C2 The Underworld Was Empty the Devil Was in the Human World

"Hahaha! Gotcha, you fool. With the IQ of a chip, you really thought you could control me?"

Ye Cheng burst into laughter, flashing a triumphant victory sign.

The System felt a surge of frustration, as if it were on the verge of an internal meltdown.

'Never mind, I need to save the host's life first. If he dies, so do I...'

At that very moment.

The hanging ghost outside the door revealed a sinister grin.

Its hair grew longer and stronger, inexorably coiling around Ye Cheng's neck.

Ye Cheng glanced down at the hair tightening around his neck and chuckled, "Hey, no need for formalities. It's not cold enough for a scarf."

He then contentedly rotated his neck.

In the eerie, pitch-black corridor.

The corners of the hanging ghost's mouth twitched slightly.

The hair kept growing, tightening its grip.

Gradually.

Ye Cheng's complexion turned a shade of purple; he was gasping for air.

"So, you're not my colleague but an assassin sent by those in white coats, aiming to take me out! Big mistake!"

He flailed his fists wildly.

The hanging ghost regarded Ye Cheng with contempt.

It had witnessed countless humans in their final, futile struggles.

All for naught!

The System automatically enhanced the host's abilities... upgrading Ye Cheng to the Demon-Slayer Vajra Fist!

In an instant.

Ye Cheng's fist glimmered with a golden light.

It struck the hanging ghost's face with a thunderous impact.

The ghost was hurled back several meters, and the hair around Ye Cheng's neck snapped off.

"Hmph, now you see what I'm capable of?"

Ye Cheng swung his fist with a smug air.

But then his brow furrowed once more.

He approached the fallen ghost.

Lifting it effortlessly, as if picking up a small chick.

The System automatically enhanced the host's abilities again... upgrading Ye Cheng to the Nine Yang Supreme Body, impervious to Yin Qi!

Ye Cheng eyed the bewildered hanging ghost and scolded,

"Look at the mess you've made. Clean up all this filth from the walls and floor before dawn, or Sister Xiao Chen is going to have words for me."

He gestured toward the wall.

The walls and floor were stained black with the yin energy that had been shaken out by the hanged ghost's punch.

The hanged ghost, seeing the earnest look on Ye Cheng's face and then his casserole-sized fist, could only nod glumly in agreement.

Satisfied, Ye Cheng dropped him to the ground, dusted off his hands, and returned to his room to lie down. Before shutting the door, he threw in a final warning, "Don't even think about running. If you do, I'll have to hit you again."

The system automatically enhanced the host's abilities... It has now upgraded the host to the True Word Command, binding the supernatural!

System: I'm exhausted. I've given too much for this family.

A beam of golden light transformed into chains, binding the hanged ghost.

His face was the picture of misery, as if he had lost his parents.

He had never encountered such irrational behavior.

Physical exorcism was one thing, but to expect someone to clean up their own spilled blood was quite another.

Tears welled up in the corners of the ghost's eyes, and he resigned himself to squatting in the corner, meticulously cleaning the yin-corroded walls.

The thought of Ye Cheng's seemingly innocuous smile sent shivers down his spine.

Woe is me, the Underworld is desolate, and the devil roams the earth!

The following morning, as Ye Cheng awoke,

the ghost knelt mournfully at the foot of his bed.

Upon noticing Ye Cheng's awakening, he reverently pointed toward the wall and floor outside the door.

They were immaculate, as if they had been freshly installed.

Ye Cheng nodded approvingly, "Not bad at all. Off you go, and remember, come back and clean more often when you're free."

The ghost sighed in relief, dissolving into a puff of black smoke and vanishing.

At 8 AM,

it was breakfast time.

Ye Cheng would faithfully join the queue to the canteen at this hour.

Eating was an essential part of sustaining his energy.

In the canteen line,

Ye Cheng gazed at the tanned canteen lady with a look of devotion.

"Great energy engineer, I am grateful for your sacrifices for the headquarters. The T300 will always honor you! This time, the T300 would like some extra braised pork, please."

The cafeteria lady chuckled upon seeing Ye Cheng's plump cheeks.

"Alright, this engineer will toss a few extra pieces of braised pork onto T300's plate!"

Ye Cheng's eyes lit up as he noticed the additional braised pork on his plate, a grateful smile spreading across his face.

Tears of appreciation trickled down his cheeks.

"Thank you, Engineer. T300 will forever remain devoted to headquarters!"

With that, Ye Cheng turned and walked away.

The cafeteria lady watched him go, her smile lingering. Working in the mental hospital, she encountered all sorts of unique patients—some could be quite troublesome, while others were endearing. Ye Cheng definitely fell into the latter category.

At the dining table, Ye Cheng regarded his meal with solemnity.

Before he could eat, he had to perform a sacred ritual to begin absorbing energy.

He retrieved a well-worn soap box from his trousers and held it to his chest.

"Warriors of headquarters, T300 stands with you, ever ready to support you, comrades!"

He then returned the soap box to its place and started to eat heartily, savoring each bite more than anyone else. In his mind, he needed to eat well to sustain himself until he received a response from headquarters.

Meanwhile, a vehicle from the Supernatural Bureau pulled up at the mental hospital.

Inside the Director's office, everyone's gaze was fixed on the computer screen.

Displayed on the screen was Ye Cheng, his neck ensnared by a ghost, delivering a golden punch that sent the specter reeling.

"Director Chen, I must meet with this Ye Cheng today. He could very well be the psychic we've been searching for, someone of great importance to the tranquility of Cloud Sea City," said Wang Anshi, the director of the Supernatural Bureau, with a grave look to Director Chen Yangguang.

He had been following the hanging ghost's trail since the previous night and discovered that after its encounter at the mental hospital, its malevolent energy had been significantly weakened, allowing for its easy capture.

He was convinced that a mastermind resided within the mental hospital.

He had come directly, not expecting to find that it was a psychotic patient.

Nonetheless, Wang Anshi's plans remained unchanged. The powers Ye Cheng exhibited in the video suggested he might possess the innate abilities of a Buddha Body, a natural-born ace in the making.
