Whenever new disciples were admitted, the most promising among them would venture here in search of a Spirit Treasure that resonated with them, provided they could tame the residing Artifact Spirit. The Beast Realm was home to Spirit Beasts, Devil Beasts, and Divine Beasts alike.

Upon reaching his goal, Qin Feng knew it was time to indulge his greed. He summoned the Small Cauldron and sifted through the remnants for a piece of slightly higher quality to toss inside.

Out of the blue, he unearthed a deep blue, diamond-shaped crystal from the pile of debris.

He couldn't detect any Pure Qi from the stone and had no idea which magic treasure it had once been a part of. Its clarity and purity were striking, so he casually threw it into the Small Cauldron.

When Qin Feng deemed the moment right, he began his incantations, refining the remnants within the cauldron.

Time passed unmarked until the system abruptly announced, "Forging in progress."

"High-level Broken Treasure fragments detected amidst low-level remnants. Composition commencing..."

A small, round crystal, exuding a blue mist, hovered before Qin Feng's eyes.

Qin Feng was taken aback. This was no ordinary piece of equipment. The bead bore no resemblance to the grand equipment he had envisioned. Had he made a mistake?

"Congratulations to the host for acquiring the Heaven Defying Level Magic Treasure, Nether Fire Pupil."

Qin Feng was taken aback. Before he could even inquire about the Nether Fire Pupil, the bead glimmered as if trying to communicate something.

Before he could grasp what was happening, the bead shot into Qin Feng's right eye, merging with it as if by magic. A searing pain enveloped his eye socket, and Qin Feng clutched at his eye, overwhelmed by the agony.

Damn it, that hurts!

Just when Qin Feng feared his eye was beyond repair, the searing pain began to subside. He cautiously opened his eyes and was relieved to find his vision unimpaired.

He quickly cast a spell to summon a mirror and was astonished to see that his right pupil had turned a deep blue, though the color gradually faded away.

"System, what's happening here?"

"Host, the Nether Fire Pupil is a high-level Heaven Defying Level magic treasure. It recognizes only one master, embedding itself in the master's eye as a new eye. Its abilities include seeing through spirits and exerting control over minds and instilling fear, which the master can trigger."

"Really? It has such capabilities? Looks like I've stumbled upon a real gem." Qin Feng's grin was so wide he could hardly contain it. He had never imagined that a casual toss of broken treasures into the furnace would yield such a remarkable Heaven Defying Level magic treasure.

He had thought that creating a Limitless or top-grade treasure was already quite an achievement, but luck was on his side, gifting him with a Heaven Defying Level magic treasure in one go.

With that in mind, Qin Feng continued to feed remnants into the furnace non-stop, hoping to forge an even higher-grade magic treasure.

Despite his efforts, none of the subsequent magic treasures reached the Heaven Defying Level, only achieving ranks below it. Surveying the colorful array of magic treasures on the ground and the once-mountainous pile of broken treasures now reduced to a small hill, Qin Feng felt a twinge of disappointment.

It seemed that no more Heaven Defying Level or higher magic treasures would be forged today.

Qin Feng gathered the forged magic treasures into his Secret Bag, contemplating their potential value. Selling them at the sect's black market could net him a substantial amount of Black Gold Stones. With those stones, he could access the sect's library and acquire numerous secret techniques.

Nevertheless, even with the advantage of the cheat-level Immortal Furnace and the system, Qin Feng knew he couldn't neglect his fundamental duties. Diligent cultivation was essential.

Having organized everything, Qin Feng was ready to depart.

A chill swept over Qin Feng from behind. He glanced back only to find a deceptive calm. Abruptly, a flash of blue brilliance flickered before his eyes, engulfing his pupils in a radiant glow.

Through his vision, Qin Feng perceived countless strands of Spirits, each tainted with an impurity as if long since corrupted.

Gathering Spirit!

His gaze hardened as he conjured a sharp blade in his grasp, of the Limitless grade, poised for the impending battle.

As anticipated, the Spirits hurtled toward him in a frenzied assault. With his heavy sword, Qin Feng cut down numerous Spirits, yet they were legion, relentlessly surging toward him.

Regret gnawed at Qin Feng for not having honed his physical prowess while at the Imperial Heaven Sect. Had he done so, he wouldn't be so taxed in dispatching these Spirits.

His stamina waned, sweat beaded on his brow, and his grip on the sword shook. Still, the onslaught of Gathering Spirits was unceasing. What to do...

Then, Qin Feng recalled the system's recent message: "There is a Heart Control effect that requires its master to trigger."

Heart Control? Could it work on these Spirits? There was only one way to find out.

Muttering an incantation, Qin Feng closed his eyes. Moments later, he snapped them open, his gaze intensifying, a deep blue light shimmering within.

Suddenly, the Gathering Spirits halted before him, seemingly cowed by the piercing gaze of his Nether Fire Pupil, hesitant to advance.

Seizing the moment, Qin Feng cleaved a path through the Gathering Spirits and spun around to activate the Magic Array, whisking himself away to safety.
